Holy crap, is my only logical response to that. -
2014 HS - Kingsley Okoroh - 7'1 C

Then that is absolutely wonderful. Since he is 2014 it's a long way off, but it would be fantastic if Benford could snag this kid. Even if he is below average in his development (which since he plays at Findlay Prep, I don't think he can be too below average), you can't teach size, so he'd be a good get. -
Don't regret, I'm not about to flame you haha. I did reference hell, and I am an atheist. I'm just not as stuck up as most atheists that put themselves in the public eye, and most are actually like me. I'm tolerant and open-minded. It is my personal belief that there is no God, and I don't completely understand how more people don't come to that logical conclusion. But, I also know that there is no way to definitively prove one way or another whether or not a God exists, so I'm not going to call someone an idiot for believing. My point in referencing hell was to demonstrate my absolute disgust with megachurches and the people who follow them. Nothing is any sicker than claiming the Christian title (or any religious title) in order to make a profit off of emotionally weak people. That Jaguar and private jet could feed a lot of people in this country and around the world... While I may disagree with your selective use of science, I can't deny how logical and correct you are when it comes to Christianity. It's great to come across someone who actually uses the religion in a 100% positive way. Kudos to you, TFLF. If more Christians were like you, the world would be a lot nicer of a place.

so he is legit 7'1"? or is he 6'10" like it says in the basketballelite evaluation? I'd like to get another big man regardless, but 7'1" would be amazing -
Take offense if you want, I never implied that most coaches don't try to take care of their players. But there are plenty of coaches who don't. Even here in Rhode Island where no one gives a damn about high school football, let alone anything lower, coaches go way too far. My mother didn't let me play football in my town before high school because the coaches that ran the local team were a bunch of psychos that ran kids at 7 years old into the ground, until they were all puking their guts up. The reason I brought up the 85 degrees was to show that it's a lot worse here in TX, and people need to pay more attention. Besides, you Texans seem to think that 40 degrees is brutal...I'll walk around in shorts when it's 15 Anyways, kids are dying over this. That's the reason people make it an issue. Practice at 5 AM in August. The players won't like it, but like with everything else in football, oh well toughen up. Hold 2-a-days early, like one practice from 5-7:30, and then one from 9:30-12. It'll be pretty hot by the end of the second practice, but it will be a lot better than starting practice at noon and going until the afternoon. Or better yet, just hold one long practice from 5-10 or something. There are ways around it. Once school starts, hold a short practice before school at ends 30 minutes before school starts. There are plenty of ways to beat the heat. Even if it is still 90+ degrees during the practice, if the Sun is down that makes a huuuuuge difference. The Sun only makes matters worse, even if the temperature difference isn't much.

La Tech Mascot missing then discovered dead
UNTstormchaser replied to MeanGreenSig's topic in Mean Green Football
Same here, I'm sorry for your loss. It's so rough losing a dog. My dog passed in April while I was at UNT, and since my family lives in RI the last time I got to see her was in January, so it sucked not being able to say goodbye. I'm with you, let's hope there's no foul play involved. -
Bringing back a live mascot to the University

Hahaha that would be awesome. As for the eagle, I'd love to see it. I think that would be a really cool thing to do if the logistics of the whole thing weren't too bad. -
UNT vs. Western Kentucky Game Picked up by TV
UNTstormchaser replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
It says that on the website, but it took me forever to get it configured last year. I think the system finally realized that I was in a dorm, but the website was being a stupid poop (I'm trying to cut down on the profanity and that's the best thing I could come up with haha) for about 45 minutes before it finally worked.- 16 replies

That's all I want too! The world would be so wonderful if that was the case. Glad to come across someone who feels the same way about megachurches that I do. They're sick, and if by chance I am 100% wrong in my beliefs and Christianity is the correct religion, then I look forward to them burning in hell for profiting off of something that is supposed to be about peace and love, not greed and bigotry.

Thanks for the advice and such. I agree that misunderstanding definitely comes from a lack of context. Unfortunately for all sides on the debate of religion, people who deem themselves worthy of trying to make themselves the face of what they stand for (on a small scale, someone posting a video on youtube/on a large scale, someone like the Westboro Baptist Curch, or the group American Atheists, who suck), are typically the ones who really don't have any clue about what they're standing against, and are completely unqualified for such a position, and in turn just hurt their cause. This girl making a video with a lack of understanding of the bible is in no position to actually make a video such as this one, and it isn't going to help anything. The WBC gives a terrible name to Christianity with their extremist ideas and immoral practices. American Atheists are a bunch of idiots who think that an angry billboard campaign directed towards Christians who question their faith is going to actually make them look any better than what they paint their opposition as. Oh well, people lack brains. I've come to accept that fact.

Well, there's a difference between literally meaning discussion and using the word to mean fight. When one says discuss in a peaceful conversation or disagreement, there's no worries. But, let me quote what you said to me, unprovoked (as in I did not message you), in a message entitled FU. And I quote, word for word: "We can discuss you calling me a douchebag at a tailgate if you would like you fat mother fucker." That doesn't sound like an invitation to a discussion. That sounds like an invitation to throw down at a tailgate after you've had a few beers. As for the name calling, you don't know me personally. You have no idea whether or not I'm fat, or thin. A pussy, or a tough ass thug. You have no clue whether I grew up on the streets and fended for myself, or if I grew up as Bill Gates' nephew with a hot maid wiping my ass for me. You have absolutely no idea who I am, so how can you legitimately think you can offend me by calling me names? You're 43 years old, it's time to stop trying to prove yourself to everyone and it's time to grow up. The pissing contest ended 20 years ago.

Oh I know, I was there last year for the Houston game. It's brutal. But they always can find a way to make it easier on the athletes in those situations, like starting the game later, having huge fans blowing tons of cool mist on the sidelines, etc. If they can mimic those conditions in practice that's fine, but I don't think there's anyway to make a 2 PM August practice in a place like Denton safe without going to ridiculous lengths to make it so. At that point, have 5 AM practices, or 11 PM practices, or something.

If you'd like, I'll copy and paste the messages in a brand new forum dedicated to that for all to see, and we can all debate on whether or not you actually meant "discuss", or if you meant fight. I think given the contextual clues of frequent profanity, and calling me a pussy after I told you I wouldn't fight you, that most would see things through my eyes. Like I told you, grow up.

Is It Just Me?
UNTstormchaser replied to KRAM1's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
To make an on topic point, yes the uniforms suck. I agree with Quoner that the NBA has turned into something crappy, but I wouldn't blame the olympics for that. These guys are all about the money and fame these days, and that's what happened in Miami. OKC is different since they built through the draft. The Celtics built through trades. The Nets built through draft and trades. Any team other than the Heat that has built a Big 3 type core hasn't just been the lucky recipient of having a good location, no core, and tons of cap space, like Miami was. That's why bandwagon Heat fans crack me up. I don't even think of it as a real team. It's a collection of superstars that would have accumulated anywhere if the cap space was there to do it. Miami just got lucky. -
Cool cool, hopefully you're right and that is the case.

TJ Taylor IS COMING to North Texas..It's Official
UNTstormchaser replied to All About UNT's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Yeah haha, I was obviously being sarcastic. It's about a 33 hour drive, and I hopefully will never have to make that drive. A few hours on a plane sounds much better to me. -
Are they allowed to practice normally before then though? Or is it similar to where TM couldn't practice with the basketball team until he was eligible?

Gotcha.

Is the Sun Belt Network put on a cable channel in the Denton area? If not, is it streamed online? I'd love to be able to watch this from my dorm.- 16 replies

I might have to drive from RI to Denton when I'm home for Christmas break.
