  1. From what I remember, there were a lot of people interested in seeing that happen, but it didn't get the support it needed to make it into the final version of the plan.
  2. The Gateway precinct is further developed in this master plan update. By recommending elements to support the anticipated high volume of pedestrians in this location and minimize conflicts with vehicular access to the Murchison Performing Arts Center, future Visitor Information-Welcome Center and Fouts Field Parking Structure and Transit Center. Uses and improvements planned for this precinct include the following: 1. Bridge over North Texas Boulevard from the Gateway Circle Plaza to parking and proposed Visitor Information-Welcome Center 2. Fouts Field Garage for 1,600 cars; a mixed-use facility with a Transit Center on Highland and office space for public outreach uses (Career Center, Visitors Center, etc.) and support functions (transportation, police, facilities) 3. New Visitor Information-Welcome Center could accommodate outreach activities, such as campus tours and the Career Center 4. Multi-purpose, paved and landscaped forecourt is designed to facilitate drop-off and pick-up for the Murchison Performing Arts Center and function as a pedestrian plaza and event space for game-day celebrations or UNT fund-raisers 5. Existing driveway entry from the frontage road is moved to the north, eliminating a conflict with pedestrians using the bridge while maintaining direct access to parking and Center drop-off. 6. Design incorporates reccomendations [typos in our Master Plan make me sad] from the pedestrian bridge workshops for plazas and walkway enhancements 7. Reconstruction of the Gateway Center entry steps (damaged by drainage issues) and parking lot to improve pedestrian and vehicular traffic flow as well as ADA accessibility. https://osmp.unt.edu/sites/default/files/UNT Denton Master Plan 2013.pdf
  3. I imagine that is the response I will get tonight when I ask my wife about it. If you figure out the right answer, please DM me...
  4. commenting to bump this up because i plan on buying my tickets this afternoon. #payday
  5. Hahahaha!!! Shameless self-promotion before the new chief arrives. But also kind of a bad idea for cynics like me. Kinda says, "man, these numbers used to be garbage whike that moron ME was in charge of social media..."
  6. Keep saying it again and again. That strategy seems to be working.
  7. Littrell backs him up by addressing the offenders in front of the entire room, which is filled with only football personnel by now. “You are selfish,” he says to one. “You want to be a leader, you’re not even a good teammate. You think other guys didn’t want to leave and drink beer? No, but they were here that morning. Maybe they’ll build trust up with you, but you’ll damn sure have to with me. That’s 1-11 crap. I’m not going 1-11.”
  8. You didn't go with Sugar Ray, so props to you.
  9. I believe NTAlum09 would like Mr. Morris to "light up" opposing defenses. I, for one, would really like to attend that bonfire.
  10. All the way out in Aubrey.
  11. Gah dang, that was a smart move. Kudos to whoever thought that up.
  12. Love it. I'll take every local recruit we can get. All it takes is them convincing one or two of their highly regarded friends into coming here for us to take off.
  13. frfr. I'm 3:30 in and I feel like I've heard basically "What were y'all doin' here!?!" an average of once a minute. I really like that he said the game against SMU is personal now. Man, Zach is so smart. Hate to use cliches, but that dude has strong emotional intelligence.
  14. So glad @Brett Vito asked about "other programs" at North Texas.
  15. "And yes, by golly, we will win."
  16. That's kind of my point, though... Wren Baker at OK ST: ~4 years at Rogers State: ~ 2 years at Northwest Missouri St: ~1.5 years at Memphis: ~2 years at Missouri: ~12 months He's done incredible things at these institutions in the time he is with them and everything I've read suggest that he's a great get. But we talk about planning for if Littrell is picked up quickly. What if this guy decides to split in 18 months? Just a question of curiosity. I'm not sitting under my desk clawing at my skin or anything.
  17. So we talk a bit about what the plan will be if Coach Litty is successful quickly and moves on fast, but this guy has been making moves too. Is anyone worried (or at least wondering) what'll happen if he'said half way through the process of righting this ship and he gets picked up by someone who can pay more?
  18. We'd probably need to have a non-UNT person do it, since everyone on this board will die of heart attack when that day comes.
  19. Of course, if UNT does ever realize it's potential and RISES out of obscurity, you might have to change your name...
  20. A product of meangreensports.com and I only counted 3 typos! For real, though, this is awesome. Hopefully it's not forgotten and abandoned. I doubt the new guy will allow that to happen.
  21. "Fantastic...strongest we've ever had...unbelievable connections..." I hope the BoR delivers! Otherwise, I'll be saying:
  22. There were enough families there to justify advertising athletics (in my mind). But it seemed like it wasn't fully planned out. They ran out of water almost immediately and had to go get more, I'm assuming from concession stands. All the ice in the tubs that the water was going into had melted by 7. And this game has been plagued by server issues, but it seemed like they never thought about what they would do if the servers went down during the event. I'm not sure if they know enough about it to have known about the severity of the server issues. With that being said, I love how quick they were to jump on this and play into what is trendy right now. It just really needed to be fleshed out more.
