  1. UTSA's only game left where they might be favored to win - Tulane?
  2. Club seats are $75.
  3. Looking at the other C-USA teams in this prediction: C-USA 1 - Eastern Carolina C-USA 2 - North Texas C-USA 3 - replaced - this must assume MUTS is not eligible C-USA 4 - Rice C-USA 5 - Marshall C-USA 6 - Tulane
  4. THR33 IN A ROW! Rice is now a bigger game than many imagined when the season started.
  5. Noticed this morning that area class 5 regional football playoffs will be at AT&T Stadium the weekend of November 23, but that site is not available for bi-district games the weekend of November 16. Is the UNT actively pursuing hosting bi-district games that weekend or quarter finals the weekend of November 30? This is a great opportunity to show off Apogee to high school players and fans.
  6. Not concerned with bowl yet, except to keep possible dates open on calendar. Loss to Tulane hurt. Our goal needs to be beating USM and Rice, and arriving in Tulsa with an 8-3 record. Then the goal becomes beating Tulsa and moving on to the C-USA championship.
  7. I expected 2-2 on non-conference, and we know now that could have been 3-1. UNT is still only loss for MAC-leader Ball State. I figured Tulsa as the toughest challenge on the conference schedule, and thought we could do 6-2 in conference. I expected La Tech to be a tougher game, but didn't expect loss at Tulane. So my 8-4 hope still looks reasonable. UNT can beat Tulsa. That said, USM is most important game right now.
  8. I think I bought the first one Joe had for sale. It flies at my house on game day.
  9. Two most challenging games left in the regular season may be Rice and Tulsa. We need a huge turnout on Halloween to help win against Rice. After hosting SA and EP, that leaves Tulsa on the road to close out the regular season. UNT is capable of winning all remaining games. Right now, the most important game remaining on the schedule is in Hattiesburg next weekend.
  10. I do like the promo for kids on Oct 31 - bounce house and games, and free admission in the wing zone if in costume.
  11. National TV exposure is NOT a good time to cover UNT coeds with masks!
  12. Anybody notice that MBB/WBB double headers will be almost non-existent this season. There will be none in the CUSA schedule with the teams not even playing in the same location on any game day. The only 5:00 / 7:00 DH is November 26, and there are are two other OOC days with start times three hours apart.
  13. And we should win all three of those road games.
  14. Before anybody else reacts to this, please read Vito's post and not UNT90's frustrated view. President Rawlins said he wants the athletic budget to rank in the top half of C-USA. Other goals Football - finish in top half at least half the time Basketball - finish in top half of conference over a three-year span, and be in postseason at least once every six years (have to assume after conference tournament) All other sports - at least two teams in postseason every year
  15. When checking C-USA scores on Fox Sports, UNT has sometimes been missing, only to be listed under SB conference.
  16. The 1967 yearbook "Yucca" in describing the 1966 season makes no mention of Mean Green. The 1968 yearbook "Yucca" in describing the 1967 season has a paragraph on page 288 describing the accomplishments of the season, finishes with these three sentences: They produced all this, and they produced a name. the "Mean Green." Whether it was just a name or perhaps a following, it was one by which they were known and respected. The North Texas Green of 1967 was indeed Mean. The next page, a story of Coach Rod Rust, starts with the following: A headline said somewhere recently....Mean Green, it's a happening. That sentence was probably the understatement of the year, for nowhere in the state of Texas was there a bigger happening than at North Texas. That happening, sometimes referred to as the Eagle football team, was one of, if not the best football teams in the state. Joe Greene, while a key part of the defense in those years, was not mentioned on either page.
  17. We usually have to wade through a large crowd at the bar just to go inside. The couple of times I went in yesterday it was not crowded inside at all, as most people were either outside in their seats or near a TV screen watching some game down in the central part of the state.
  18. When the heat is a factor as it was yesterday, I would rather see students seek the shade than leave early or not even show up.
  19. With all the excitement about the comeback win, I have not seen any comments about what I thought was a great halftime performance by the Green Brigade. They were awesome!
  20. The second half play by UNT was great, but momentum actually shifted at least a bit during the second quarter. After trailing 20-3 after the first quarter, UNT out-scored BS 13-7 in the second quarter by scoring three times. Also, BS had over 300 yards of offense in the first quarter, but didn't get 300 more the rest of the game.
  21. I am hoarse from yelling (from club level, no less), but it feels great!
  22. Post-game radio announcer noted this was third straight home game for defense to hold opponent scoreless in second half.
  23. Last southbound train leaves at 11:15 per the article at the top of this post.
  24. Watched starting late in first half. TCU was never in the contest.
  25. "Forever in the right" is how I learned it. I will go back to singing it that way also. Good traditions should not change. I do like the idea of adding the a cappella repeat.
