  1. Thanks DT ULL 28-17-282-2-0
  2. First jumper from bridge just reported. Evidently it was some young kid that had once tried to walk on with the football program, but was kicked out of the program for being a douche. His girlfriend cheated on him. He transferred to another school because they were going to have college gameday there, but eventually realized what a huge mistake he had made, so he came back to UNT and ended it all. RIP Cougar King
  3. Now that TCU has sold it's soul to get in bed with UT, we better change th name to the whorn frogs. Be careful what you wish for.
  4. Based on your writing 'style', and your not so veiled attempts to slam UNT football, I can only conclude that you are a ULL fan in disguise.
  5. What's refreshing is this is the third one of these games this season, with Troy and Houston being the other two. Been a little while that this many games felt like they had this much meaning. Now we just need to win one of them...
  6. Well, well, well. Look who sobered up and came back into the light. The green light that is.
  7. I watched that game for FSSW last night in no huddle mode. That was some kind of fast paced game. I realize this is one of the best teams LA Tech has produced in quite some time, and it is not the norm, but I think we would have a tough time hanging with them this year. I will say that it was like watching a Dodge team. Let the opposition get out to a 27 point lead and then score like crazy before they know what hit 'em, only to come up a few points short in the end. Johnny Manzel is a creature that A&M has not had as long as I can remember and is a redshirt freshman. He will keep them in the hunt for the next 3 1/2 years. Whorns better be glad they are not playing.
  8. School Operating exp. (millions) Texas $133.7 Ohio State $122.3 Michigan $111.8 Florida $107.2 Alabama $105.1 Penn State $101.3 Auburn $100.5 Tennessee $97.6 Wisconsin $95.6 Oklahoma $94.4 Sources: Individual schools, compiled by USA TODAY in conjunction with Indiana University's National Sports Journalism Center.
  9. I had to make educated guesses on some of the players based on their experience. I do now see that Power was a transfer and is probably a Coach Mac recruit. I will update. I looked up the rules on redshirting and it is not exactly clear. Pretty much it looks like if you don't play a down one year it can count as a redshirt year. There does not appear to be official paperwork or anything, but if someone has insight please share. I got the 2 deep info from the most recent game notes so I am not sure how up to date it is. In terms of experience, SQ means that they are on the roster but have not played as best as I can tell. I would also like to try to figure out who is on scholarship and who is not, but that info may be hard to find. Based on the number of freshmen right out of high school, they can't all be on scholarship.
  10. I made an attempt to create a spreadsheet with the North Texas roster, including 2 deep depth chart and store it using Google Docs. Try the following link to see if you can open it: https://docs.google....S3c&output=html Once you start playing around by filtering the data based on starter/backup, recruiter, position, experience, etc... it gives you a little better picture of what kind of depth we have at certain positions. You can also see that there are still 2/3rds of our starters left over from TD players, but 2/3rds of our backups are Coach Mac players. Not surprising that our QB, RB, all WRs, and TE are Dodge players. With Coach Mac's propensity for running the ball, it is not surprising to see that he already has 3 of his recruits on the offensive line. Interestingly, the defensive line is mostly Dodge holdovers. Anyway, I thought it might be interesting to others. You should be able to copy and paste locally into your own spreadsheet program if you want to play around with the data. I tried to make the document public, but let me know if you have problems opening the document. If you see anything that looks incorrect, let me know.
  11. Here are DT's numbers so far this year: Att-Comp-Yds-Int-TD LSU 21-9-143-1-2 TSU 24-11-145-1-0 KSU 28-25-213-0-1 Troy 29-12-236-0-1 FAU 30-18-251-1-2 Coog 38-20-252-2-0 ULL has shown that their pass defense is a little more porous than their run defense. DT could do us all a huge favor and break out a 275yd 2 or 3 TD performance to help push this kind of talk off until at least the Spring.
  12. Can you get me the contact numbe?. I got an email the other day offering a diploma in any field of study I wanted for $99, but $80 sounds better to me, except that it would have Texas State on it. $20 is $20 though.
