North Texas vs. Iowa OFFICIAL Game Thread
BigDanTeague replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
They rushed four on that play. They've rushed three several times on obvious third- and fourth-down passing situations. -
Agree. It's a miracle what this staff has done. Sixty-eight scholarship players. At the FBS level. And you enter the final regular-season game playing for bowl eligibility. Folks need some perspective.

Morris deserves a lot of credit tonight.

Oregon isn't 3-7 because it has endless uniform combinations.

This is a good pickup. -

It's too bad Texas High keeps its Hudl private. -
Emmet Perry is a bad dude.

'17 QB Cade Pearson (Texas High) [LOI: NT]
BigDanTeague replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Lot of times with QB's, they commit early and pretty much shut it down. That goes from P5 to G5. Now, it's certainly not out of the question for a P5 to change that and come snag a G5 commit late, but it's harder to do at QB because schools, regardless of conference affiliation, often take only one HS QB per cycle. -

He's not really position-versatile other than maybe being able to play either of the two traditional safety roles. A 4.78 laser isn't bad, but it's also not gonna enamor programs that may not already know much about him. He's a solid player. Like the offer. -
'17 DT/DE Terrell Cooper (Lindale) [LOI: TCU]

He's bigger than Hamilton at that age. -
'17 QB Devlin Isadore(Navarro JC)
BigDanTeague replied to MGNation92's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Definitely think he's worth a take given his measurables and the future depth chart behind Fine at QB. Wouldn't surprise me if UNT tried to get a second HS QB this cycle, but if it doesn't, having Isadore complement the Pearson pledge is good. -

Good frame potential. Long kid. -

Probably a SDE, but possible he could grow into a one-gap 3-tech in an even front. -
17 CB/S Willie Miles III (Mansfield Timberview)
BigDanTeague replied to BTG_Fan1's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
He's a hybrid nickel/safety with a nose for the ball. Corner size and in-the-box safety mentality. Tough kid. -
He didn't have a catch tonight and he's still the team leader in receptions. Safe to say he's getting plenty of attention from opponents.

A request to the AD from a distant person

It's definitely not easy to find an online audio stream in a quick manner. -
He had nine catches for 100 yards vs. Middle. He'll be fine.

Yeah, man. Terrible situation with a consensus five-star waiting to take over at QB. The horror.

Yes, headlines are very rarely written by writers, if ever. Generally the desk writes the headlines. Since they're doing the design, they know what size (font and length) for which they have room. That said, it's a longtime flaw of newspapers because writers will often catch hell for bad headlines of which they were not at all involved.

Stuff to do in San Antonio next month?

Roderick Young's get-off and punch on that play were outstanding. General observation: Elex Woodworth is gonna be a player.

This team has fewer players on scholarship than last year, and last year's team would've gotten absolutely woodshedded after getting down 17-0. The biggest weaknesses were O-line and linebackers. O-line could not protect Morris from SMU's pressure. The UNT D-line did a respectable job after the first quarter, and many times properly protected the backers, who just couldn't get to the ball-carriers. People who are already mailing it in on this staff ... I don't know what to tell you. Both of these teams were noticeably better than last year.

This is ludicrous. Completely out of touch with reality.
