  1. Yep... The bar I run went non smoking. I am a little scared of how this might hurt business, since we do not have a patio. However, I do not smoke so it is a welcome change.
  2. Not sure... Sadly, none of the people I hung out with at UNT went. We should have but that was the way it was back then. The funny part is that all those guys come up every year for a game and we have a great time. Not sure why we did not care more back in the day. We get season tickets now and donate what we can.
  3. I think we should be ranked higher but turnout is still pretty sad. Also, he is right about even when we were good the turnout was bad. When I was in school 2001 through 2004 no one I hung out with, went to games. People did not even care (not to say you personally did not, but most the student body). I recall talking about the 2002 bowl win with a guy I knew before a class started in Wooten hall, and no one around us even knew we played a bowl game. This has gotten better. I see Mean Green shirts and hats everywhere but we still need to get better.
  4. My buddy and I walked out on orientation in the spring and went to the Tomato. When we came back everyone was registering for classes on those crappy green phones. We missed the entire part where they explained how to do it. Needless to say, I signed up for the wrong classes. PS Does anyone remember those green phones and that horrible system for registering?
  5. GOOD JOBS YOU CRAZY JOCKS!
  6. Mr Frosty's is number 1! Well, except in service. Unless, you like guys who never smile to take your order (I think it is funny). Food is great though.
  7. I love it! 6'0" in college but 6'2" in high school. When I was in high school I got moved up to varsity my sophomore year and I was about 5'10" weighed about 175, and my head coach listed me as 6'0" and 195. He also order me a XXL letter jacket and told me I had to grow into it. I think I grew into it when I was about 25.
  8. If he has not played football in a year or so is it possible he does not weigh 220 anymore? Heck he could be a d lineman for all we know now. Either way, he has talent and I am excited!
  9. I have to agree. Young kids do not get how dead a college campus gets during the summer.
  10. Man... DT looks amazing! Everyone played a great game that day. I must have forgot because of all the crap performances after that. I hope they can play like this every game next season.
  11. No Felix Jones (thank god) and DeMarco Murry is injury prone. They need Dunbar and it is great he will get another chance to prove himself.
  12. I will be honest. Till last year I did not even know about most of our game day traditions. None of my friends ever got involved in them. We were always real loud and supported the team when we went to games but never worried too much about the chants. Now that I have seen how much they can get the crowd going, I am all for them.
  13. Hopefully he will get another chance. Some school will take him. Heck I wish we had him.
  14. I wonder where this moron is going to land. Where ever it is they are going to be lucky. That is unless he tries to get on a NFL team.
  15. Still an upgrade from the SunBelt.
  16. Not once did I have a positive experience with an advisor at UNT during my undergraduate work. I think I had three different ones in the college of arts and sciences alone. That may have been the issue.
  17. Seduce really just means to lead astray. It does not have to be about sex.
  18. Maybe Mac can seduce him and he will come and play at UNT.
  19. I know two people that played football at UT and both got suspended for smoking weed. Every year I read about more and more of their players failing drug tests.
  20. Those UT backs can suck it! Overrated as a group.
  21. I have graduated twice from two different colleges and never walked. Just did not want to deal with it. Plus, my family did not care if I did or not. Instead we had parties and ate a bunch of BBQ. That is the way to do it. No waiting for hours to get a symbolic piece of paper till your real diploma comes in the mail. With all that being said... If I would have graduated in 2004, when I was supposed to and would have walked with some of my old UNT buddies... I probably would have done it. The main thing is to celebrate it in some way, walk or no walk.
  22. Where do you live/family: I live in Denton with my wife that graduated from UNT and our baby that should be born around August 5th. Degree/Year attended/graduated UNT: I went to UNT off and on for 8 years. Then got in trouble and graduated else where. I was too busy working on Fry Street and drinking to care about school when I was young. Finished my a Masters in Liberal Arts from TCU in December 2012. I am going to go back to UNT this summer to get a graduate certificate in Hospitality Management. That way I got something, other than good memories out of UNT. Favorite NT Memory: Playing in a flag football tournament at Baylor representing UNT and wrecking shop! That is until the flag football team from Arkansas, with fake Jeff Garcia kicked our butts. It was pretty cool meeting my wonderful wife as well. Favorite NT Sports Memory: The 2002 New Orleans bowl when UNT beat Cincinnati. That and going to a game that season with my dad and watching him get every cheer wrong. Also, he clapped off rhythm the entire time. Great times!
