  1. GreenMachine..i will finally agree with you about the comment on the looser mentality sometimes gets into this.
  2. Rudy...I cant agree more. I apologize for even starting this post. Green Machine should have started one about how bad UNT sucks.
  3. Green Machine...Georgia is good...but last I saw we did not have to pull out the body bags everyone thought we would. Remember...Dungeons and Dragons
  4. Hats off to Tony Johnson as well. Anyone that has deeped snap will tell you that aside from QB, that is one of the toughest jobs on the team.
  5. Green Machine...Stick with Dungeons and Dragons...we hardly had our ass whipped. There are issues that need to be addressed and right now that is Coach Mac and his staffs job along with the players. It was not a win and I hate loosing as much as the next guy regardless if it is Georgia, Ohio, or a 4th grade Pop Warner team; but we need to stop our bitching on here and start focusing on filling APOGEE and GET IT LOUD for our remaining home games.
  6. UNT90...yes we lost, but think about who we just played. A team comprised of the best coaches and players money can buy, a budget that triples ours...at least, a Heisman hopeful at QB and running backs that per Andre Ware announcing our game should be in the NFL. I am concerend about a few things. Pass defense is first. Dropped passes. But, realistically, how many times do we play a GEORGIA? Saw on here that we have to play one game at a time...I agree 110%...I was just stating that some things I saw gave me hope to have a very good showing in CUSA and that this team CAN win CUSA. My perspective...MEAN GREEN took steps forward today...we certainly did not take steps back.
  7. DAWG....Being from Texas, I am used to hearing excuses like this from the Aggie fan base here in Texas. And I will ask you like I ask them... How does that happen??? How does it happen that a 9th ranked team that is supposed to score 100 pts, have a Heisman hopeful, has the best coaches and players that money can buy along with a budget that at least triples UNT...how are you not ready to play EVERY WEEK..regardless of who you play? Hats off to UGA...yall won and best wishes along the rest of the season. But, I dont think anyone there expected poor little UNT to come in and bust the Dawgs in the mouth and shut down SUPERMAN...is his name Gully, Gilly, Gilligan??? The running back that is supposed to be good enough to play in the pros right now? Instead of making excuses why it was so close...I would be asking your coach why you played the way you did? Good luck.
  8. There was some good, some bad. But this team can win CUSA!!!
  9. HARDER AND MORE OFTEN...TARGETING? Damn straight...
  10. HIT 6 MY ASS...HIT GEORGIA!!! Saw a blog that they think this will be not much than a glorified scrimmage.
  11. I know we are as of today 32.5 point underdogs. I know that the SEC is the "cream of the crop" when it comes to teams and conferences. I know that it is going to take a super human effort to beat Georgia and for us to play better than we did in the 2nd half of the Ball St game to beat the Southern Bells. I know that DT, Chancellor, ZORR and the entire team must wear a BIG S on our chest. But to say that this is going to be not much more than an inner squad scrimmage.... If I were going to pick a team for a major upset, I would pick the MEAN GREEN. HIT 6...AND HIT A DAWG RIGHT IN THE MOUTH!!!!
  12. MEAN IS BACK IN THE GREEN IN DENTON!!!
  13. One main thing I saw this week on defense ....gang tackling. Seemed there were 2-3 guys on every tackle and several more closing fast.
  14. Go Stallions...class of 78' here.
  15. In the top 75...but where do you see us ending the season at this point? My money says we end in top 40. AND YES WE GO BOWLING!!
  16. I saw a post today giving Coach Wintrich and the strenght and conditioning group props....AMEN, could not agree more. At kick off yesterday it was 92 degrees on Weather Channel...at the same time it was 68 in Muncie. You can prepare with crowd noise with large speakers and loud music...you can prepare for wet weather by practicing with wet footballs...but how do you prepare to play a game where it is going to be 20 - 30 degrees hotter than you are used to practicing in??!!
  17. Billy, Great view point....Could Oct 31 / Halloween game be the "winner take the west" game??? On paper, it is beginning to look that way. Tulsa has not shown me anything so far.
