That is awesome. CC is one of the sports I wish I would have done in high school. I ran track and would practice with the cross country guys in the morning all the time. Glad to see we have this talented group of kids.

I think we can luck into two or three wins. Hopefully, it is more but I doubt it. I am more concerned about our recruiting. That must pick up or we are looking at even more crap seasons. This a great school, in a great town, and now has support from students. Now is the time to improve and instead we are back tracking. Sucks!

Transferred from College Station (Because it sucks) in Jan. 2001. From then to 2005 I maybe went to 5 games and from 05 to 2010 one or two. Watched the bowl runs staring in 2001 on TV, but was not a good fan. I was all about hating football since I got hurt in high school and had to pay for college. Then I went to TCU for Grad school and my dad drove up for pretty much all the games they had in my time there (He did not have much interest in watching UNT games when I was enrolled there). When UNT had home games and TCU did not I came to Apogee, starting in 2011. Have been a season ticket holder at UNT since 2010 (Did not get tickets 2011 and 2012, because I went to free games at TCU, when I was a student). Still watch TCU games but rarely in person. I like the atmosphere and people more at UNT. Less rich turds at UNT, but I support both teams.

Lance just had a huge 39-yard reception!

Dunbar can really football! Dez will be out for some time and Weeden will be checking down to Witten and the RBs. Hopefully, that will help Dunbar get the ball, even more. Hey, Tebow is a valid back up. Probably, not better than Weeden though. -
Iowa Fans do "UNT Players Separated at Birth"

This is how the look a like thread is supposed to be. It is odd how our fan base does not get it. -
I do not need a babysitter.

Realistic expectations for this program
North Texas Shep replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I have only one expectation at this point... To try to win as many as these guys can. This year is looking like a bust, we all know it. I will still watch and support these kids that are working hard. Hopefully, the changes for next year are made, or they will lose a lot of fans and donors. In the end all this crap goes back on the AD and coaches. -
There were two 60 year old guys out there. What a joke!

handicap shuttle from parking lot

My pops and I just yell at them when they pass. His scream of "disabled vet", always helps. He really is, I just have a busted spine. -
Got the mom and inlaws to watch the baby, and we are ready to get down. Plus, two of my great friends from UNT got married today and will be having a party tomorrow after the game. Hope my wife is down for the long haul. I know I am.

Good job. Also, I hope I am wrong and someone else can prove to suck less.
-
No, I know he only had one offer. UNT and it is because of his dad. I don't think I implied otherwise. I even stated he is here because of the connection between Coach Mac and his Pops.
-
No I stated in another post I believe him getting here was because of the connection. I just don't think he is forced onto the field just because of that fact. That would be crazy. Coaches want to win. If there was a better option right now, he or she would be out there. If McNulty is showing a hint of suck he should be pulled. It should bever get to three picks. If Coach Mac let's it get that far he sucks.

It made no sense for them to send Lil Mac out at the end. I said the same thing during the game. There is nothing wrong with throwing a player out there and seeing what he has. This back up could have proved he was the man and boom we have a new starter. Who knows. To be honest during the game I wanted a back up to come in Athapaskan, because Lil Mac seemed scared and indecisive. If he satraps the Rice game like that they must pull him. I am also losing hope. I watch my other alma mater, Tcu and what they have achieved, and just wish it was UNT that did those things. The powers that be keep screwing up and shooting themselves in the foot, every chance they get. I missed that during the game with Osborn, but that does not surprise me at all. It is just par for the course. The Heart of Dallas Bowl was a great time and I hate that now we are back to not knowing if we will win one day game.

Look Internet tough guy, I am not being sensitive. Say "our" if that is what you mean next time, not "your". As stated in my first post... I want to be wrong and hope he is a better option. When I first found out he was coming here I was excited because of his track record, but something isn't right if he has not already proved he can do it. Like I said the coaches want to win. It is there asses if they don't. I really do not believe these theories being thrown around that Lil Mac is the starter because his dad is buddies and fellow Hawkeye alumni with Mac. I believe that Lil Mac got an offer because the relationship, but that is as far as that most likely goes. Also, if Lil Mac sucks it up the first half and is not pulled I will also lose my shit. Most coaches do not want to be wrong and will give a kid a try to start game two (Regardless if he started some games last year or not). So we shall see. Either way, I hope to God we beat Rice. We will not if Andrew Football plays like last week and goes 4 quarters. We have all figured that out.

I am not buying anything anyone is shoveling down my throat. You might want to watch it with that talk. I am just throwing out a hypothetical situation. We all keep assuming he is amazing. We thought the same about Berglund and that was not the case.
-
Good one.
-
What if Smith is third string because he sucks? These coaches want to win, they like their jobs. If he was good he would be playing right now. Last year they skipped over Lil Mac twice. He may be the only choice. Think about that. It might just be the truth. Believe me I want to be wrong but I might be right.
-
This game makes me nervous (Hell they all do). Hopefully, the coaches have made some improvements from last week. Our defense should be good. As we all know, offense is the issue. While, I hope we improve greatly from last week. I also hope Rice learns nothing and does way worse. It could happen.

Better spent as buyout money.

Projected attendance for Rice game?
North Texas Shep replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
What was our average last year? I think the kids will still show up. It is our first CUSA game and first home game. Now if we lose, they might as well cancel the rest of the home games. -
I never said 10 points is enough. What I did say was it is not just Lil Macs fault we lost. I agree 10 points will not beat Port St. He won the job because he was the best QB in practice. Which I saw. So don't say he never should have been out there. That is silly. Do I think Smith has more talent and ability? Hell yes. Does he know enough of the playbook to lead this team? I have no clue and neither do you. It seems that everyone is making assumptions about other QB options and running with it. We all did that with Berglund. That got us no where. From the beginning I stated It is hard to judge anyone from the first game of the season. That is why he should get the start. If he sucks, then pull him. Did someone say it was?
