I was hoping he'd use what he learned under those head coaches here. Particularly Marquete. I thought he would build a line-up focused on combo guards who were gritty and tough. I thought we'd play tough D and grind out games using a motion offense. Instead he's tried to build a program off of transfers and quick fixes. There has been no continuity and the program has suffered. There is no reason you give this guy another year. There is no progress. I'd like for March to mean something around here again.

Yes and that was against one of the worst teams in the country. WKU has played well down the stretch. When they've lost it hasn't been by much. I'm expecting a double digit loss on the road. North Texas is probably one of the worst road teams in the country. Their defensive efficiency at home is pretty good, but on the road it would rank about 349 out of 351. Opponents are almost shooting 60% from inside the 3 pt line against UNT on the road. Tony Benford needs a miracle

Travis Ford at Oklahoma St if he gets fired.

I will get down voted for this, but I don't think he is a good post defender or good overall defender. I do think he is relentless on the boards and puts out great effort. I just wished he was coached up a little better on defense, because he should be a good defender. He should be 2nd Team all conference

We hung close, but Tech was missing one of their best players who is second on the team in scoring and 1st in Rebs. Well you can write a strongly worded letter to CUSA about how these atrocious refs are going to cost Benford his job.

Hey what they called on us where fouls. I didn't say Tech wasn't fouling too. Tech was way more aggressive in the 2nd half than UNT. The 1-3-1 zone really slowed down our ability to get into the lane. You can't expect to get those calls on the road anyways.

Naw our guys need to do a better job moving their feet and stop hacking down at the ball. Game blouses. Tech hit that first 3 and UNT can't recover. They just fell apart. Guys played good on the road, but it was still sloppy

It would be an easy argument to win. Utah St is a better job.

The argument for Benford has never really been about his ability to assemble talented players, at least not with me. I think the main argument against him has been his inability to mold the talent into a competitive and competent team. His in game decision making is questionable. If we have players who are putting in the effort on and off the court. And these players are talented then why are we not winning games? To me its a direct result of the strategies and way he teaches the game. There are some really great coaches out there who could take this team to the NCAA tourney and possibly win a game. We have a guy who cant steer the car, but can only put the fuel in.

I'll listen to people I respect. There are a few people on here who offer great insight into different sports and strategies. So yes some people on here do know more than others.

Poor non-conference. Lost 2 of the last 3. They are in some trouble right now and need to really play well down the stretch. KenPom has them winning 2 of the last 5 ( Florida & Mizzou). I think they need to win 4 and have a good showing against Kentucky on the road to have a shot.

Our offense this year has been improved, but our defense efficiency is way way worse. We should win on Saturday, but after that its hard to find a win on the schedule. Southern Miss maybe, but its a road game.

They were off the bubble and then got back on it in mid January. Now they are at the bottom of the bubble. Yea they beat the Aggies, but then lose to Bama.

Not that I dont wish him success, but lets say LSU fails to make the tourney and fires Jones. Then we fire Benford this offseason. How fast does the call go out to Jones if you were the AD? Or do we look some where else?

I wouldnt call him a beat writer. Blogger is a better word.

Especially the QB position. They are going to go hard after every talented QB in the region. I think they know that a HS QB is probably going to be the starter for the 2017 season.

I don't really care how much of a recruiter the next guy is. I want some who can coach. I want a guy who has a clear system or who came from a program that has a clear system that they run. I want a X's & O's guy. Part of well the big problem with Benford is he has no system. It's just a collection of guys playing ball. Is it Buzz Williams Marquete system? No. Is it the motion offense he claimed to run? No. Coaches who have a clear system and can teach it can win almost anywhere. Even with below average talent. We need a guy who can get some execution on the floor from our players. We need a guy who isn't consistently getting out coached. With the players we have and where Benford came from I was hoping for a team that was focused on pressure man-man D. Force TOs and get out and run. Yet we can't or haven't played D since Benford's arrival. I don't care if we get a tactician who runs sets. I don't care if we get a dribble drive motion guy or a guy who presses and runs. I just want a guy who can teach the game.

Fran & Cross aren't coming. They both know about the leadership issue. Especially Fran.
