The only thing last nights "championship" game proved is how bad the NCAA needs a playoff system of minimum 8 teams. Go on and get your 6 super conferences set with two mid-major. Each conference winner goes to the playoff system. Division winners that do not win conferences, then the best teams with a "power" ranking make up the remaining bowls.

It was amazing to see JM reduce OU defense to a mediocre defense at best. Stoops / Stoops had no answer.

Silver Eagle...i too, for personal reasons, interested in how the O line works out. Was a very good O line this past year with 4 returning starters. Competition with redshirts and transfers will only make it better.

going to stay on the fence.....it will be good competition this spring in several positions, not just qb. good competition makes for a better football team. we did have some talent sitting out during the fall. lets see what spring brings us.

I would be OK with a high school coach as a special teams coach. Certainly not down with a TD redo at a head coach...but special teams...I could support the right guy.

This will be the first of many. Going to be interesting to see where he ends up. The first thought would be he would go to TAMU, but you have Johnny Football who is a redshirt freshman, then you have the Southlake qb committed to TAMU...I am surprised that he hasn't changed his comittment yet. He will have a great trainer...his dad trains some of the top qb's in private lessons in DFW.

I love the bowl games....yes, i would prefer a playoff system, but it is college football and a better alternative to watching pro. until we get that perfect playoff system...give me bowls...lots of them

I like this kid!!! Wheels, hard hitting....one year with him mentoring some of our younger guys could be a really great thing.

Good news....Love the first game at home against Idaho. Needs to be hotter n hell to welcome them from a cooler climate.

Causal fan...a true fan is one that when the horses are dead or dying, the wheels are off, gets out of the wagon and grabs the rope and drags the whole shooting match...horses and wagon....wheels or no wheels. But the key to getting that wagon REALLY MOVING is to have someone in the back ready to get muddy as hell and is pushing while others are pulling. We need pullers and pushers. I know many of you have been in and around the wagon for many years...both on and off the field and have hung in there with the MEAN GREEN through great and not so great times. I just like what I see that helps me be maybe the ultimate optimist. Oh...sorry for starting the wagon comparison. MERRY CHRISTMAS.....GO MEAN GREEN

Hope there can be a fix where our last 4 games are not away. As it sets, pretty goofy travel schedule. Non con...2-2.... hopefully 3-1. Conf games....I dont see a team that we can't beat...I see some tough games, i.e., La Tech, Tulsa, Rice...maybe. I go back and say that good teams win games it should win....great team finds a way to win some games that they shouldn't. I still think we are a young team, but I also see us a better team than this past year. Competition at key positions will make each player and the team better. We had some good players sitting out this past season, a key injury, and I think we have some good redshirts. If we are a good team, we have 6 wins....if we have a great team or even a great team in the making, I think 8 wins. If we over achieve, I can see us loosing only 1 game. Again, please understand my perspective....I never think a game any of my 3 boys play in we get beat; not because of their play, but because I am their greatest fan and motivator...and I believe that on any given game day, anyone can beat anyone. Bottom line...I think we are 7-8 wins this year and that we are in position in 2014 for pure greatness with a good combination of youth and older guys. MERRY CHRISTMAS....GO MEAN GREEN

Younger....middle Trussbuss. 6'4", 180 DE. Target weight for fall is 210-220. Sounds like a lot, but Martins strength coach put 30 lbs on big Trussbuss in 4 months with diet and lifting. (there is some girth in the family) Middle Buss will be a jr this upcoming year. Only 15 will not be 16 till 7/4 so he is young for his age. Will be a busy summer getting him to camps. Martin has a history of making some pretty good DE's....hope it rubs off.

Pretty radical...think I like the earlier uni's that were being shown a few weeks ago better. Helmet reminds me too much of Philadelphia Eagles. Still curious if RV and DM will make a change.

Mean Green Texan...not directing this toward anyone special...just making an observation. I think next year is going to be fun. Fun meaning wins I too want to ride this wagon with all yall too....all the way to many bowl games in the future. My middle son is actually starting his initial recruiting process and shows some favoritism towards the MEAN GREEN. Think big brother is sitting on him....LOL Have a Merry Christmas and hope to meet you on the tailgate next year.

Key to a good season is to win the games you should win...key to a GREAT season is to win the games you are supposed to win and then win some you should not win. Rice, La Tech and Tulsa, Georgia fit that last category and Rice could fit either category.

Many team face these issues every year and the coaches and AD have to make tough decisions that will be best for all concerned. Coach Mac and RV will do the right thing. And when their decision comes down regardless of what it is, we need to be supportive, and help in whatever way we can for this team to move on.

I am with Gray Eagle, except I am putting us down with 8-9 wins and if the the cards fall right, I could see even better with Georgia being the only major hurdle. JUCO signees along with competition in many positions in the spring....Regardless...this time next year, we will be celebrating a strong CUSA finish and be BOWLING...MARK IT DOWN. Winning cures all!!!
