Depends on the crime they committed and if this is a character issue. It didn't sound like a big deal when it was reported in the Denton paper but maybe there is more to the story. All three were highly anticipated transfers and one was set to start at corner so we definitely could use them back but not if they are going to cause problems in the future.

It's not the same. They aren't getting reps in practice and in position meetings. Even the NFL ddoesn't just throw them back into a game without a couple of weeks of practice.

What is next? The players get money in their NIL account for every touchdown, interception, sack, ect?

If they aren't going to be reinstated by conference play, kick them off the team. If they are going to be allowed back, I wanted to know if the suspension allows them to practice. If not, after 4-5 weeks, they won't be in shape enough to play this year.

I was thinking that they might hold them out until AAC play starts. No information, just a guess. Otherwise, just kick them off the team. Does anyone know if they have been able to participate in practice during the suspension?

My biggest problem with playing the 3-3-5 is that you have to have the right personal to run it and they have to have experience in it. With NIL and the transfer portal, it will always be a revolving door. I think you have to play a really basic defense that you can plug and play guys that transfer in. It is a gimmick defense that we don't have the players or experience to run correctly. I can't believe that Caponi couldn't run a basic 4-3 if he wanted to. It doesn't matter if our defense confuses people when they are running up and down the field at will on us. Morris needs to set in and make this decision. Keep Caponi until the end of the year but make him change the defensive scheme. We still have plenty of games left to have a successful season but waiting on this defense to come together isn't working.

Anyone heard an update on Jett Duncan's injury? He is still listed as the starter at center.

You don't need to bash a local restaurant that's owner is a big UNT supporter.

What are the odds that he actually suits up for us? If he has a great senior year, the NIL cash from the big boys will increase. When they say 1000% committed, that is usually the kiss of death.

Why do we give TCU a pass on this board? When was the last time they played us in Denton? They won't even play us in any sport home or away. Their fans aren't as obnoxious as Smut, but they are just as bad about it being beneath them to play UNT.

Still lots of good players still in the portal. Good to have one opening for one that signs later this summer.

So Buggs is the only one that hasn't found a new school yet? I heard that he had some good schools interested.

JJ was a walk-on but earned a scholarship after his first or second year. No time frame on when portal players sign. The only deadline is for when they must have entered the portal.

I think we should hold on to that last spot and see if some higher rated guys in the portal don't find a home this summer.

In limited minutes averaged one block per 18 min. FT percentage is concerning but hopefully he can improve on it. At least get it up around 60%.

Time to hit the portal and go get some offense!
