  1. Thank you! That was bugging me big time.
  2. As far as I'm concerned, our official nickname is the Mean Green, and we have the mascot of an eagle. Kind of how Alabama is the Crimson Tide, but their mascot is an elephant. The backstory on that is actually the opposite of ours...they were the Crimson Tide and someone called their defense elephants haha. But, Tulane Green Wave is another example, their mascot escapes me though.
  3. I emailed RV about 2 months ago with that question, and he said sometime in August or early September at the latest, and that it would be exciting (probably referring to the preseason NIT).
  4. I'm an atheist liberal from the northeast. Of course I know the reference (;
  5. That's a very valid point, as long as he doesn't retire. He's a non-contract-issue no-show at camp right now, because he's mulling retirement. He was still a monster last year though, so I am really hoping he returns, both for my Patriots and to keep the Mean Green tradition strong.
  6. I am withholding purchase until I am sure he is on the team, but Lance Dunbar is the only reason I will ever be seen sporting a Cowboys jersey. Alma mater support goes before NFL fandom support though, so if he makes it I will be buying a Dunbar jersey. Maybe I can wear a Patriots hat with it to offset it haha.
  7. Wait wait wait wait wait. This kid is 6'5", and his max vertical reach is 140.5"???? Holy F'ing crap. A guy 6'5" being able to get 20.5" inches above the rim is one of the most insane things I have ever heard. Give him 2 scholarships per year if that's what it takes.
  8. I've heard they could be considered as high as top 40 in the nation. Definitely a potential at large tournament team this year, depending on how well they do in A10 play. This is a statement game for us, and a feasible one. It isn't like we're facing Kentucky, but this is a team enough people (especially the east coast biased sports media) know about and respect. A win on the road here is absolutely not a guarantee, but it is absolutely within reach. This could be the oft eluded signature win that is needed to give a small conference team some cred.
  9. If I can do any, Houston is the most likely. I'll try my damn hardest to be there.
  10. I return to the area on August 21, but won't be of any use until August 26/27. After that, I can spread the word like a fiend, put posters up on doors in Mozart, whatever you think a random student can do. I'll donate the very small amount I can afford. I'm all in, just give me exact direction and I will be a loyal minion.
  11. He literally said that he wasn't pointing the finger at you. Relax man.
  12. Maybe someday, but not yet haha. When the wins come, we'll have the place loud enough to force false starts anyways.
  13. The dorms don't reopen until August 25, but last year every room was given a schedule.
  14. We're throwing out ideas and such because you still haven't told us a single thing about what anyone can do. How can we do anything towards your plan if you don't tell us what the F it is? I'm not trying to sound like a douche. I'm 100% behind you with this idea. But you haven't given us a shred of knowledge on what we can do, how we can do it, who we should talk to, etc.
  15. The craziest students are better off where they are...right behind the opposing team's bench. I tormented WKU last year. It was amazing. Getting a 325 pound DT to stare you down mid game means you're getting in their heads. Unfortunately, we lost anyways.
  16. They gave money to organizations whose primary purpose is to promote and legislate the ideology from the bible, including the Family Research Council among others. Some of the organizations they have donated to have been on the record as saying things like: "we need to pray away the gay", "homosexuality should be illegal", "gays should be extradited", etc. etc. etc. So no, they didn't give to Westboro. But they gave millions of dollars to organizations that are fighting the same fight as Westboro when it comes to gays. They're just doing it a lot less obnoxiously and idiotically. As someone already said, they were to an extent. It was no secret. But this was picked up by the mainstream media, and let the full population know about it. I wasn't surprised, nor were some other people. But the public at large are an ignorant herd of sheeple who don't know anything that the media doesn't explicitly tell them. That goes for both sides.
  17. Man this argument has gotten even more ridiculous and funny than when I was writing short stories for this thread. Keep it up fellas, good entertainment.
  18. Too true about the UNT student comment. Can we make fun of TCU too though? The lockers look like a designer high class toilet.
  19. Yes you do. We're also the vast minority in this country, so just from a pure statistical standpoint, if you were to pick one random person that is helping in a disaster, he'd likely be Christian, or at least some form of common Western religious. Put that in with the fact that the mainstream media is about ratings and pandering to the majority in their audience (hence increasing ratings), they're going to put on a good Christian story over an atheist one. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that all atheists are good or useful. There are plenty of atheists who are such narcissistic elitists that they don't even accept other less intense atheists as valuable people. And some others are so wrapped up in ridiculous philosophy that they can't even wipe their ass correctly. But it's the same thing with any other group of people. Some atheists are wonderful people. Others are normal, average people. Others suck. Most fall in between. Just like Christians. Some are wonderful people who live the life of Jesus and are constantly helping others. Others are normal people who are good by nature, but don't necessarily live their religion to the fullest (the vast majority fit into this category, as I think you'll agree). And, others are either completely insane maniacs (like the WBC), or are babbling idiots who quote the bible when they haven't read anything other than what they read online as an argument for or against what they want to believe in. Just like people of any race. Some white people are amazing, some are terrible. My point is that you shouldn't be judging a group of people that you don't understand because you have never been one or met enough of them to form a legitimate opinion. I've been Christian, I grew up Christian, have lived with Christians, and are friends with Christians. I understand that the religion they claim has little to do with how they act a lot of the time, and I don't judge people for being Christian as a result. I judge them based on how they treat me and others. Same with atheists. I may gravitate towards someone who is an atheist since we share similar views, but I don't place the person on a pedestal before I actually get to know them. If they're an ass to me, then I could give a damn what they are or believe in. Blanket statements are the downfall of society...they lead to ridiculous stereotypes that are hardly ever true. One love people.
  20. link won't work for me, but what is that in, the long jump?
  21. URI basketball is an absolute joke. It's the only major university in the whole state and no one gives a damn. Obviously that changes when they put a winning product on the floor, but that hasn't happened in quite some time. I don't know anything about Dayton, but I know URI does have a great basketball facility that they built within the last 10 years. And their new head coach is really, really good. But, we should have absolutely no problem beating them out with our visit and our team's talent. My heart goes out to this kid if he has to suffer through a URI football game though. I'd rather go watch Brown University football. As for Dayton, their basketball team is good, but I know nothing at all about them other than that.
  22. Practice facility AND a jumbotron? Oh my sweet Jesus yes!
