  1. So nobody switching to the DL??? Sorry, I had to.
  2. Orangebloods, insider info... "a source close to the situation told orangebloods.com, beer sales at texas athletics events will start tuesday night at the erwin center for the texas women's basketball game against tcu (7:30 pm ct). After that debut, beer sales will be available at texas baseball and softball games as well as men's and women's basketball games, the source told ob. The beer sales at ut sporting events this spring will serve as a "test... http://texas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1613716
  3. He is also very much on the radar. In regards to Silver Eagle's question, that will be answered on the practice field this Spring. It's even more wide open than the QB question.
  4. Pay attention to Lincoln, Dutton and Orr.
  5. TCU Assistant AD resigns over Facebook comment. http://www.star-telegram.com/2014/02/22/5592038/tcu-assistant-ad-resigns-in-wake.html?rh=1 Hit "skip add."
  6. It's part of the business. Look at successful/good coaches' resumes. Rarely do you see them stay longer than one or two years at a school early in their assistant coaching years.
  7. Actually its 3A and below. The key factor is footspeed. First thing outside of frame, height and weight that college recruiters look at. If guys who play Oline in college had that quality, they wouldn't be Olinemen. Watch high caliber college and NFL DTs and besides their size, what's the first thing that jumps out at you?
  8. Can he bring his friend.... No. 17 ?
  9. Abbe also played Dline in high school. In the past four years at UNT, I know of two instances where it was tried. They are both still Olinemen.
  10. There is another one ripening on the limb at Desoto right now. Will be ready in two years.
  11. it works both ways. If the ball is coming out in 2 seconds flat because the DBs are sitting 10 yards off the ball, Dline has no chance, not even at NFL standards. In return, Dline has to at least be able to move the QB. You don't always have to sack him or even hit him to be effective. As always, sacks are preferable though.
  12. Abbe was recruited and has been a DLineman since he came to UNT. See numerous threads/post regarding conversion of Olineman to Dlineman. BLUF - it doesn't work.
  13. Awesome!
  14. Dunham is returning from injury/surgery/rehab. "Zero" is Wallace's nickname from high school so that is what he called. Last year you earned 10 Points for having the best scores for the Week. I don't think they are doing that this year.
  15. NCAA Rules Timing Devices Rule 3/ARTICLE 4. a.Game Clock b. 40 Second Clock. 1. When an offical signals that the ball is dead, the play clock shall begin a 40 second count. Yes it will keep teams form doing as previously described (1 and 10 and running to the ball and snapping it) but overall it will have little impact. 2012 Houston was the "fastest" team running 3.02 plays per minute of possession or one play every 18.3 seconds. They would have be going a lot faster than that to really be impacted by the new rule. Plays per minute. Oregon - 2.83 Texas Tech - 2.69 Oklahoma - 2.68 Texas A&M - 2.67 MTSU- 2.64 La Tech- 2.64 Troy - 2.64 Tulsa - 2.61 Baylor- 2.59 Alabama was the slowest at 2.02 http://www.footballstudyhall.com/2013/4/24/4263582/tempo The impact of the other new rule is that of the "Targeting fouls". If it is deemed not to be targeting by review then there is no personal foul penalty.
  16. Its their Cumulative score from their workouts based upon these parameters: https://www.facebook.com/#!/306949465991872/photos/pb.306949465991872.-2207520000.1392407063./698467083506773/?type=3&theater
  17. Could have sworn TCUs' was the full length. Guess it was the full endzones that fooled me. Now you got me second guessing myself. i've been to all those that I listed. Most, if not all, over five years ago during the recruting process. Baylors' too? Damd it old age. Never mind. Don't listen to anything that I might have said.
  18. Yep, most are regulation. TCU's, ATM's, Baylor's, Alabama's, Kansas, LSU's and U of La's are for sure.
  19. One of Russia's biggest gangster's was on the Russian Olympic committee. He had lots of "friends"on the Ite selection committee and made sure that they were well taken care of. Saw this on the news when it first ran and it was still on ABC News website http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/alleged-heroin-kingpin-helped-russia-win-olympics-sochi/story?id=22295531
  20. "Volumn" comment is hard thing to read. You have players that are like Trice , constant chatter and pumping up the team mates and then you have players like Ryan, who will not say a word, a lead by example type. The volumn aspect has to be learned by the latter type player.
  21. Foot surgery a week or so ago.
  22. If you watch the highlights of North Texas' signees from Carthage, the QB that is throwing/handing the ball to them is Soza's replacement. Same type of QB.
  23. I wouldn't cast such a broad comment about the athletes. A lot of their parents have hocked everything in order to provide the necessary coaching/ locations to advance their skills. Lots of them don't even live with thier families for long periods of time nor do they attend regular schools. They are very privileged to represent their country but they and their families have paid a very high price (not monetary) for that privilege.
