I just go off what I have heard from what I believe to be a reliable source and then also from CJ himself.

I like the way you phrased your point and I agree. We could have had a one possession game near the end, but we missed a lot of key free throws. I would love to shoot better at the line. We seem to hit them in the first half and fall off near the end. Something I am sure the team is working on. The players know they need to hit them and are probably at the gym shooting right now (I hope)

FYI that is still in the top 25% in the nation. Not sure if that is abysmal.
-
I never said we should not. I just feel like often times we are much better at FT's then people think.
-
Are we not the best free throw shooting team in the belt?

He sits right by Walton. He wears the Nike hat. Benford talks to him often times before he meets with the team before a time out. He is learning a lot and should be back by hot springs. (I believe)

It's called confidence. Maybe you should try it. I hope our coaches and players haves little more heart then you. I just prefer to never give up. You realize even if we hedge we would still be giving up uncontested lay ups and threes. You leave the screen setter open for a split second he cuts and if you slide down on him often times you will leave a 3 point shooter open. Hedging is great but sometimes it back fires. Especially when a team has a lot of height miss matches or great 3 point shooters. Anyway... I agree there were a few plays in the second half we should have Hedged and did not. Instead we went under the screen and gave the shooter space. It is always easier said then done when it comes to stopping a team from scoring. Let's just continue to cheer this team on and see what happens when we get some depth back. Also could we get Colman on that jump rope team. He really needs some footwork in the post. He is so stiff. Maybe jumping rope will loosen him up.

We will have Jordan, Chris, Alzee, PJ,Walton, TJ, Keit.... Well we will have those other guys..

Anything impossible in hot springs! Though the low seed in the big dance will not be fun.... I will be happy to make it though

Lol that's pretty funny. But hey if it works and gets us though hot springs! Tonight's game was hard fought but we did not have enough gas at the end. We will slowly heal by hot springs and be more prepared.

LSU fan with a question about Johnny Jones
Andrew replied to Chase LOLZORZ's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I can agree that with injuries improvement will be hard to come by. At this point I am also looking into next season. CJ will be a leader next season. I was down on him earlier this season but I have good reason to believe that next season he is going to step it ip on the court and be a vocal leader off the floor as well. That right there is a bright enough future for me. Throw in our deep line up of guards and 3 point shooters and it looks great. I am still worried about our post play with only Colman coming back (if he is welcomed back). Any news on s transfer for juco pf.... -

He is not my boy but I still believe he will be an excellent coach. I believe that people are wrong on these boards when say that he has lost the respect of the players or has no clue how to be a head coach. I believe that people are wrong when they say that Benford cannot lead us into a winning season and the Big Dance. I just do not get where people come up with the idea that players are transferring either. Sure 18 year olds make some brash and (at times) poor decisions, but do not assume that they are discontent like some people behind their computer keys. Sure the season has not lived up to the hype (by far) but there are still a lot of games left and a bright future ahead (next season). -

I never mentioned poor defense or losing to a D2 school. I mentioned player performance and relatively simple tasks where the blame was placed on the Coach. I do not absolve Benford from everything this season. Calling for his removal is ridiculous though... The season has been poor on both sides. I still see an upside and especially going forward into next season when CJ is 100% and grown under Benford's tutelage. -
Their RPI is 38. They are a sold team all around though. We have a chance (as we always do). It really depends on which UNT team shows up and if Alzee is good to go.

You sure...? I think there are a lot that would argue it is coaching... I mean they do not respect the coach so they miss free throws and turn over the ball right? You might need to ask Emmitt or Doctor Seuss etc... They are the experts.- 152 replies

We need as many bodies in the post as we can get next season! -
Lucky to get him back? The plan is to have him back before hot springs.... Though with injuries who knows.
-
..... I was referring to more then just man power and bodies on the bench.

LSU might as well be 6-9 and not beating a single solid team. Johhny can recruit though and next year I think yall be much better off. It takes teams time to get use to a new coach and his system. -
We will be dangerous come Hot Springs as long as there are no further injuries

Nice win... now watching LSU v Georgia

That sucks for him. At least he can still play golf. It would be nice to get to see him on the court again this year since it is his last season. Even if he just spots of the corner and is protected in a zone d. This team has been completely diminished due to injuries. It's time for Niko and Keith to step up.- 19 replies
