Alumni Pavilion tomorrow...
North Texas Shep replied to North Texas Shep's topic in Mean Green Football
My wife and I are proud members and I will do my best to get my buddies to re-join today (almost certain these guys were members). Can't wait! This is going to be a great day. -
Alumni Pavilion tomorrow...
North Texas Shep replied to North Texas Shep's topic in Mean Green Football
I know last year for homecoming it was open for everyone. Last year only one out of 3 was a member and we just walked in. -
What is going on there and what time does it start? My wife and I are coming with some old school buddies. Will there be any free goodies and will my buddies need to be Alumni members to get in? I recall it was free for everyone last year.

Had to leave at half to get home to the family... It was not good before I left. Another fun year...

I hate SMU! I mean hate SMU. Always have and always will. It is just the way it is and always has been. In fact I got kicked off the campus when I was 19 for attempting to rough up some kids that were picking on my cousin who was on scholarship there for being so poor. So, I would love to have a rivalry with them and yes they can have more than one. Many teams have multiply rivals. We all know this. I just believe that we need to build one with UTSA because they do not have one at all in CUSA and neither do we. SMU is in a different conference. UTSA can be our conference rival from Texas. It just makes sense.

Heck I recall how bad it was in the early 2000's... Never been great but we are still growing and moving in the right direction.

SMU has a rival and we will never be it. We may not like each other but they will never be a real rival. UTSA is a good fit because they need a in conference rival and so do we.

We need to go FCS for sure. There is not need to try to got crazy and play a top ten school. UT will have a high enough ranking. They do almost every year at the beginning of the season. If we beat them then we will move way up, no matter where we are ranked before the game.

After this season he will be getting a raise. At least I believe he deserves it.

Rivalry Trophies and Starting a Tradition
North Texas Shep replied to casual fan's topic in Mean Green Football
Silver spoon wouldn't work. We would never want to be associated with that. I think building something with UTSA would be best. I already hate the idea of losing to them and I am not a fan of San Antonio (except the Alamo). Maybe not a sign in a bucket but we could call it the "Battle Over I35". I am sure we could come up with a good trophy with a I35 sign on it. -
Games like this can be a trap, but I do not believe this team with doubt any opponent they have (especially homecoming). We need to run onto that field and kick some mother freaking teeth in on both sides of the ball. As far as I am concerned UTEP is trapped and weak, and we are about to go in for the kill! HIT #7 GO MEAN GREEN

When I was working on my undergrad I maybe went to five games total because of the same reasons. All the bowl games I watched on TV. Apogee is much better and the students seem to really be into it. I love it!

Every student I served this Sunday, I made sure enlighten them on the success of the Mean Green. Most knew about it but I told them all they better be at the game this week. Spread the word! GO MEAN GREEN!

You are such a internet baller.

As some of you guys know I got a masters at TCU in 2012. My dad really wanted to get season tickets this year for TCU. I told him fine but it would be the last year and we need to support the Mean Green. The game last night was just sad (as many have been this season). The young fans at TCU have always got on my nerves. My first year there was 2011 and was coming off the a Rose Bowl win and a #2 end of the season ranking. With all that being the case the students still could not stay an entire game and support their team. As I understand it is a tradition for some to leave at half time and get drinks. That was what I was told at least. If it that is they case then that tradition sucks and needs to be changed. One more thing that does not make sense to me is the way they set up their season tickets. They are allowing people to buy way too many and these people are just selling them to whoever they want. Some real fans are missing out on getting tickets so people can profit. At the UT game there were 9 orange shirts in our section alone. It was like that all over the stadium. It was almost as bad yesterday for WV. I honestly believe that TCU will be able to compete in the Big 12 one day. They need to work on depth and also needs to work on their crowd. The Big 12 can not be happy with the attendance issue they are having. Also, BEAT UTEP FOR HOMECOMING! GO MEAN GREEN! Can not wait. I have my six tickets. Only UNT fans will be seated in them.

This makes me so happy. I regret that all the years I was at UNT and living in Denton I did not go to games. These last three years have been awesome. Just getting better and better.

Yep... Still did a great job! If he would have missed some of those open field tackles on those bubble screen and quick passes they could have got some big yards. He did his job and did it well last night. Now he needs to do it to UTEP! HOMECOMING MOFOS!
