Where'd you play high school football and when?
trussbussdad replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
North Mesquite Stallions...graduated in 1978. In 1977 was named District 10-4A defensive player of the year as a 190lb noseguard. Went 5-5 my jr year. Several had us as favorites to win state with 17 returning starters for my sr year. We went 1-8-1....that season still haunts me. Had some small offers, because of my size. Decided to go the JUCO route...Henderson Co. Jr College (now Trinity Valley) in hope of putting on weight and transferring to Baylor. Was still too small and ended up going to East Central Oklahoma.- 61 replies

Silver Eagle....good catch. Wish I could manage just one mistake per day.

Y'barbo plays 8' tall / 450 lbs.

OFFICIALLY...."Big C" as his mom refers to him, is 6'5, 297 ish....Believe the one that supplements his meal plan. 197 lbs is close to his 7th grade playing weight and a typo on the roster. He does have a 16 year old brother (class of 2015) that will be at Friday night lights football camp on the 26th, that is a 6'4, 197 TE.

One of the writers for DC also states that UNT could be a surprise this year.

C-USA: Which newcomer will make the biggest impact?
trussbussdad replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
They are going to have a hard time with recruiting in the back seat of Texas, TAMU, Houston. They do not have any football facilities other than the Alamodome. Put them in a D1 schedule and they will have issues. -

OU QB Transfer Drew Allen, (6-5, 210) Alamo Heights
trussbussdad replied to Harry's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
this is what i said below. i will recant the first sentence....if he can win, lets get him on the field. i will not recant the rest of the post about getting a comfort level with our system and the team. qb is an on the field coach and is typically recruited with more scrutiny than say an offensive of defensive lineman since most schools sign only one, maybe two per year. is he enrolled and on campus and going to go thru spring drills? i personally feel that a 1 year qb is no benefit. learning the system and getting a comfort level with the team...he has to be a team leader and you do not get that respect..most of the time..in one year. -

I'm surprised SEC did not let them in because of the condition of that stadium. Between A&M and Baylor...their respective stadiums are CRAP. but i could give a rats ass cause i plan on sitting my HAPPY ASS in APOGEE every home saturday watching the MIGHTY MEAN GREEN KICK MAJOR ASS!!! I am officially taking the attitude of the team, not the fans. KICK MAJOR ASS!!!- 21 replies

UNT 90...if he had that potential, I am sure that Stoops would have used him. But...I reserve decision till we see what is on the field. -

I hate these kids get caught up in the glitz of the recruiting and get their decision blinded by the coach recruiting them. see it all the time where a stud comes out of high school and gets buried in the depth chart and goes from being in the penthouse during recruiting to trying to get run off when the real deal starts. -

1 year transfer example that could be a good thing...Zed. So ready to see his "wheels" on KO and punt return. -
