Saw that Jeremy Combs has been able to play basketball again. This time for Johnny Jones at Texas Southern. He's starting and seems healthy again. Great place for him with JJ. They are playing a killer non conference schedule so Combs will get to play against quality opponents. Wish him and JJ all the best. Hope we can get them on the schedule next year. JJ will build a strong program.

Anyone heard any update on Tope Arikawe's injury from Sunday night? Looked bad. I know Smart is out of the boot and shooting so hopefully he is getting close but no need to rush him. Also haven't heard about the freshman Wise or transfer Alcinder and when they may be back. Could use some bulk and rebounding down low. Go Mean Green!

31-27 North Texas Mean Green rise up from the ashes of last week and knock off FAU. Revenge is best served COLD!

What's up with UNT player spitting on ODU player!

Yeah but they put their name on it so it's their responsibility to make sure others provide a quality broadcast. -

Denton ISD kids would do a better job filming that game. Worst I've ever seen. Someone at ESPN should have to answer for such horrible coverage. -
As far as fan expectations, Seth has said on BTG how this team is special. I bought in to that so this loss is really hard to swallow. It's a good team but "special" teams win these games. Hope we can regroup in a hurry for FAU next Thursday. I'll be really shocked if we don't come out and play great next week after the two butt kicking they gave us last year. This team plays better as an underdog.

Anyone know if they will be broadcasting the games this weekend? I know Hank and Dave are on the football call Saturday,
-
As long as he's ready to go for Conference! No need to rush him back.
-
I saw Roosevelt Smart at the game Saturday with several teammates and he had a walking boot on. Anyone have any information about the injury. Hope it's nothing that will keep him out for an extended time.

Class act and great coach at Ryan!

It sucks not being able to repeat as champions of the West but we still have some goals that can be reached this year. We need to win our bowl game and if we win out, we will set a record for most wins in a season by a North Texas football team. An 11-2 season would still look good.

I like being aggressive in the right situations but we had all of the momentum and hadn't been running the ball well. I know if we make it and go score it might be a dagger but just don't think it was worth the risk/ reward with a two score lead. Let's go beat the crap out of Rice! Go Mean Green.

Didn't say he was a bad coach or that he hasn't done a fantastic job rebuilding the program. He's still learning and gonna have growing pains. Both losses were big games. I just think it takes some of the shine off. I hope he stays at least one more year. We will be one of the favorites to win the West again next year. If your defending that 4th down decision...your the delusional one!
-
You have to punt on that 4th and 2! At least the Littrell is gone at the end of the year rumors will stop for awhile...and the sick kids are happy. We should have had the name of homeless kids on our jerseys. Sometimes it ain't easy being green.

DRC Friday Q&A with Evan Dudley of the Alabama Media Group

And, they are playing for sick and crippled kids. -
I was told that Conference USA changed their rules on replay and only allow the officials decide if a review is needed. Coaches can't challenge.

Anyone know the bowl ties for Conference USA this year and bowl dates? Trying to look at holiday schedules.

DRC: UNT releases nonconference hoops slate

I think the Hawaii trip is all about recruiting, as was the Europe trip this summer. Traveling to places like that appeals to kids that normally don't have the opportunity or resources to visit those kind of spots. The extra practice was a bonus. That still doesn't excuse the lack of quality opponents at home. Now that the NCAA says that RPI doesn't matter, maybe scheduling teams you know you can beat is the way to go. Won't excite a lot of real fans but the average college student will just look at the won loss record. As the program builds, I think it will be easier to get some big name opponents to make the trip. Indiana State is a mid major but has a strong basketball reputation so big schools don't look as bad if they get beat on the road to a quality, recognizable program. I trust Wren and Grant know what is best for this program and will do everything they can help build up the fan base. -
Found it. SEC network is replaying the game at 2 am tonight.
-
Anyone know if there is a full game replay out there? Would love to watch it again!

My tab at Eastside was worth every dollar! Especially the fireball shots at the end of the game. Great performance by the defense! We out coached them today! Go Mean Green! Beat Liberty.
