LF someone who is good with the interwebs to update our NT wiki page. I don't know how that stuff works. Too old. We've added some conference championships in a few sports since the last update http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Texas_Mean_Green#Conference_Titles

If I went strictly off Oscars for "Best Actor", I would have to say Daniel Day Lewis. Jack Nicholson has two "Best Actors" and one supporting actor award. Is Tom Hanks up there? What about Denzel Washington? or Robert DeNiro? for playing iconic roles such as Indiana Jones and Han Solo, is Harrison Ford in the conversation? Clint Eastwood? I know I'm missing some other good actors, but if I had to go top 5 based on my own criteria I think i'd go in no particular order Denzel Washington Tom Hanks Heath Ledger Robert DeNiro Leonardo DiCaprio

If the Big 12 decides they need a CCG, then the most logical choices seem to be level 1: BYU, Cincinnati level 2: South Florida, Memphis level 3: Houston, New Mexico, Tulane, UConn

FIFY...kind of texas tech is more than a decade away, if they're even that close...Not necessarily the company you should want to be keeping. Also added in Rice, since you omitted them. It's comical that you think the Big 12 is worried about the academic side when they recently added West Virginia and TCU to the already academic powers of Baylor, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and Kansas State Rutgers does not secure the NYC market. Not even a blip.

Very astute observations. I think, for the most part, Texas wants nothing to do with Houston the school, except Texas very much needs Houston the city. UH to the Big 12 makes as much, or more, sense than Rutgers and Maryland to the B1G. If TCU can do it, surely Houston can too. The nutless bovines should be terrified of UH when they recall all those times they were being blown out by Jack Pardee's cougars

Some questions for those pro-fans who travel
10Eagle10 replied to Christopher Walker's topic in Mean Green Football
last year the ticket office sold face value tix in the visitor's bloc to season ticket holders. They aren't the best seats in the stadium, but they are in the Green section, they are cheap, and you know the source (as opposed to secondary markets). If you haven't already, I would call the ticket office up and get season tickets for 2013. They have a pretty sweet MGC deal for recent grads...you can get parking and tickets for the full season for less than $100. As a class of '10 grad, i'm still benefitting from the recent grad discounts. I'm hoping to get a better job here soon so I can up the ante -

maybe the Sun Belt should go all the way up to NY and add Army as football only, while extending an all sports invite to NMSU

Boise State Counters Lawsuit Threat from Former Big East
10Eagle10 replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Boise announced they were joining the Big East in December 2011. Shortly after that, ND announced they would be joining the ACC for Olympic sports. In July 2012, it was announced that the BE would officially lose thier AQ bid. In Nov. 2012, Rutgers announced they were leaving to join the Big Ten and Louisville announced their ACC move. Shortly after these two moves, Tulane and, ultimately, ECU were added. The "Catholic 7" decision to leave was leaked the last week of Nov/first week of Dec. Navy released a statement saying they would "take a hard look before deciding." At this point Boise decides the future "AAC" is no better than the MWC and announces their decision to remain in the Mountain West on New Year's Eve 2012. I think Boise has a pretty solid case that what they signed up for wasn't intact anymore since Rutgers/Louisville left, Tulane/ECU were added (not west of the Mississippi - I think Tulane is barely east of it, though), and Navy was expressing doubts. This move makes the AAC look desperate, don't you think? -

other than the following, I agree with the sentiments posted on here I will never root for the "flagship" I've only been associated with our fine institution for about 7 years, but all of this is pretty depressing to think about. This guy's really hoping for a good 2013

A&M SGA Bill
10Eagle10 replied to meanJewGreen's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
I might be wrong on this, but it seems like a student who is GLB should probably know that A&M is not the place for them. I don't think there are any programs where A&M is the sole provider in the state. Let A&M pass their bill..perhaps more GLB will come here to UNT where we're more tolerant and will eventually become donors to the Alumni Assoc and MGC -

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/id/9130997/former-big-east-named-american-athletic-conference The conference announced the decision Wednesday after university presidents approved the new moniker earlier in the day. "Versions that included the word 'American' led every list," commissioner Mike Aresco said in a statement. "American Athletic Conference represents a strong, durable and aspirational name for our re-invented Conference."

why did UNT90 get all that negative cred? sure, he might deserve it sometimes, but in this case he's spot on. For anyone who tossed out the negative points and is willing to discuss it, I'd like to know why YOU think Louisiana-Monroe and all the other Sun Belt teams are such great adds? I sure as heck can't think of a single positive to Sun Belt 2.0. If you enjoyed the Sun Belt, then thats an ok answer.. I'd just like to hear you say it. sounds pretty awful to me
