1st off Soza played a heck of a game. Their OC called plays that fit what he did best. He didn't throw a lot of down the field out pattern stuff. It was quick screen and quick hitches. He was accurate enough to place balls in the void between our LBs and DBs too. I thought Chico did a bad job of putting Derek in unfavorable situations. We forced the passing game. You don't need a big tall QB to be successful in our offense or any play action stuff. You need to be accurate and have a strong arm. If you've got those two things your going to be successful. The small QBs who are successful at running a prostyle offense are very good at finding the passing lanes so you don't see a lot of batted down balls. See Russell Wilson and Drew Brees. The most accurate passer on our team is Dajon Williams by far, its not even close. I think next year you will see a team more spread than under center. Running the ball will still be a focus, but there will be more spread principles.

I don't. I felt the biggest eyesore was the week atendance and our oline and dlines getting flat out dominated.

Really people? Derek Thompson is terrible? The loss is on him? You guys are approaching insanity. He played average on Saturday. He made enough throws that with a little help we could have won the game. Thompson has never been the guy who UNT could solely rely on to win a game. He needs help from everyone around him including the coach staff. Saturday he didn't get that help. He missed on some throws, he had some drop passes on big 3rd downs, and he wasn't helped out by his OC. Here's a thought why did the offense panic? Why did we throwing the ball 46 times on a blustery winter day when we are a running team? We didn't stay patient with our running game like we always do and it cost us. So for those of you who are trying to place all or most of blame on DT please grow up. His play on Saturday was not the only reason we lost the game.

I hear what your saying, Dodge didn't leave a team full of pros though. Yes he left some talent, but no winning attitude. Coker got like 20 pros and a team that already knew how to win.
-
I look at coaching staffs as a whole. I would still take Coach Mac over Coker in a head to head to. I don't discount the fact that Coker won a NC, because that's hard to do. But lets be honest he was gift wrapped that team. Butch Davis recruited that team. I give Coker credit for keeping the team together though and staying out of the way. He is certainly doing a great job at building a program at UTSA, but I think Coach Mac is slightly better in game management.

No problem. I'll stick to what I said on Mean Green Nation's Podcast this week. 24-14. In ugly weather I'll take the team that has the best ugly style. UTSA will be ready to play just not sure they have enough depth and talent to endure 4 quarters of physical football.

Don't know how that got mixed up when I copied it over going to fix it.

So was Michigan St. and I'd say they are pretty good at rebounding.
-
We will find out on Friday. There maybe something new in store for this week.
-
Well they are assuming that we wont score on special teams or defense. Their basis is our offense just isn't that good. I say its good enough to score more point than them and that's all that matters.

Q&A With UTSA Blog: Cooler Chronicles

You are who you are. That's their game and they will try it. Just like UNT will try to run the ball constantly against the loaded box. It's all about execution from here on in. -
I agree turning point was Tulane so the MTSU becomes your defining game.
-
So your saying this season was defined by a loss? Maybe Tulane game was the turning point but not the defining game.
-
The Zac Whitfield INT for a TD against La Tech. This has been a different team since that point. It gave them confidence that they could win on the road. May not get a lot of pub from you guys, but it's certainly top 5 worthy

I'm not an ESPN or a Fox Sports, but I put out a power poll based on all kinds of sources, other ranking, stats, and everything I reflect back on. I'd say I'm a pretty big basketball watcher. I always take vacation for march madness. So I'd say and most people who know me say that I know what I'm talking about.

Dallas Morning News' Tim Cowlishaw on UNT

All it takes to change a program is two guys. One you have to have the right coach. Two you land a player that will change the face of your program. Does he have to be a top recruit? No. But you bring in a kid like RGIII who was overlooked as a QB and there ya go. Their are plenty of kids who get overlooked or who develop better in college than big times schools expect. Maybe Dajon becomes that kid for us, who knows. I could careless if a newspaper guy says we will never amount to anything. It won't really affect the growth of this program. I don't think our recruits are flocking to the newsstand to pick up a paper anyways. -
I'm looking for a parking pass for the UTSA game. I got a buddy going who is bringing his wife (she is pregnant). Anyways they can't ride with us so I'm looking for a parking pass for them so she doesn't have to walk far.
-
I know you where sorry if you think I was calling you out or something. I was just stating where I thought we were in relation to them.
-
It doesn't matter where we play them. They will be a 10 to 12 point favorite.

I know we all rip Benford and the players, but I think the thing you have to take from the early games is take no win for granted. Almost everybody is struggling.