  13. Isn't different/creative what TD tried? His idea of opening up the other defense was to first let the opposing offense score 30 so their defense started playing prevent and then we score. How did that work out for us?
  14. Getcha popcorn ready!
  15. 28-6-3 We have played them more than any other team and have more wins against them than any other team. Bobcat taste gooood.
  16. Vizza is on the list by the way. Just for curiosity sake, here are UNT's all time leaders going into this season. DT now has 3,147 yds through 18 starts: 1. Mitch Maher, 1991-94 8,519 2. Steve Ramsey, 1967-69 7.076 3. Scott Davis, 1987-90 6,923 4. Scott Hall, 2000-04 5,975 5. Giovanni Vizza, 2007-08 5,146 6. Jason Mills, 1994-97 3,981 7. Vidal Carlin, 1965-66 3,233 8. Riley Dodge, 2008-10 3,187 9. Ken Washington, 1974-77 3,040 10. Greg Carter, 1980-83 2,848
  17. Those things you reference are all by choice on our part. It is part of our master plan. When the time is right we will reveal our real kickas plan that involves lots of wins, huge endowment, Tier 0 (better than tier 1), etc... to the rest of the world. And by the way, we say Claw 'em. You are the weakest link, goodbye.
  18. The purpose of the original post was to show that he hasn't performed as bad as it seems on the surface. In the bigger scheme of things, he is climing our all time chart in terms of yards (currently 9th and 100yds away from #7). He is currently 5th all time in passing efficiency and 4th all time in completion percentage. I get the fact that it has been frustrating to watch at times, and there are some types of throws that he has really struggled with this year, but when you look a little deeper he seems to have some ability. If he finishes out this year and keeps his starting job next year, he will end up near the top of several all time lists, yet here we are talking about replacing him with practically an unknown. Sometimes the devil you know is better than the one you don't. Someone sarcastically compared DT to Romo. I don't see that, but I see characteristics more similar of another certain Cowboy's quarterback that struggled with certain routes, but excelled at throwing short, precise routes and relied on a strong running game and defense. Things started rough for him in his first couple of seasons, and there was some talk about replacing him during those first couple of seasons, but things worked out pretty well in the end. At the end of the day, the biggest reason for our struggles this season is that we played a team that was a 42 point favorite and one that was 28 point favorite on the road. Outside of that, we are 2-2 and could easily be 3-1. When these kids have a fighting chance, they are gamers and getting better all the time.
  19. From this week's game notes: ... Thompson also climbed into the top-10 all-time in career passing yards at North Texas. Thompson crossed the 3,000 yard mark, only the 10th player in school history to do so, and sits with 3,147 career passing yards, which ranks 9th all-time. ... This makes me sad to think how poor our QB play has been over the years. 3,000 yards is a decent season at some programs.
  20. I don't care if we have to hook a bunch of you up to zip lines, some of your old asses are going across that bridge on Tuesday night. Mine included.
  21. That's pretty low mister. If I had a rubber hose, I would beat you.
  22. Pulling your QB is sand you can't put back in the bottle. A divided locker room does not help anybody and to me shows panic by the coaching staff. I am sure all the QB's had their chances in Spring practice and now in regular practice. It is up to the coaches to gameplan around any talent deficiencies. It isn't that hard to set up in 4 wides and still run when teams are stacking the box and you don't really trust your passing game. Screens, motion, misdirection, bootlegs. When you're not bigger and stronger, you can't just line up in double dynamite and run up the middle every time. Heaven forbid, play action more than 3 times a game. Come on man!
  23. You are like, so last week. Go play with UAB.
  24. Dear Lord baby Jesus, lyin' there in your ghost manger, just lookin' at your Baby Einstein developmental videos, learnin' 'bout shapes and colors. I would like to thank you for bringin' me and my mama together, and also that my kids no longer sound like retarded gang-bangers. Please put SWTXSUSM on our schedule so we can kick their arse.
