  1. The most experienced guys from those recruiting classes are true sophomores, so I would put the blame more on the upperclassmen than them.
  2. I hope Littrell sees how much more running room there was there by passing to open up the run. Sometimes that’s how it is, sometimes it’s the other way around. Today the offense has moved much better when passing on early downs
  3. Shorter left the locker room with a big boot and crutches. Definitely out for the game.
  4. Defense keep playing well, keep throwing on early downs, and keep getting Siggers going and I feel like we’re in this.
  5. I don’t care who is QB if Littrell isn’t going to trust his QB to throw until it’s 3rd and long. Aune’s best play was to Simpson on a 1st down.
  6. They might. Just listing the guys we have who Vito did not rule out
  7. After KD Davis, we have Chris Thornton (redshirt junior who has never really played), Murphy twins, RS FR Taylor Jacobs, true freshmen Jacobi Johnson and Jordan Brown, and true freshmen Isaiah Johnson and Christian Lee have temporarily moved from offense to linebacker. With Adaway and Evan Johnson out, as well as Tre Siggers status uncertain, might not be out of the question to see Isaiah Johnson on both sides of the ball tonight.
  8. Yes, on stadium. You can watch it on Facebook by just searching “Stadium Football” and I think it is also on FSSW or FSSW+.
  9. Yeah there are usually multiple fathers on the team at any given time. Only one I am aware of on the current team is Jason Pirtle. I remember when he was first coming to UNT his baby momma was blowing up on twitter about him going to UNT and feeling like he was basically abandoning his responsibilities. Hope they have hashed things out since. As for Steele, looked at his Instagram and his last highlight clips he posted were captioned “feed tha family” so sounds like he still has ambitions to make a career in football, which we would all love. Wishing the best for him, his GF, and their families as they navigate the situation. I think he’s going to be a dynamic playmaker here and honestly feel like if not for him been injured last year and the pandemic cancelling a lot of camps and chances to boost stock, he would be a legitimate P5 recruit. Definitely a P5 level talent.
  10. VIP article, but says KD should be back but Tyreke expected to be a game time decision https://247sports.com/college/north-texas/Article/Exuding-energy-North-Texas-Mean-Green-football-anxious-in-return-to-Apogee-152244206/
  11. Completely agree. I remember this level of saltiness when it came to guys like the younger Orr brothers. They turned out just fine at TCU and Wisconsin, as much as I would’ve loved to have had them here.
  12. There are definitely levels to it. We have strictly landed backups from P5s as long as I have been following UNT, but backups come in so many different forms. Was the player buried hopelessly deep on the depth chart, or was he legitimately in the 2-deep? Did the player transfer as an underclassman who may have become a starter or challenged for a starting spot later in his career, or was he an upperclassman who tried for years but never received regular playing time? Jacob Farrell only got into two games at Oklahoma State, and wasn’t a factor to start. How much of that had to do with him being a redshirt freshmen, or was he a guy who would have never been a factor to play at Ok State? But his departure was reportedly circumstantial so hopefully we got a guy who would have become a contributor for OSU, and can become at least that here as well.
  13. This thought sounds a lot like people announcing that they won’t be watching sports anymore. No one is requiring anybody to get excited about commitments. If he really doesn’t care, why even post this stuff? But considering the majority of commitments do sign with us, hard to argue that they mean zero.
  14. Gabe Brooks and an OSU insider gave him crystal balls to flip to OK State last night. Although seems like he basically announced it
  15. True Freshman Isaiah Johnson has been moved from running back to linebacker. Gotta wonder how big an issue the contact tracing situation is at linebacker. If we can play Saturday, I’d be shocked to see either KD or Tyreke Davis, and likely more out at LB.
  16. I think between Aune running for a TD and using his legs to escape a collapsing pocket and make a big play on 3rd and 9 to Rod Burns and scrambling for a first down, I think he has negated a lot of the advantage that Bean presumably had over him in the legs category. Don’t expect him to break big runs like Bean, but I also don’t think that the best guy in the event of a collapsing pocket is necessarily the fastest guy. The fastest guy is also often the one who runs too early. They have both looked pretty good in that category imo. I would feel a lot better about weighing his stats against FCS competition so heavily if he had shown any semblance of success against FBS opponents as well. But in his 8 career appearances against FBS opponents, the highest yards/attempt he had ever had in any of those performances was just 6.5 yards/attempt, and it was just 3.2 against SMU.
  17. Completely agree
  18. My guess is absolutely, same for Loronzo Thompson. Don’t think they’d give up on a guy at the position they recruited him at 2 games into his true freshman season.
  19. True Freshman Christian Lee has been moved from tight end to linebacker.
  20. Aune could throw 38 straight incompletions and he’d still have a higher career yards/pass attempt than what Bean currently has. And that’s including stats from FCS games, so I’m not manipulating stats here. Going off their full body of work. I don’t see the angle where Bean gets the argument for lack of chances over Aune, who he has had more than. I know that’s not necessarily what you’re saying, but Aune has outperformed Bean in aggregate from what we’ve seen of them and Bean has had more on-field opportunities. Why shouldn’t we see more Aune? Shouldn’t he have more opportunities in order to actually even out the chances he has had with Bean? Then you can evaluate based on similar opportunities. Especially since Aune has done far more to earn those future opportunities than the guy who has had more to this point. Agreed on all of this. He said he wanted a starter for conference play, and based on on-field results I don’t see an unbiased angle where that guy shouldn’t be Aune.
  21. Why do you want to see us still using both QBs?
  22. Career passing stats against FBS competition: Aune - 17/30 for 412 yards (13.73 yards/attempt) and 3 TDs/1 INT Bean - 26/45 for 205 yards (4.56 yards/attempt) and 4 TDs/4 INTs Aune has thrown for over TWICE as many yards against FBS competition as Bean, despite Bean throwing 150% of the pass attempts that Aune has had. I don’t see why this should even be a question going at the moment. I think Aune will get the start, but what worries me is Littrell saying he expects both to play unless one stays hot. Aune’s biggest weakness seems to be that he can be a little shaky and make some risky passes, and seeing the whole field. Bean’s biggest weaknesses are arm strength and accuracy. Aune’s weaknesses seem much more of a function of needing on-field experience than Bean’s weaknesses. So let’s get him that experience.
