  1. The accountability will ultimately fall upon Canales and he will be gone. Mac has let Chico craft an offense that fits McNulty's strengths as well as the strengths of the skill players. So if this up tempo offense falls flat will Coach Mac revert back to the 2.5 yards and a cloud of dust offense?

  3. Agree. We know Greer was good last year in practice, but it all changes when the lights come on and the heat is on. Plus I really question his fit in this offense. The new offense is built for guys like McNulty and Smith. Not a drop back pocket passer.
  4. You nailed it. Love the hips movement on that kid. He is a natural CB. Fundamentals are solid too. It's gonna be fun to watch him fill out his frame. I also like that he played the QB position in high school like McClain did. I think it helps young DBs understand what a QB is thinking or taught to read. I see him playing mainly on special teams this year and garbage time. I know the staff is also high on Andrew Jones too. Its good to see these young DBs stepping up.
  5. You look at the DL and what kind of different looks we can throw at teams and it gets you excited. We also may have found some guys to fill the void up the middle that has been a problem ever since Abbe graduated. One thing will be fun to watch is when we do go 3-4 and what kind of blitz schemes Cosh cooks up. I would keep an eye on Sed Ellis coming off the edge. It could still be a problem if we are going up tempo and dont get first downs. It doesnt matter how deep you are if your offense cant move the chains the defense will struggle eventually.
  6. Benford doesnt want to be here. He wants to bring in JUCO's and transfers in hopes of hitting it big one year and then he is gone to a different job. We as a fan base dont want him here either because he doesnt know how to run a program. Wish the bball program could be fixed.
  7. I can agree with that. Paul Myerber (USA Today) who visited UNT fall camp this year picked us 3rd in the West and had us ranked 89th nationally.
  8. SMU is ranked ahead us in some rankings purely on the fact that they hired and up and coming OC Chad Morris and thats the only reason. This team is not a bottom 10 team. The polls that have us ranked that low have not done their homework.
  9. I disagree. I think Marcus Smith adds too much value to any spread formation. He is a mismatch for most LBs and Safeties. Plus he adds value as a run blocker. If I'm an OC I want my best playmakers on the field and Marcus is one of those guys. The TE can still be split out like a WR in our spread formations.
  10. Greer is # 2 bc he knows the offense and is consistent in practice. However, when he gets in the games it all goes out the window. He also is limited in the new offense scheme. So Smith will be the #2 by the beginning of the season.
  11. Having Young and TJ playing good is big. We need size up the middle to help stop the run. I've been impressed with both those guys and their consistency.
  12. Yes absolutely and I have the feeling the that our President will push hard for this.
  13. Like Kevin Garnett said "Anything is possible"
  14. I wouldnt touch that kid with a 10ft pole. He just sounds like a locker room cancer and afraid of competition
  15. In shorts yes absolutely too fast and quick hands. Can't wait to see him in pads.
  16. Too bad we didnt get to see the reps of Combs vs Banogu like KP had said near the end of the video. That wouldve been a better judgement of how good he is.
  17. Why? I see them as being an average team. They lost their 2 top WR's who were pretty damn good. They lost depth on the DL Their LB's arent as good. They lost a 2nd team All CUSA LB Their secondary lost 125 career starts. I get that David Bailiff is a helluva coach, but he really down on talent this year.
  18. I mentioned this on our Mean Green Nation podcast, but I'm with Harry it is possible to be 4-1 or 5-0 going into a Nationally televised game against what may be a ranked team. A lot of things have to happen in my mind for this happen. OL has to be really good D. Smith has to beat out McNulty and be given the reigns to starting QB D. Smith has to be the player all of us hope he is The DL has to be able to stop the run Gray has to be better in coverage then L. Lee That second CB spot cant be a weak link B. Bean has to be really good J. Wilson has to be on a All Conf type of level Two more WR's have to emerge a long side Harris.
  19. If we can stop the run and keep teams in passing situations on 3rd down oh buddy will that be fun to watch. You have Combs, Polk, Johnson, Roberts all being able to get after the passer.
  20. 7 Players on Phil Steele CUSA list in 2013. I'm all for bringing in "your" type of guys and guys that will work hard and do everything right off the field. Its one of the reasons how Boise St built winners. but At the same time you have to eventually develop these guys in players who produce. This staff hasn't faired well in their development of players outside of OL and a few other areas. But for the most part they havent been able to turn the hard workers into All conference type of talent. Boise took a kid like RB Doug Martin who was a 2 star recruit and turned him into an NFL starter. Or 2 star DT Chase Baker and got him to the NFL. We need to start to see that happen here.
  21. I don't see it as getting worse. What if it gets to the point where they have to play Dillman at QB? He probably has the most potential at QB of all the players on the roster. So Dillman takes over as the 5th QB next year and never looks back. All of a sudden we become the next Boise St. I'm mean it could happen
  22. Said they didnt bring him in here just to sit and watch. Didnt bring him in just to compete. Brought him to go for the starting job. but again said they have 3 QBs who have been there all spring and summer and those guys have gotten better. Like @Harry said McNulty is firmly the number 1 at the start of camp.
  23. Basically how do they feel about him, will he get a chance to be the starter, if they had a chance to evaluate him.
  24. If you have the periscope app it is live
  25. Glad you asked the DaMarcus questioin
