  1. As of today, no assistants on staff roster. http://www.meangreensports.com/staffdir/coaches-directory.html
  2. UNT has always been great. T-shirt has wrong message.
  3. I like them both, and will not vote one over the other. So refreshing to see so many positive posts about UNT athletics. Let's build on that.
  4. Play-in games not shown on NCAA bracket as "First Four."
  5. His current term just started and runs through end of 2018. By then he will be 68 and perhaps ready to stop making those trips to D.C. Can we wait until then to replace Lee Jackson? A bit of coincidence: Lee Jackson was my state rep through mid 80's and Burgess is (like a lot of us) my current Congressman. (If you saw him that Saturday night, we were at same event.)
  6. Ryan Woolridge may have been close to making that all-frosh list also. I hope our new coach has both of those guys next year.
  7. I would be surprised if Wren Baker and Jared Mosley do not already have some candidates on a short list. They are doing the right thing staying quiet until the season is over.
  8. It was November 9 (earliest) to November 16 (latest) last fall.
  9. Basketball signing day is April 12.
  10. Frankly, I am very happy to have Ryan Woolridge playing at guard for UNT - eight steals against UTSA.
  11. Agree on Joe Hamilton from the last half of the 1960's in the original snake pit.
  12. While our 3-point game is woefully short at both ends, we cannot overlook our poor free throw shooting. Opponents can defend more aggressively when they know we will not hit free throws.
  13. No
  14. Will be there, at least as a spectator and donor.
  15. Well, my 5-13 conference prediction assumed game at USM would be only road win. Now I doubt they hit 4-14. Hope we don't some promising young players through frustration.
  16. Joe Greene lives in Flower Mound and attends UNT football games. I saw him at a UNT basketball game once last season.
  17. Agree with Sagarin, and used it to predict 5-13 conference record. That 3-point home court (statistical average) advantage probably includes a better turnout than we have seen in the Pit the last few years.
  18. I still expect 5-13 conference record, but that includes a win at USM this week.
  19. With double headers, it was easier, except for hitting earlier traffic before 5:00 games. Going to men's games and women's games means driving up for a game almost every Thursday and Saturday poses too many conflicts for me.
  20. Jessica played volleyball, married Gill, and moved to Austin for his UT gig.
  21. As my GMG handle implies, I graduated in 1969. I saw all home games plus three road games for Joe Greene. Only five losses (3 to Memphis, one to Arkansas by 2 points, and one to Tulsa) over three seasons (66-67-68) were recorded by NT. For the teams I watched, including last ten years as a season ticket holder, Joe Greene is tops in my book. Must also mention Hardman, Ramsey, Shanklin, Love, Orr, Chancellor, and Dunbar.
  22. Or Kenny Lyons....
  23. We are seeing a consistent pattern of slow starts and severe inability to close out games. TB burned a time out early in the game when we were 19 seconds and game stoppage away from getting a media time out. That did help turn the game around, but then we were out of time outs for that last UAB free throw and the players showing confusion on how to run last play. That inability to close out games has us wondering "how will we lose this one?" That is on the coaching, and needs to change. I was hoping my prediction of an 0-5 conference start would be wrong, but unfortunately that is where we are headed.
  24. Lee Jackson did prefer Mean Green over Eagles.
  25. Sagarin ratings: UAB 72.52, UNT 64.09 So 8.5 point difference. Normal add for home team is currently 3.2, but I don't see 3.2 with our attendance.
