Comparing the best big men in the NCAA hoops

Yes some of it is about production but like most late draft pics he will ride the pine. You are acting like he would be a start or garner 20 minutes a night! -

It is not an issue of a deep draft... it is an Issue of play time, salary, and already established teams! -

I am really not understanding where you guys are pulling these numbers from... outside of one espn source I have not seen him even mentioned in the 2012 draft... I am not saying it is impossible but from what the NBA scouts have said the past few games I really do not understand where your getting your information from. There have been great players like Boozer or Ginobili taken in the draft late but they do not make an impact for a while. The simple reason is the salary structure. Go ahead and tell Cuban to play Yi or Wright over Haywood because both are more productive... which is true! The simple fact is he is owed 6 million a year over the next 4 years and most owners/coaches are not going to let that money sit on the end of the bench so some second round 800k a year player can get his minutes. Please try watching the NBA.. why did Roddy not play earlier? Why did guys like Boozer or Redd have to wait a while to get into the game? If he is a lotto pick or maybe a first rounder (which I still have not seen the signs) then he may get 15 minutes or more a game... Most likely if he goes this year he would go at best in the late first round to an already established team like the spurs or the Celtics and ride the pine behind the veteran players. The day Tony Mitchel gets to start over a fresh Paul Pierce or Richard Jefferson you call me! -
Not sure If I should state my exact opinion... obviously I want a win, but it would not hurt to have Middle win out before we beat them in the finals of the sunbelt tourney! It would be nice to see the belt get two bids again. I will be cheering my arse off for UNT but either way its a good thing for our conference and when Tony, CJ, and Williams come back next year they wont know what hit them! (hopefully we will be in a new conference soon)

It's Time: Lower the NCAA Shot Clock to 24 Seconds
Andrew replied to UNTflyer's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I have been saying this for years! I hate the fact that here in Texas we do not use a shot clock in high school ball! It allows the other teams to sit on the ball for minutes with the lead! It slows down the pace and Johhny always seems to take full advantage of that 35 seconds! -

Exactly... Even if he does well he will ride the bench because they are not going to play a player who is making 850,000 minutes over a player who they are paying 6,000,000.... That is just how that is just how the nba works! Now when his contract is up in 2/4 years depending on the rookie option then he can get paid more if he shows up in practice and play the minutes he deserves. -

The only reason he would go to the NBA this year would be the fact he was blessed with a very athletic body ready for the NBA. He still makes foolish mistakes the prove night in night out he is not ready for the hardwood. He is an exceptional player! But needs another year to develop or the NBA will eat him alive... he will ride the pin for 3 or 4 years before getting the minutes he could get if he were a lotto pick and waited one more year. -

He also has more fouls and turnovers then the bigs listed... He still has a lot of developing to do and he will be in a UNT jersey next fall and wind up being a lottery pick in 2013... Perry Jones stayed a year the Plumlees have stayed multiple years... Sullinger stayed a long time! Most players are now going as sophomores or juniors -
I prefer to start Norris, Hall, Mitchel, Edwards, and Hogans Leaving plenty of juice off the bench! They do not have to stay in for long... but it gives us a ton of depth!
-
Nationally televised game my a$$.... I spread the word the game would be on TV... and its not even listed on ESPN! Somebody dropped the ball....
-
why are we being chraged for it but I can watch crappy high school girls basketball games or a divsion 2 basketball game on espn 3... literally like every team but UNT plays on there!!!!
-
I can watch Georgia Southern v Samford.... St Peters v Ryder.... SHSU v SFA.... yet I cannot watch a UNT game on ESPN 3... Really....
-
ESPN 3?

Second round picks do not make millions and the latest mock draft has him going 18th in the 2013 draft... not even in the 2012 draft. There is a chance he could go to the nba this year but not sure where all the rumors are coming from. If he wants to make the big bucks he needs to hold out a year and try to lock in a lottery pick.

I hope this video does not get deleted as well.... http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10100599228049220

Why not stay and build your stock another year. Make sure you are a solid lotto pick where more money is to be made! At this point I see him as maybe a late 1st round pick... but who knows

The man can sky for the ball, if he is calling for it lob it in! He will bring it down just about every time and make a power house move.

I am waiting for the chicken fling to come back! And a larger half prize for a half court shot! I remember many many years ago they were giving away $10,000 for a half court make and the second or third person to ever compete nailed the shot and that pretty much ended that one. They did not do a half court shot contest again... They switched it to a free throw shoot out. We need more events! # point contest, lay up free throw 3 pointer half court contest... etc...

Making the call...today is the day Chris Jones finally gets his triple double!
-
that is... but 2 classes.... man its still unbelievable

I am not saying he is a top 5 player... but the boy can contribute! That's a fact. There was a time where he had offers from other D1 schools but decided to stay here to pursue acting. He is a pure athlete. He does not always make the right decision on the floor but works hard off off it. The definition of a hustler
-
No one has ever treated him as a D1 ballel....
-
Well he did play in division one and division two so maybe it was just before he transferred out. Though I have still heard of books being covered etc.. at another Texas institution.
