You are correct, nothing official announced yet. Just speculation at this point as to where the CUSA #1 will play starting next year. I will update original post.
-
Next game that matters is the championship game of Sun Belt tourney? Assuming we get there? This team has plenty of talent, and will be fun to watch once they get rolling, but we ain't getting an at large with that loss. Let's get some guys healthy and see what happens.
-
Yes.
-
Plus, the CUSA conference championship game is played at the home of the division winner with best record, and if you happen to win the championship and don't make access bowl, you still play in the CUSA #1 bowl. Lot's of positives for the CUSA team that plays well.

. Wait... so you are married?

UTSA game can be TEX-MEX Bowl brought to you by Taco Bell. Ole!
-
Would be cool if we could somehow grow a rivalry in conference and OOC.
-
For the negative Nancy's, I agree that it is a remote/remote/remote possibility (we are a -10 road underdog). But can you believe how fun it would be, if they somehow find a way to sneak past ULM this weekend and having a potential .500 season on the line in the last game? The last several years we were not even competitive for the most part. Even if we do end up getting kicked in the nuts, it is way better to have some hope than none at all. Maybe Browning won't have his best game this week coming off an injury and we can play a complete game. BEAT ULM! GO MEAN GREEN!

Why are they not finishing the fight song?
CurveItAround replied to BIG DAWG's topic in Mean Green Football
Yep. In conjunction with the 100 year throwback season. Did some people think it was for a different reason? -
Yep, that's why we get 25 per year. Can't always predict what will happen when kids get weaned off the teet. Pressure to peform does strange things to people (in sports and in life). It makes some people focus, while it makes others fold. It's better we find out early before a lot of time is wasted.

Haters gonna hate. Quitters gonna quit.
-
Geez. I get the feeling some of you would rather the team just quit instead of keep playing. The title of the original post was 'road to BOWL ELIGIBILITY'. It wasn't, 'ok, now that we have beat USA which bowl do we want to go to'. The odds are still very much stacked against us even getting bowl eligible, much less getting an invite if we get to that point.

I must be misunderstanding. I doubt you are suggesting our coaches don't try to work with incoming players and develop them. My point was only that, despite all the coaching and training they provide, coaches never really know which players are going to step up and successfully transition from high school to college and it is ultimately a numbers game. If coaches knew that which ones would succeed, they wouldn't need 25 recruits per year. They recruit what they believe are successful characteristics at each position that translate to the college game and hope that they are correct on more recruits than they are not. Add in injuries, grades, etc... and it really becomes a numbers game. I am sure Coach Mac thought sampson had a lot of ability, and was real disappointed when walkons were beating him out for playing time. Some kids respond to a challenge and some look for an easier situation. Best of luck to him in his new situation. I hope we are able to recruit more with his size and one of them will develop into a player.
-
Agreed. We won't be able to recruit a finished product with that size, but that's why we have to keep bringing in a couple each year and stockpiling them. Eventually you hope one of them is a late bloomer that by the time he is a redshirt sophmore, he is able to find it.

Kevin Kisseberth always seemed a little undersized to me.
-
Their shooting arms were very undisciplined in making the ball go in the hole.

I have the 10th rated passing offense, 49th rated rushing offense, 44th rated scoring offense, and 81st rated scoring defense in the country. I don't play in a power confeence, but I played 2 SEC teams within a touchdown and beat a solid Navy team in OOC play, but I am only 3-3 in my conference and 5-5 overall. Who am I? I am Troy University, and I play in a much improved Sunbelt, where wins against even the bottom teams are getting tougher to come by. Troy has one more win than we do at this point. I believe our program is better than it was 2 years ago, and that it is still improving.

What you you guys talking about? We just played in, and won, a bowl game (senior bowl).
-
It would not surprise me for him to have success. He should be bigger/faster/stronger than quite a few in that league and will be able to out athlete some folks.
-
Bummer. Was really hoping he could figure it out, but looked like he was steadily working himself down the the depth chart. With the new guys joining next year, I guess he didn't like his prospects.
-
It seemed like every time I noticed, #27 Lee was playing safety instead of #5 Busby. Did Lee regain his spot? It looked like Busby had a couple of pretty poor games against ASU and MT after replacing Lee as the starter in the MT game.

Next week brings another opportunity to end this goofy two wins in a row streak. Let's end it!
-
Technically, it would require 3 wins in a row.
-
Based on the way he reacted, it had the appearance of a stinger. Hoping for good news.
