You shouldn't be surprised that there are lots of UNT alum, not just former football players, coaching at the high school level in Texas. I run into them all the time while reffing on Thursday and Friday night.
-
No, not to the public. Just like Apogee, you might finds gates open here and there but if you go in and start a workout someone will approach you, ask who you are then ask you to leave.

if Morris had the 2013 defense he would have been the bowl MVP..... just saying.

That gave me chills as I read each of their bios and recalled seeing them play on TV. I saw nearly all of them play (except the guys in the 40's and '50). Actually played with one of them in college (Childress). He only weighed about 270 lbs. He was on an entirely different level than the rest of us and mean as hell. I give it to Stautner. He played the game then coached both Lilly and White. I would have to add Jethro Pugh and Ernie Holms. Agreed , Perry was a clown. Should not even be mentioned in the same breath as these guys.

Has been their helmet decal for 50 years. it is a classic.

2-10 in a new system with very little left and what was left was totally beat down from the previous coach. UVA will be considerably better in 2021-2022 as long as Bronco Mendenhall and Frank Wintrich are still there. Hopefully UNT will be too.

I recall there was a LOT of red in the stadium. I doubt they were there to see the stadium. -
Games against Texas A&M are definitely a recruiting plus. I have said this before, not only the chance to play before 100K in huge stadiums but players like proving themselves against the "Big Boys". DT 90 had a blast going against the Outland Trophy winner Olineman at Alabama. The score board may have been lopsided but after that game, no game or no team was "to big" for him.

2020 - At Texas A&M. Be nice if there was return game on this one.

Not going to happen. They wouldn't do that to their new coach. They are running a tight ship along the lines of BYU right now. However, the conference is withholding 25% of the conference payouts. http://www.big12sports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=10410&ATCLID=211461596

Saw new DL coach Yellock at the Waco Midway spring game last night. Getting around to learn the local high schools.
-
SEC ? Well they wouldn't have a say. But they surely would try to pull some type of "Russian" interference in the process. And I was incorrect on my statement. They wont replace the 4th Texas school the same way they didn't replace the 5th Texas school. WVU is an outlier right now. That is why it is more important to the BIG 10 to get a partner. WVU will go ACC if this not corrected.

A Big 12 School in Houston? That would be a hard pill to swallow for every Big 10/SEC school in Texas and lots of SEC schools in the surrounding states. Just watch what happens if they ever get a place at the adult table. If Helton couldn't get them in, Applewhite is not going to be able to do it. No they will go with a team to tie in with West Virginia. That's what they were looking to do this past offseason. There will be no 5th Texas team if one leaves. I see BYU joining before UH.
-
In there dreams. There won't be another Texas school in the Big 10. Non-Texas schools will not allow it.

Yea Frisco is the bomb. No, haven't seen basketball game there but I have watched a high school football game there. Again, it's an average high school stadium (albeit enclosed) with way above average concessions. Not sure how they will split it up to make two courts and playing at the same time and control the noise aspect? Horns and whistles from one game impacting the other? Really? SEC played on one court at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. Big 12 played on one court in the Sprint Center in Kansas City. ACC played on one court at Madison Square Garden in NYC.

Yes. But, I am only speaking from past experience and how they are handled at other schools, most newbies/transfers train in a group separate from the exiting team.
-
75 to 80% plus. Transfers: If they are enrolled in school yes. Incoming freshman have their own program to report to before two a days start. They are not integrated into the rest of the team until fall work outs. They spend that time learning the training "system". Lots of kids show up not knowing how to train properly.
-
The S&C coaches are the only coaches that are allowed to "coach" during the summer. There is also organized/scheduled/mandatory training sessions. You will also find that there are "organized" ( by the QBs) 7 vs 7 games almost daily. College football is a year round job now days.

Nope not that time period.

Greatest High School Running Back You Ever Saw Play?

No. 1 Eric Dickerson - Sealy High School. A true MAN amongst boys. No. 2. Tra'von Smith - Cameron Yoe High School No. 3 Jorvorskie Lane - Lufkin High School Best I ever saw in person and played against? Bo Jackson - Auburn 1986 Cotton Bowl. Saw him play against China Spring last year. He put the ball on the carpet three times in that game after only fumbling twice all year long. Big reason for that is UNT Commit - LB Cody Fulp and his LB friends knocking the crap out of him nearly every play. He got 128 yds in the game but earned every step. -
Have you ever been to Allen Field House in Lawrence, Kansas? It is truly a barn with bleachers. I have seen rodeo arenas that have better facilities than that place. Doesn't seem to hold them back from recruiting top tier recruits.
