The crowd started out fairly decent. I'm not good estimating the numbers for crowd size, but folks were right when they said HC would draw a good crowd. Greek Life never made it in though...so odd...anyway. It took until almost halftime for the stadium to empty by about half. By the 4th quarter, it was me and about a dozen guys on the 50 of the student side and maybe 5 pockets of 10 or less around the stadium. I think the group I was with (and the band) was all that was left in the stands as the school song played after the game.

When people were making this claim after going 0-3, I figured people were being overdramatic considering where UNT has been in the past. After last night...it's hard to imagine how it this could NOT be true.

I want 2-10 beating UTSA and Portland State. I think that's less likely than going 0-12. Most likely, we'll beat Portland State and UTEP (seems to be a relative consensus).

Oh God, I wouldn't be able to handle that embarrassment again...

Man, if Wickstrom can do that in Monroe, Louisiana (30 minutes from my home town, so...I know) just imagine what he could do here.

Mean Green - 34 Portland Pretty Greats - 28 I'll be the first time we get more than three TDs, two of which will be provided by Mr. Wilson. We'll get two field goals and probably miss two as well. We get ahead early but fall apart in the second half and they give us a big scare. More importantly, winning at least one game allows RV and Mac to keep their jobs.

I wasn't 100% sure until I realized that Al Golden has had mostly winning seasons but people still want him gone because they demand more. So should we.

Right?? I mean, I won't beat my chest and say I know any high ups (I doubt they'd have the gall to say that), but if anyone in the department feels comfortable saying that as they walk the hallways, I think it's safe to say that it's part of the culture.

I really love the idea. The big problem is that no one in a prominent position has any incentive to welcome something like this, especially inviting average joes. How many of you are aware that a significant number of people in the Athletic Department call GoMeanGreen.com "the Idiot Board"? The people I've spoken to aren't shy about it either. In the rare occasions they come to this forum, it is to seek out the most overly-dramatic comments to A) mock and B) use as evidence/reassurance that they're the smartest people in the world. Sometimes, when someone says something particularly outlandish I want to quote it saying "we don't all feel this way" just so they can't be douchebags and say, "look what all these morons think..."

I think this will be one of our random weeks where we play unusually well and they play unusually poor for an unexpected but barely attained win.
