Iowa St folks saying they haven't heard anything either.
-
I think we are all going to find out that he isnt a candidate. I think we all need to calm down till we hear it from a reliable source. Step away from the ledge.
-
He is not the #1 Target.
-
Does he excite the fanbase? No Will he put energy back into the program? No Will he be able to relate with the new age of recruits? No What you did at Kansas is all well and good. I agree he would be a better hire then Mac. However, I cant see how he is what our program needs. None of these kids now will remember what he did at Kansas nor will they care.
-
Umm your 1-6 and Id take Purdue & SMU over yall too
-
started at 12.5 and bet down to 9.5 I think NT covers this weekend.
-
-
That would probably be about what he'd make as an OC at a P5 program maybe more. So if he is fired and wants to be a HC I think he'd be willing to talk.
-
If WVU or Indiana fired Holgorson / Kevin Wilson would anyone be interested in them?
-
Wasn't his Dad an Aggie? Wasn't he some type of Aggie legacy? Our next HC could hire that Allen coach and convince him to transfer to NT. Just saying lol one can dream.

I'd like to see some play action max protect with 2 guys running routes down field. I know he made a lot of plays outside of the pocket at Butler CC, but I really like to see him try to work more from the pocket and scramble to extend plays. No more designed rollouts. Focus on fundamentals

Marshall was the best pass defense in CUSA. They've been allowing less than 50% completion percentage all year. It's pretty tough when your 1st 2 starts are against 2 of the best defenses we've faced all year. He is an above 50% passer it's just going to take a lil time to get rhythm and chemistry with the WRs. He has FBS level tools. I think they are asking too much of him. Lean more on Wilson and Ivery.

Yeah not really sure these guys know what the hell they are talking about, but I'll listen because they provide some good entertainment.

Yes Im aware of all that. Thanks. Yeah no way RV is as crappy as Patterson. RV has his many downfalls, but Patterson was a crappy guy trying to be a good businessmen.

GA Southern vs App State on ESPNU Tonight

http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/10274731/willie-fritz-named-coach-georgia-southern-eagles Fritz would bring an option attack to UNT most likely. However it wouldnt be like the Georgia Tech attack. He would spread the field. I do know he would throw the ball more then he has GSU. I think Fritz could mold an explosive offense with the pieces here. "We're more of a shotgun, pistol-type option team." "70% of what we do in the running game, all off the inside zone." "In over 22 years as a head coach, we've won over 91% of our games when we had one more yard rushing (than our opponent)," Fritz, 54, told USA TODAY Sports. "We set our offense up to be able to run the ball effectively, and our defense to stop people from running the ball." -

This banner worked Its good to see so many passionate people voicing their opinion. Its not good to see a fractured fan base. Could the money be used in a more productive way? Probably, but its America voice your opinion. You gotta do what you gotta do. Will this have a negative effect? Not sure how things could get much worse. It wont make us look any worse. It didnt make other schools look worse. Most people around the country wont care about a banner at North Texas. Recruits wont care, future coaches wont care, future AD's wont care. If anything it shows their is a passion to be better. Is it personal attack on RV? No lol jeez people come on. If he does his job well there is no banner end of story. Not sure how some people can defend the lies and bad hires, but you've got your opinion and Im okay with it. I keep coming back to unifying the fan base and it needs to happen, only there is no way NO WAY RV can do that himself. His only hope is that he hits a home run hire and that Coach unifies the fan base, because lets face the facts there are plenty of people who will not trust RV anymore regardless. His track record for hiring in the money sports though doesnt look to good.

I will say just be prepared to be underwhelmed by the hire when it does happen. I have a feeling that the guys most people want are not going to be the hire.

RV: Dodge was a good hire based on who we could hire
Mean_Green09 replied to BillySee58's topic in Mean Green Football
Maybe good people dont want to come here. Maybe its too hard to hire good coaches here. -
He failed at recruiting He never beat a team with a record over .500 on the road He led us to the worst defeat in FBS history His teams consistently looked unprepared for road games He had no clue what he was doing at the QB position. He rode with McNulty all the way to his firing. He held the team accountable, but not himself. He complained to the fans about it being hard. According to RV he had all the tools to be successfull, but why wasnt he? Why did a good hire get fired so quickly? Why did a good hire get treated with disrespect? What exactly is RV's definition of a good hire? Any hire not made by a committee?

I'll give yall an update on Norvell and possibly Traylor being candidates. I spoke to a Texas insider "Hard to say if either would leave. I think Norvell would be more likely to leave, because his long-term status as play caller is still very much in question. That being said, I’ve heard nothing that would indicate he’s not happy at Texas. He’d be a good candidate though ... very well respected by his players and other coaches I’ve talked to. Great guy overall." I do think Texas is going to hire a different OC so Norvell will be a name to follow and whether or not he wants to leave Texas. Would you rather be a position coach and work with a guy you respect or be a HC and get involved in a toxic situation?
-
Not sure you really know what your talking about. ADs don't keep recruiting classes together. Besides we don't really have a class together. It's like 4 guys. The best available coaches will come after RV is gone and a stable situation is in place. Why apply when an AD is possibly going to get the ax? Then you have a new boss who didn't hire you. The situation at UNT is toxic right now.

I've heard the President may not like him, but what do I know I'm just a STATS guy.
-
I'd say it's all speculation until the president comes out with an endorsement statement. The President might not like him, but might be forced to keep him.
