No. The song that you are referring to is not the fight song.

Why "Baylor Sucks" is a Big Problem for UT
DT 90 replied to Tyler Maryak's topic in Mean Green Football
Make no mistake. As an Aggie living in Waco, I have no love for Baylor. Except when they play tu and tu-norman. -
Why "Baylor Sucks" is a Big Problem for UT
DT 90 replied to Tyler Maryak's topic in Mean Green Football
Baylor's problem was Baylor. Tthey didn't want UCF. They wanted Ohio St. It was the exact opposite of their bowl game the previous year when they played UCLA. UCLA didn't want to be in the San Diego Bowl and didn't want to play Baylor. -
"Free food at UNT@freefoodatUNT17h @I_Love_Apogee @NorthTexasTalk @CarlosDHarrisJr #SawEmOff #GMG" Looks like he said "Sawemoff". Did I mention anything about "break em off"?

Sorry, there is only one school that "saws them off". GMG!

Assured Baylor will now hang 100 on them in Waco this season. -

I guess Ryan will get his call after week 1. That is when the DLine revolving door starts. -

Book and DVD from Bowl-Winning Season
DT 90 replied to Mean Green 93-98's topic in Mean Green Football
Not focused toward nor ment for students nor casual fans. It is focused toward the players, their families and hard core Mean Green Football fans. $55 is pretty reasonable for DVD and Book. Several years agoTexas A&M's 12th man Kick Off Team Foundation sold a limited edition leather bound book about the origins of the all walk on 12th Man Kick off Team under Jackie Sherrill in the 80's. Sold out at $145 a pop and this was 30 years after the fact. My favorite saying, "Why Not NORTH TEXAS?" -
What is the atmosphere like for the spring game?
DT 90 replied to MeanGreen55's topic in Mean Green Football
In the stands, it's generally very laid back. The action on the field is very intense though. Unless you are watching or have vested interest in a specific player, you will be ready for it to be over when it comes to an end. -
Don't know if this has been posted or not. http://articles.elitefts.com/training-articles/north-texas-football-performance-the-development-of-a-multi-year-system-of-training-for-collegiate-football-players/

Allen was extremely strong, that was just a bonus He was freaking cat quick and fast. Those "three" in combination made him exceptional!

Okay, here is something interesting. MOPAR compared Brandan Byrd's performance to the RB that attended the NFL Combine, I compard Ryan's numbers. His 4.59 is 3rd fasted for DE's. Fastest for DT's. Even his "Averaged" 40 is 11th for DE's and 2nd for DT's. For DEs he is Top 20 on everything else. For DT's he is Top 5 on everything except Bench. Granted... he in not 6'6" and doesn't weight 300 lbs either. As he say's, "Should have played better in college."
-
Ryan ran 4.91 against the wind and 4.59 with the wind. They take the average - 4.75 Bench - 19 Verticle - 32 inches Broad jump 9'5" All PRs except Bench (20) I didn't get theShuttle or the "L" times.

Need to make a correction. Derek is out there on his own time.
-
Derek is an Intern in the Athletic Office as is Ryan in Strength and Conditioning. Both are graduating in May with their Masters. They are out at practice because it is part of their Internship.

"Speed is a big deal, I just think size can wear you down in the second half and it may put more of the onus on the offense to build leads and start off strong." How many times did you see the D-line get worn down in the second half last year? How many times did you see the Dline wear out the opponents Oline in the second half? The answers will be the same for the up coming season.

It will be their first sell out. We will never hear the end of it.
-
Neither did the players. That is why you never saw them again.
-
I disagree. MacCareny's first two years laid the foundation for last year and beyond. The senior class from 2013 was very much a part of the first two years too. There was progress made in a lot of different areas. They just did not add up to wins. 2011 and 2012 had a lot of disappointments but they certainly were not futile.
-
From one person's perspective, no one was unbeatable. You win some and you lose some, just have to make sure you win more than you lose. There were ones that were tougher to defeat than others. Ybarbo was the one that was mentioned because he was shorter than the Dlinemen and much harder to get underneath.

First UNT Practice of 2014 Observations
DT 90 replied to Christopher Walker's topic in Mean Green Football
If you are not used to seeing games and practices up close, the size and speed is pretty awesome. That is what gets to most freshman in their first practices. Night and day difference from high school to College no matter what level of high school you come from. -

Just wait.......your little boy will need "ear muffs". -
Practices are "generally" two hours long (24 five minute periods).

None in the past 5 years.
