  1. His throwing motion/mechanics need work, but there's always potential with someone who's legit 6-3 and athletic.
  2. Nevertheless, Proche is probably the highest-rated senior they have, including Bryce English (UCLA), Kevin Thomas (Kansas, for now), and Jatory Sparks-Brown (SDSU). Ohio State has already offered their junior QB, Tristen Wallace, but it wouldn't be surprising if OSU caught up with Proche while they were there, especially with him being an SMU commit and the turmoil going on there.
  3. The misconceptions about 40 times are out of control. If he runs a laser 4.6, that's pretty damn fast, especially if he's actually 6-0, 185. Goree was a laser 4.58 as a 6-foot-2 16-year-old and that's flying for a tall, skinny, young kid. So the story says he's 6-0, 185 with a 4.6. Then it says " If he was a few inches taller or a couple tenths of a second faster, then maybe the scholarships would come." Well, yeah, no kidding ... if he was LaQuon Treadwell or Ricky Seals-Jones he'd probably have more offers.
  4. Then it sounds like your issue is with which part of practice was recorded.
  5. "These memes are an affront to my upbringing."
  6. "Working on the fundamentals" is not what a strength and conditioning coach does. Anywhere. In any sport.
  7. Run down? Must not seen many run-down neighborhoods.
  8. Wow. Haven't seen that name in a long time. He played with former 5-star WR Trey Metoyer at Whitehouse. I think their QB is at SFA now.
  9. Not what I said. If you have a subscription-driven school-specific site, there's incentive for that school's targets to get seen more than if there is no subscription-driven school-specific site. That doesn't mean they'll get favorable evaluations or favorable re-evaluations; it means they'll have a better chance of getting legitimately evaluated in the first place.
  10. I agree with half and disagree with half, and the reasons are related. First, if you think recruits are being graded by the major networks "based off a 4-minute junior highlight on Hudl," you're completely unfamiliar with the system. However, you're exactly right in saying that North Texas not having a school-specific site on a network is a big reason UNT's recruits/classes are often hard to gauge. Networks (excluding ESPN, which scrapped its school-specific sites last year) are forced to concentrate on players who are recruited by schools that have big subscription bases for their school-specific site. That means the school-specific beat guys -- and especially the regional and national analysts -- have far more incentive to evaluate those guys and see them in person as many times as possible because there are subscriptions at stake. Schools such as Texas, Ohio State, Alabama, etc. have thousands upon thousands of subscribers supporting multiple network-based, school-specific sites. In other words, it's much easier said than done, but if you want that type of evaluation of your targets/classes, a network has to know it's worth investing manpower, if even part-time, to a school-specific site for a non-P5 program.
  11. He played the first two games, but yes, you are correct. I just wanted to make sure somebody wasn't saying that Nate Brooks is more athletic than Justin Dunning, who was one of the best defensive players at The Opening this past week.
  12. Wait ... is this in response to my earlier post about Justin Dunning?
  13. I like that North Texas is not having this July 18, when schools such as Texas, Baylor, and LSU are also having events. Not because North Texas is gonna get the elite guys who will be at those schools; because there are solid FBS-caliber players who aren't gonna get offers from the high-major schools who don't understand that and will be at those camps, anyway.
  14. I'm willing to accept that I'm in the minority on this one. LSA has taken over as the most popular spot on the square and I strongly dislike it. The food isn't bad, but it's nothing you can't duplicate at home. Also, there's an almost 1-to-1 employee to customer ratio, which makes for about 50 employees standing around doing nothing at all times.
  15. Great food places -- Andaman Thai (221 E Hickory -- get Bangkok drunken noodle with seafood) -- Sushi Cafe (1401 W Oak -- great "happy hour" deals and an insane list of house mixed drinks) -- Loophole (119 W Hickory -- yes, since it's reincarnation, it has very good food, especially hamburgers, which are half-price after 8 p.m. each Wednesday) -- Mazatlan (1928 N Ruddell -- good Mexican food) -- Want to try: Keiichi, Viet Bites, Czen, Queenie's, Giuseppe's Great drink places -- Mulberry Street Cantina (110 W Mulberry -- great fresh-fruit margaritas and happy-hour deals) -- East Side (117 E Oak -- huge draft list, huge whiskey selection, very reliable in the scenery department) -- Dan's Silverleaf (103 Industrial -- not the cheapest or the widest drink selection, but Denton's finest music venue and an all-around awesome place run by great folks) -- Hickory Street Lounge (212 E Hickory -- great place to watch a game; has some crazy Jack-and-Coke deal that's like $2.75 daily) -- Want to try: Paschal's PS -- I pray Sweetwater's August return brings something at least somewhat similar to its prior incarnation.
  16. If you're using Internet Explorer, don't forget to tap the primer about 8-10 times before crankstarting.
  17. Or they're going by the dictionary definition. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/alumni
  18. Um ... "look man, I made a mistake and I'm gonna handle whatevers coming to me like a man ..."
  19. Ellis pretty much incriminated himself replying to Ben Gooding in that tweet thread.
  20. Also, some of y'all gotta introduce yourselves to brevity. If it's more than about four or five sentences, you're trying too hard.
