  1. No problems. I was pretty sure I had bought up all of his jerseys.
  2. What's the name on the back of the 90 Jersey?
  3. Have to go with hometown boy Fulp from China Spring. If he can live up to Chapman and Boutwell standards, which I know he can, he will be a long time starter. He is mean and nasty. I am curious if they will leave him at OLB or put his hand on the ground. He is a terrific pass rusher.
  4. I know exactly what your saying. I was at A&M during the early 80's. A&M built a brand new weight room specifically to be bigger than Nebraska's. Our ssst. strength coach was the Romanian Olympic Weight lifting coach who had just defected. The only Olympic movement that we did was the Clean. Olympic lifts are very technical. If you have the man power to properly train the technique and then monitor each lifter during training then use it. if you have 25 or 30 players in a workout group and one coach then you are working against the numbers. S&C coaches worst night mare is a player being injured while training, specially using weights. As I mentioned before, you can attain the same results by using other less technical movements that do not require one on one monitoring in order to prevent injuries. Understand that DT 90 is a disciple of Frank Wentrich and I am very sure Frank is well versed in Epley's theories
  5. Yes on bench and squat. Sorry, I had this discussion with DT 90 about Olympic movements and philosophies he works with.
  6. And Olympic lifts should not be utilized in training for football. Too much time to train /supervise the proper technique (where the most training injuries occur) and the ability to accomplish the same position specific results using less complicated/dangerous moves. From my professional contact.
  7. Tall guys with long wingspans, AKA O-Tackles, have a hard time benching 300 plus and squatting 400. The ones that do coming out of HS are freaks.
  8. When the balls comes out as quick as it does now it doesn't matter what you have on the Dline. Have to be able to stop the run though. There are some very fast, long, lean DEs out there. See LSU's DEs. 6'5"- 6'6" 24Up5ish that run 4.6's. WIllis at KSU 6'6" plus 270ish and very fast. Same type as Oakman at Baylor, Garrett at A&M, Clowney now with Texans.
  9. He was recruited to play DE. Bench 300 plus and ran 4.7 coming out of high school. Squat was never in that range, to many knee surgeries. Clocked 4.59 40 and benched 225lbs 20 reps at Pro day.. Your specs for top P5 Dlinemen weight should be in the 300+ range. I have always said it easier to find a D1 caliber QB than it is to find a D1 caliber Dlineman.
  10. DT 90 would have never played at North Texas. Coming out of high school only weighed 225 Lbs and was only 6'3". Played 95% of defensive snaps his Sophmore year. Played his Senior year, started all 13 games, at 250 lbs.
  11. What's a "Blue Shirt" ? Starts the day he becomes a full time student. Player can walk on his 5 year and he is done.
  12. Not really compared to other stadiums in the Big 12 and SEC. On the inside it is not much more than Apogee with a second deck all the way around and the toilet seat on top. It is a very nice football facility. Compared to La Tech, Southern Miss, Tulsa, ULM, Troy, Arkansas State and even Kansas State and the stands where "normal" people sit at Denny Bryant. Apogee is damn nice. Take it from someone who sat through recruiting visits at Fouts....
  13. I totally agree!
  14. Zach Orr with a nod to his two body guards.......90 and 97. EVER? 75 as a Steeler.
  15. So just don't pay any mind to every school from 4A on down? Take the very best kid from China Spring and LaVega every year and you would have a gold mine. Same could be said about Abilene Wylie, Carthage, West Orange Stark, Cameron, Malakoff and every other 4A-3A powerhouse in the state.
  16. Well hell. Can't believe everything you read on the internet google web. Applewhite to UT? Isn't he the reason UT has or did have a Title IX suit against them?
  17. This will be interesting. http://www.foxsports.com/college-football/story/rtdb-cougars-lane-kiffin-hired-as-head-coach-at-houston-120816
  18. I totally agree with you. 3rd and 2. Run the damn ball and get the first down. Now days its bubble screen and loose 4 yards or streak pattern and a 45 yard incomplete pass attempt.
  19. Yet those other states' big boy schools like Ohio State and Alabama both run the very same offense that you are hammering against. A&M and Oklahoma beat Alabama several years ago. What does Saban do? Changes OC and now runs the very same type of offense. As I pointed out above, Saban even went to Texas to get a QBs to run it. The difference is that both of these programs recruits and develops defensive players.
  20. Bob Stoops - University of Texas at Norman. Urban, Stoops, Saban all have tremendous success recruiting in Texas. All three of their QBs on present teams are from Texas. It's not whether they are from Texas but how they treat Texas high school coaches when they interact with them. Mack Brown was a tremendous recruiter at Texas. He is a northerner.. from Tennessee. His reputation in THSFC circles is through the roof. Once he met you he remembered your name the next time he saw you.
  21. Made a WR do updowns on the sideline during a game because he did a solo celebration after a TD without his team mates.
  22. Yea I saw that. My Yoemen got beat by Malakoff though.
  23. But if I move from the north side of Waco to the south side of Waco to be closer to my existing job on the south side then my son cannot transfer from 2A school to play at a big 6 A school where he has better chance to get a D1 scholarship?? I am moving my legal residence.... Or my inner city Waco family cannot move out of dreadfully bad Waco ISD to go to a much higher rated China Spring ISD? Both are legal scenarios.
  24. Brock siphons kids from Weatherford.
