  1. I do not believe athletics is the main cause of any of our woes, but did we really show a $4 million profit in the athletics department? That seems a little high ( I would think in athletics over all we would not have any profit. Like many schools). I go to plenty of games and just do not see how that is possible, even with teams paying us so much to play them in Football.
  2. i am just amazed a mistake like this can happen. This is a big blow for our fine schools image. No worries, we will bounce back!
  3. So, you are saying he plans on enrolling at unt in the spring?
  4. Badass! Congrats to the crew and all their hard work.
  5. Sounds like a great idea. That is if it is enforced in all levels and areas.
  6. This is good. There are diamonds in the rough. Kids work so hard for the sports they love. Good to hear no matter who they are our coaches give them respect.
  7. Not sure how I missed that. Thanks
  8. To be honest I voted down the fee when I was in school. Now that I am older and better educated I realize I was wrong to do that. I am a real F the system kind of guy, even now. These upgrades only bring more minds into the fold. Academics should be broad and quality sports only help enforce that. However, when the programs get too large, academics can be thrown aside and too often then not academic issues are ignored. I feel like CUSA is a good middle ground. I have no doubt academics matter here and discourse between students is vital to the educationwe provided. The more the merrier as long as we have plenty of quality staff. Which, the vote did not affect that.
  9. Looks great. It is like no lineman saw him. He never got blocked.
  10. Well... At least we tied the mighty UT in draft picks. UT and their t-shirt fans can suck it. I hope we smack them in the mouth the first game next season.
  11. Big fast WRs are what we need. I hope we can keep him till the of the recruiting process. Welcome to the Mean Green Rodney!
  12. I feel the same way... Not ideal but I think the ladies can make it happen. They need to make sure not to leave any runners on base and get as many runs as possible (of course this is the goal every game). Can not wait!
  13. So glad I paid to watch that. It was a crazy game but a good win.
  14. Do they have size 13? I need a pair of them!
  15. Dodge was a huge mistake and step back for our program. Those dark ages are gone. Let the age of enlightenment under Mac continue and prosper for years to come.
  16. Will anyone show the softball game? I see that it is at 5:30 Thursday. This better be on some channel.
  17. True... I would hate for the system to be even less fair. However I was trying to consider a way all D1 schools could afford the possible change. Sorry I forgot to explain that.
  18. Arkstfan you always provide great insight and interesting content. Thank you for this. I believe the stipend could kill some programs. This is clear, but large universities like North Texas should be able to handle this burden. If anything this will just be one more way to seperate the men from the boys. Hopefully, this would keep UNT with the men, where we should be. Do I think the stipend is the right thing to do? Yes, but that goes for all athletes. The amount a player recieves should be decided by the amount of scholarship they recieve (full ride, half, or one semester). The more a athlete recieves then the more stipend they recieve. If it is done in a manor like this then the budget could be better controlled. Also, this is a fair way to do it because this is the way it is. Better athletes get full rides (more money) and lesser athletes get less then that.
  19. Awesome! I hope the conference tourney is televised.
  20. They can suck my mean green rod. Booyeah!
  21. I bet Mean Joe would love to sign that bad boy.
  22. Someone will beat them. I mean we will beat them in the conference championship atleast.
