  1. You may notice one from the top from this thread. There's also this: I almost want to try and get permission to use the brand for something just to experience for myself how difficult it is. EVERYONE you ask about having UNT stuff says it's too difficult or expensive.
  2. URCM. I sound like a broken record complaining about them, but I've been annoyed and frustrated by their warped priorities since I was a student worker.
  3. From my understanding, the problem is multi-faceted (naturally). URCM (University Relations, Communications, and Marketing) has, and has pretty much always, kept a strangle-hold on branding in order to keep more of the profits. That was especially true while we had the bookstore. I had hoped that with the introduction of Barnes & Noble, that'd loosen up, but it would seem it hasn't yet. There is also a team that is supposedly dedicated to promoting licensing, but they are so restricted (as well as not innovative) by university policies that no one wants to work with them. Of course, this could all be changed if someone (like the president, as suggested) made it a priority to promote branding outside of the university. But URCM, in their infinite wisdom won't have it.
  4. This schedule is beautiful to me. I hope we kill UTSA on their home turf and come home for that conference championship.
  5. somebody told me they saw the camera crews filming again. is this show going another season?
  6. So a brand new one is $350? Are they selling worn ones for less? I want one...but I also don't want to pay twice my car payment for one. Does that make me cheap?
  7. Thank you Chris! Yes, if you join the team and just keep attending basketball games, you can still be helping our team even without being there on 3/22!
  8. Not set in stone yet, but it is quite likely!
  9. Howdy all! Sorry for posting on two different forums, but football gets about 10M more views than any other and I think people in this forum are usally pretty gung-ho. This year, UNT will be holding the first annual Field Day on March 22. Although this is the first event of its kind at UNT and is thus limited in scope, there will still be typical field day event like egg tosses, three-legged races, etc. I have been asked to captain the alumni team and we will be competing against the Class of 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, graduate students and transfer students. For $10, you join the team, get a t-shirt, and access to all the day-of events and any related food, prizes, etc. You can register for the event at http://studentaffairs.unt.edu/field-day. If you do join the alumni team, please email me at tyler.maryak@unt.edu. - ALSO - If you cannot attend the day-of event, I still encourage you to join the team. Attending UNT events (such as basketball games) can earn points for our team, and funds will be donated to a UNT related charity. For our team, I intend to have our funds given to either the General Scholarship fund or the Student Emergency Fund, which is created to help students with exceptional need or are in dire straights financially. Please feel free to email me with any questions you may have and I will respond as quickly as possible. Since most of us have full-time jobs and/or families, it is challenging to assemble a team, so any help from anyone who can join the team and/or participate on March 22 would be very appreciated. Cheers! -Tyler
  10. Anyone know a cheerleader or someone who may be able to coordinate it from the ground level?
  11. The young guy who runs the @FillApogee twitter handle has been blowing people up on twitter. Everyone from Dunbar to Stone Cold Steve Austin. The effort is definitely being made. Little word on the impact.
  12. Yeah, but logic will never prevail with people who think they've won because they've yelled the loudest. I finally got past it and left it behind. It's not easy for me to stand idly by and let stupid take the day, though.
  13. I cannot, at this time, imagine what the complaints will be. However, after having it out over here (http://www.occupy.com/article/exposed-university-president-lied-students-about-fracking-school-property) for a little while, I am sure that there will be students belly-aching about how this is a bad thing. They'll say, "Why are we spending money on this instead of the world's biggest and best music building ever?" And someone will point out that UNT isn't paying for this project, the university is just on the lease. Then, because they can't be wrong, they'll try to argue that UNT should force the city to give us the money for this project to use for a new art building. Sorry, I just realized that this is actually a ramble and not a contribution to the thread. I guess I'm a little jaded and saddened when I witness how illogical and needlessly pissy some of the people I went/go to school with can be. Maybe they can do something with the convention center to appease the hippies!
  14. TS;DR. (Too Sad; Didn't Read)
  15. I got so excited!!! Still cool history, though!
  16. FROM THE TWITTER-SPHERE: UNT Equipment ‏@UNT_Equipment First bowl practice in 8 years. #Hit9 #BowlBound #tbt
  17. That's cool to know. I don't know if I could handle being in his shoes.
  18. I think it'll certainly help. His stats do seem pretty impressive. But what we need is a BoR that is on board. We need an admin that is willing to make changes and take risks to improve. Think we have that?
  19. You smoke shrooms?
  20. Awesome. And I love that I saw this here long before an administrative announcement was sent out. Harry, you are Johnny Onit.
