Favorite place on campus...
North Texas Shep replied to North Texas Shep's topic in Mean Green Football
When I was picking up shifts there two years ago they got rid of the Cool Beans burger. People lost their shit. Especially, older people like me. So many people would come in town and want one, and I would have to let them down. It was a sad time. I hope they brought it back. Just not the same. -
Favorite place on campus...

When I workd at Lous and Cool Beans it was the same. If you had to go, the Language Building and GAB were the place to go. -
Reading all the football negativity and feeling it myself, made me think about what I loved about UNT when I went to school here as an undergrad. While at UNT I changed my major three times and spent most my time worrying about things outside of school (Women, booze, live music, and etc.), there was one place I loved more than anywhere else... Wooten hall. Most importantly those wooden benches on the second floor. I spent hours studying, cramming before tests, meeting people, eating food from the make shift store on the first floor, and even sleeping off hangovers, right there on those benches. So much was learned at that spot. I watched people go up and down those stairs. Made friends that would last a lifetime. Above all else I just took in our campus and the people that make it up. We are a diverse and beautiful group of people. I feel, looking back on it, that I was at home there. No matter if I was avoiding a roommate in Bruce Hall, or in later years, getting away from the horrible efficiency I rented for $300 a month on Normal St... I was at home there amoungst the people that make this school amazing, sitting right there on those benches. These are hard times for our football program we love, but do not forget the things that make this campus great. Never forget that no matter how mad we are about the bad plays and horrible choices made by the athletics program, we are lucky to be a part of this great institute of learning. So, take a moment if you will, and share your favorite place on campus and take a breather from the stress associated with being a Mean Green sports fan. As we all know, it ain't always easy being green. However, we always will be. CAW TILL I DIE!

In no way are these kids quitters. They work hard for a trash system, with coaches who seem to be blind to the reality of the situation.
-
That helps. We can make it happen without millions pumped in also. The admins just need to make a smart hire. Get an AD who is making things happen on a lower level. Just someone who excites the kids and fan base. It really will be horrible if they do not fire Mac and RV after this season and get someone else in here.

Alec Morris - Allen HS QB class of 2012
North Texas Shep replied to BillySee58's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Who cares if they are here one year! If they are better skilled and can produce winning drives then let them all transfer here! -
We were an underdog in the Iowa game as well, but at least we have a chance to beat USM. If we win the turnover battle our guys can win this game. Get pressure and cause the QB to make some bad throws.
-
Effort is what gets you places in recruiting. We need young players that can red shirt and spend every year in the system cultivating. Jucos are good, sometimes. Most teams do not just scoop a Juco every year at QB and have success. Some do, but not most.
-
That is because only Aggie students and redneck racist turds (That can not afford to go to Europe) like them.
-
You have to admit... It is not hard to catch on.
-
What QBs have we offered for 2016? I hope a few and ones we can actually get. I do not care if they are 5'9, as long as they can throw and play the position.

Radio Show- Is Someone Going to Confront Mac?
North Texas Shep replied to meanJewGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
It blows my mind to not allow questions from the crowd. What the hell is point of the show then? We rarely learn anything new from it and all we get is coach speak. At least when you get crowd questions you might get a real answer from the coach. Well you might from some other coaches.- 37 replies

It is odd to me that Smith was not given a bigger chance at the end of the Iowa game. I know he has not been perfect in practice but hell, let him go and throw it around a little. They gave Greer a chance and he proved he is the same Ol' Greer. Yes, the system is flawed. RV should never be able to give himself a raise. No one should give RV a raise. I hope to god he gets none of the money from the McNatt money. We need that for ungrades and for buy out money. Not for RV to get another Jag. I believe Dajon go chances. He just screwed it up everytime. At least that is what I was told by some folks involved in the program.

I always rep one of the colleges I graduated from. UNT is my favorite since I have way more ties. No matter if the sports teams suck, we are lucky to have such a great community around UNT (Full of mostly UNT students and alumni). Rep the CAW till I die!

Ryan Rentfro drops knowledge on us....the "faithful"
North Texas Shep replied to All About UNT's topic in Mean Green Football
I ge that, but I do not see these guys not working hard on the field. I just see them losing. They try. The coaches however get paid a shit ton to produce wins. These coaches do not do that. It could be because they can not recruit, set up a good game plan, or many other reasons. Prepare kids to not make mistakes and give them a chance. I do not see the coaches doing this. -
We are worse and sadly the coaches have not done what is needed to get better. It is hard to watch hard working young men get a raw deal because the game plan sucks.

North Texas Shep replied to All About UNT's topic in Mean Green Football
I believe these kids work hard and I am behind them every game, but Mack is not the coach to take us anywhere. RV, we all know sucks. In some regards he is right though. There are a few guys that want to bitch and moan about everything that happens. Even in good times they are there. Respect the players and blame the coaches. They are the ones putting kids on the field and not giving them the tools for success. These kids work hard to be where they are and work harder to stay there. -

I have been out of the loop since I stopped buying season tickets after Benford's first season. Have we got any good recruits worth mentioning for this upcoming season?

I live in Watauga and would love to meet up with some Mean Green fans in the area (Keller possibly) to watch away games. Anyone down to get down?
