  1. Most likely situation feels like it’ll be Aune starting, then Bean rotating in next. That was what they did in the scrimmage last week and it sounds like neither did anything that day to prove one was the undisputed starter over the other. That scrimmage was the conclusion of fall camp, and they went into season practice structure last week, so a lot more ones vs scout team and less ones vs ones. Hard to imagine Aune completely usurps the starting QB role in that type of setup, and even more hard to imagine Bean leap frogs Aune and becomes the undisputed starter in that setup.
  2. It’s a good question, and I’m not sure the NCAA has really expanded on it. My guess is the coaches will proceed like normal with redshirts unless it is explicitly stated that this will be the case.
  3. With two weeks between the HBU game and SMU, I could see that one making extra sense for Siggers to sit. Give him an extra two weeks to get near 100% since he was only recently cleared for contact. I think we’ll see Torrey, Nic Smith, and maybe even Isaiah Johnson since this would be a good game to get him some action and still have 3 more to preserve his redshirt.
  4. Predicting that we sit Siggers against HBU and Adaway goes over 100 yards
  5. Scholarship was awarded to JJ Murray, so we are back up to 13. Happy for JJ, but also disappointed we couldn’t bring in a potential impact guy with the spot. This brings our scholarships available to the 2021 class to 6.
  6. Deshawn Gaddie
  7. Brune had an article last month, might have been VIP, indicating a lot of these early RB offers were basically saying our contact with them had died down. With the possible exception of Julius Loughridge, the most recent RB offer besides Keith Jackson. That’s pretty consistent with how recruiting usually goes. I doubt we’re still actively recruiting any of the guys at any position that we offered back in April or prior. Probably same for guys offered in May. Most of our commits this summer were offered during the summer.
  8. Even though he didn’t, he did have more FBS offers than the vast majority of players we have signed. He also had some strong interest from P5s and was very close to landing P5 offers from what I was told. Either way, glad he’s here
  9. Thank you
  10. Not sure, and would be hard to tell going back very far. Plan on looking into this when I have some time, but my initial thinking is yes it is more than our rosters in recent years. Looking back at some of the Mccarney rosters we seemed to hover around 5-10 guys who had P5 offers out of high school. Most of those guys were usually transfers like Trice, Darius Terrell, Cam Feldt, Reggie Pegram, etc.
  11. His market is likely with FCS schools, many of which have moved their seasons to the spring. So plenty of time for him.
  12. He retired/left the team a while ago, but had not elected to put his name in the transfer portal until now.
  13. I thought I explained it pretty clearly. To state that solely using us offering players first who later become P5 prospects is a flawed way to evaluate whether our recruiting is improving or not. And that what’s more indicative is looking at the players we are actually landing and our ability to win recruiting battles. I know both can be done. I know we can be guys first offers before the P5s start rolling in, and we can land top quality CUSA-level recruits. I am clearly stating that if that first thing is happening but the second (us landing good recruits) isn’t happening then our recruiting isn’t improving.
  14. The very first word is if. If that happens. If it happens, as in if this hypothetical situation happens. Then I gave a real example of it happening under Mccarney. I don’t understand how you interpret these statements so far from how they are written.
  15. Brown has been mentioned as a likely starter for a while, but usually at guard. He was an underrecruited offensive lineman from Conroe and seems to have developed well. Cassidy was also pretty underrecruited out of Angleton and was a tough eval out of high school because his team ran a veer/wishbone type offense, so was tough to project him as a pass blocker.
  16. Looks like Aune is the leader but hit a couple bogeys on 17 and 18 before heading into the clubhouse
  17. In the article Brune says Crosby has the spot secured. Would like to see Morris as well because he looked like he had the makings of an athletic safety who could be a big hitter in the back end, which we haven’t had in a while. Hopefully if Crosby does win the job it means he’s exceptional and not just that Morris fell off, like Brune says he seems to have fallen off.

  20. https://247sports.com/college/north-texas/LongFormArticle/North-Texas-Mean-Green-football-2020-depth-chart-projection-150571588/Amp/?__twitter_impression=true Lot of interesting ones. Brune has as good a pulse on this as anyone. Looks like some potential position changes as well, like Jaxon Gibbs to corner and Cole Brown swinging out to tackle. Also interesting to see Chris Cassidy coming out and possibly winning that spot at right guard.
  21. Huge scrimmage today. Will be posting tweets from Brune and Vito since it looks like both are there today.
