  1. They are losing DT commits bc their DT coach left for USC. I think his name was Bo Davis. I don't think UNT offered the guys that decommited. Could be wrong.
  2. Agreed there is a lot that didn't go right for them on offense too. If you need an example go watch the Oregon game. They don't have a QB Their OL is soft and below avg Their WRs are unproductive after Shipley. They lose their #1 Mike Davis On offense it's all about Malcolm Brown for them. Gray is coming off a big injury. Their DL depth is razor thin. Especially if Cedric Reed declares Their LBs are some of the most undiciplined I've ever seen. Still they are really good athletes just need to be put in the right position They lose their best CB and the rest are avg. I'd imagine their new DC Bedford who is a DB coach will have them playing at a higher level by next yr Two matchups that we are better than them right now is: UNT OL over the UT DL UNT secondary over the UT WRs and passing game
  3. Not totally true. You focus only on the next game up. For us that's UT. When the time comes we will talk UTSA. Until then they are a small bugger on the radar screen after you just sneezed on it. Just wipe it off and focus on what's in front of us
  4. Naw it didn't escalate. You pose a fair statement. With so much coverage from rivals and 247 sites it's easy to fork over some money to get info and claim it yours just to look like a big shot. I could careless how I look. I don't get paid to get info so I would never make people pay for info. I don't use those sites for my info. I have people that I trust that I turn to for info. When I get it and its relevant to UNT I'll pass it a long. All the UT talk is bc we are playing them at a unique time. A time when we are trending up and they are going through major changes. I felt the OC + DC info was relevant bc those are the guys we will preping for in our opening game. I know whoever they pick I'm going to study so I can get a feel for what we can expect come Aug 31st next year.
  5. The players and coaches believe so why can't we as fans? If we chose not to believe we will fail. I chose to believe we can win this game because I know our coaches and players will be prepared. They will go into Austin believing they can win and I'll be right there with them. So screw what UTSA fans think.
  6. They are looking at bringing in the OC Shawn Watson from Louisville. If that does happen it would be a big mistake in my opinion. Watson and Louisville D cord V Bedford interviewed for the Louisville job. Both are candidates for the openings in Austin
  7. Just goes to show you what the right hire can do for your program. Consistently starting in the 90s to 100s and now finishing in the top 50. Now we just need to keep the intensity up. It helps to have a coach who won't settle for complacency in the program.
  8. Recruiting isn't finished, coaching staffs aren't filled, spring practice has yet to take place. There is a long way to go before we take on UT. Strong will do one thing for them. He will make them a tougher team. You can't argue against that. They should be a much better prepared team when the game roles around next year. The reason UNT fans should be optimistic about this game is because the talent level is not a huge difference. UT has struggled to recognize and develop talent in recent years. That's why Mack is out. In fact if you talk to some people who are well in tune with their program they'd say the talent is worse now then when Mack took over. The difference is Mack had built the UT brand back up so it will be easier for the right coach to turn it around quicker. I think for UNT you hope that UT doesn't make the right hire for the offensive staff. Why? Well Strong is one of the bright defensive minds in college football he won't be involved in the offense he is going to let his staff do what they need to. If he does make a great hire for OC it's going to make it much tougher for UNT. I say wait till we see how things transpire during Spring Ball. That's going to tell us a little bit of where we stand going into next year. Perhaps it will paint a better picture on our chances against UT next year. Lots of questions to be answered in my mind.
  9. Haha the only people who had a list at the beginning of the season where the people who don't make the decisions. Not a pissing match just saying your source was wrong on Briles and Mora. That's all
  10. Ya I won't. I'll trust the people inside their ADs office and the people who were right during the whole Mack Brown thing and coach search.
  11. Briles and Mora were serious candidates. Shaw wasn't not sure on your sources but they are wrong. Briles didn't want to interview he wanted the offer straight up. Patterson was highly intrigued by Mora Jr. He did a lot of homework on him.
  12. I'd say Daryl Mason. Started the bowl game and was a starter when the season 1st started.
  13. UT loses 13 players from their two deep for next year. Possibly Ced Reed too. Don't think Diggs will go any where.
  14. Yet they end up with a herp a derp for a QB. They have some good athletes and average talent. Their roster is not loaded like you think. Yes they get the pick of the litter but they have had a lot of bad evaluations. That's why Mack is gone. They are avg on the OL, DL, WR, Secondary, QB, and LB. they have elite an elite RB.
  15. http://fansided.com/2014/01/05/indiana-wr-cody-latimer-declaring-2014-nfl-draft/
  16. Ashton is going to be a DB
  17. Awesome. I still got some eligibility left. Time to warm up my laser rocket arm.
  18. I agree Brock or Dajon would allow UNT to really open up the offense with more QB runs. Greer is a big armed QB who could stretch the field. To me it comes down to Greer and Dajon. Dajon brings more to the table and will win the job
  19. They have good athletes not elite. Their roster is not loaded like a Texas team should be. They have a lot of unproven players. QB is a position that is up in the air for them. Will they be favored by 2 tds? Yes. But the gap isn't as wide as someone of you think in terms if talent. Not hard to see that.
  20. Where do you figure about the QB exp? Ash might not even play.
  21. With other guys getting raises and what not I don't believe he is a top 5 paid coach. That just doesn't make sense.
  22. Its like a 8 person committee that has yet to meet to talk about coaches. Right now their AD is doing everything on his own. The finalist appear to be Strong and Franklin "A source close to the Texas coaching search says Louisville's Charlie Strong and Vanderbilt's James Franklin are among the finalists to replace Mack Brown at Texas."
  23. Getting the feel from my UT people that Charlie Strong may end up being the guy.
  24. Will be interesting to watch who comes out of spring as the QB. I think Coach C's offense will benefit with a more mobile QB. You can tell he really wants to use his QB as a running threat. I thought the reverses and the throw back pass were great scouting and coaching. If you watched UNLV vs San Diego St you would have seen why we ran those so much.
