  1. testeses rhymes with breasteses
  2. What would be a ballpark figure of how much this game cost us?
  3. Fortunately, you can watch UNT play soccer today.
  4. Baseball is a pretty prominent sport in CUSA as well. I would also hope we add baseball before soccer.
  5. Guilty... I am trying to make an effort. If it wasn't here, it would be somewhere.
  6. With all the attendance smack that one has to endure in the world of messageboards, I thought I would try to put together some rough numbers regarding Apogee. I did base the numbers off of the seating charts on TicketMaster, but I also tried to keep things in nice round numbers so I am sure there will be discrepancies on individual sections. Once you start looking at the numbers, it is a little easier to get an idea of butts in seats when looking out across the stadium. 7. And if we don't win at least 6, we have 0%. Beat MTSU. GMG
  8. I agree with UNT90 that our chances of avoiding a 5 game home schedule one or more years between 2014-2018 with the games that are already on the schedule, especially in 2015. But you never know how things will turn out. With the way things are in college football due to realignment, the landscape could look different in the next few years. It will be interesting to see how things turn out.
  9. And if a couple of plays went our way in the Troy game, we could have easily won, which would have changed a lot of people's view of that game. Reality is that most games between evenly matched teams come down to the outcome of 4 or 5 plays. Welcome to coaching. You put in hours and hours of work and preparation and your ultimate success comes down to the outcome of a couple of games per year, which come down to how a bunch of 18-20 year olds execute 4 or 5 key plays during a game. It was 3rd and long at the UNT 22 when JimJim took it to the house. If they tackle for no gain and we have to punt into the wind, who knows how it might turn out. Nothing a little Grey Goose won't cure, as they say in the business.
  10. I don't completely disagree, but the final part of next year's OOC schedule was announced less than a year in advance. We need to address a single game on the 2014 schedule, 2 games on the 2015 schedule, and a game each in 2016, 2017, and 2018. I'm just saying I am comfortable that there is ample time to work something out.
  11. It will be awfully tough to get through 2018 with 6 home games each year unless some things change, but plenty of time to worry about that later. Really jazzed about next year's OOC, as well as potential conference schedule. Not that we will win them, but having 3 of 4 OOC games against comparable competition is huge. Paycheck games are still undesirable in my book, but one is at least acceptable when the other 3 games are reasonable. Kudos to the athletic department.
  12. So it sounds like the whispers turned out to be true. Great. Nice recognizable name that we should be favored against at home. Based on our available dates, I am assuming this will be our season opener, also as rumored. Question for those in the know. Is this a home/home or is this a buy game for us? If home/home, when is the return?
  13. Ummm...guilty. A fine knive and gun club. Cut your way in, shoot your way out...
  14. I really hope the series with smoo benefits both programs to the point that it becomes a permanent fixture on the schedule. I certainy think it will help attendance for both those first few meetings.
  15. Nobody said there would be a test.
  16. I cannot understand how they got that number. I saw their stands and I saw ours and one of the numbers is way off. No way the two games had anywhere close to the same attendance. Our two stadiums hold roughly the same and it looked like they had half, maybe 2/3rds (very generous) the number of people in attendance. They have to be counting tickets sold, plus student ids swiped.
  17. Nah, but he might want to consider teaching the OL and WRs how to tackle a little better.
  18. Congrats to the girls. As I understand it, CUSA is quite the futbol conference. Has there been any substantive discussion about fielding a mens team?
  19. Just heard the smoo announcer in the background congratulate fans on keeping the consecutive sellout streak alive. I know lots of smoo attorneys. Accountants, not so much.
  20. It wouldn't matter, when Coach Mac was hired, we acquired his DNA and the UNT Health Science Center has been growing Coach Mac clones. We will soon release our army of Coach Macs when the time is right. Sorry SMOO, you can't buy your way out of this one.
  21. In one of Coach Mac's appearances last week, he mentioned something about a top recruit that was going to be at the game and that he might be to the point of making a commitment by the end of the night. Anyone have any scoop on who it was and whether or not he committed?
  22. Yep. He will do good things for that team the next couple of years. If the kid from Pflugerville signs with UNT and focuses on putting on about 30-35 lbs by the end of his (hopefully) redshirt season next year, he could be that type of player.
  23. I was at the game and it was a nice crowd and enthusiastic while being played, but did not give me the impression that it was especially loud when I was there. However, when I rewatched the game on ESPN3, it sounded extremely loud. Don't know if they were doing something to make it sound that way through the broadcast, but I thought it made it sound like it was a full house and left a very good impression on the viewer.
  24. How about a field rush of streakers. Entire student section disrobe and go. Now that would be epic.
  25. Will somebody please get DT a decent haircut, or just shave it.