  18. Thoughts on Georgia...When you first look at this game, it appears that this will be one of those "money games" for the MEAN GREEN. But look at it closer with the glass half full. - Last nights victory over Ball St was huge confidence builder for the MEAN GREEN. - DT wore the BIG S last night. - Liked the production out of Reggie....was waiting for him to step up. - Special teams really improved yesterday. - Georgia - 1-1 with a loss to Clemsona and a win over South Carolina. They play LSU after us. I would have to think that everyone in Georgia is looking at the game against UNT as a warm up game for LSU and could look over us this week thinking LSU the week after. - IF..this is the case with Georgia looking down the road at LSU. - IF..Super Man, DT, shows up. - IF..Defense plays like they did in last nights 2nd half - IF..Offense builds on their 5.1 yds per carry rushing I know...someone spiked my beer yesterday with green koolaide...but thinking about all of the variables; a money game for UNT could end up being a TRAP game for Georgia.
  19. Richard Abbe showed up big time last night. I was very impressed with his play with two knock downs and good pressure on the qb.
  20. DT wore the BIG S on his uniform tonight. Very impressed with his poise and grit after his injury. I thought Coach Canales had a great game plan as well. Really liked coming out with the high percentage passes. Took a while but the running game looked solid...especially in the 2nd half. Was really glad to see Reggie have a good game. Think there is some mileage in that horse. I thought this was one of those must win games. Georgia will be tough and everyone traveling to Georgia will have the wear the BIG S and then some to beat Georgia...But regardless, I like what I saw tonight against a good Ball St team and beginning to think that this MEAN GREEN team looks like a bowl team and a team that could be in the top of the food chain in CUSA.
  21. Where were all the students? I know some came over to the shade, but it appeared there was a mass exodous sometime in the 2nd half. The noise was great the last Ball possession.
  22. Drank the green koolaide this morning...... Today smells like....VICTORY. MEAN IN THE GREEN
  23. This game was plagued by ugly football. If it were not for some sloppy play and penalties by Ohio, the score could have been MUCH worse. My summation: - O line supposed to be our strength.... 1 - 2.7 yards per carry...pitiful 2 - two penalties on #64 3 - #71 is supposed to be a pro prospect...saw many plays where his man ran right by him. 4 - Ohio D line was able to get off their blocks so easy, our O line did not stay engaged and finish blocks 5 - DT did not have the time to pass that he has in the past - DT play 1 - was not as sharp / accurate with his passes as he was last week...several balls were behind, over the head or over thrown 2 - pressed the ball into bad coverages - skills 1 - I thought Pegram was supposed to be a power back....... 2 - if the ball is within arms length, it should be a catch Play calling 1 - even the hack announcers on ESPN3 commented on not throwing the ball on 1st down 2 - on 3rd and 5-8 yds, instead of trying to get enough for the first, we go for a "homerun" ball. use an intermediate pass long enough to get the first down. 3 - with less than two minutes left in the game and we are backed up to our around our 10, Ohio in prevent rushing 3, we run a screen pass??? Defense: D line: 1 - Our D line was driven so far back, it cut off pursuit of our LBrs....and they did not get off of blocks 2 - we could not pressure Ohio qb with our front 4...had to blitz to get pressure. 3 - #90 was on "skates" all night 4 - Sarge...did injuries keep him off the field? When he was in, he was very effective. LBrs: 1 - could not evaluate because the Dline was being driven back into their cut off lanes 2 - ZORR...missed tackles, bad fills DBs: 1 - dropped 2 pic opportunities right in their hands 2 - terrible cut off angles...ALL NIGHT WE HAVE TO STOP GIVING UP SO MANY BIG PLAYS!!! If i were any team, I go deep against our secondary on the first play every game....they seem to be sleeping and get a late wake up call that the game started. Coaching: 1 - not aggresive in play calling like we were last week...very few blitz's. Did not see any corner blitz (refer to last year LSU game when our CB knocked out the LSU qb 2 - with just over 2 minutes left in the game, we have 3 timeouts and we allowed the clock to run off without calling a timeout. I know this Ohio team is much better than last weeks Idaho team...but our fundamentals sucked...blocking, tackling, running and passing and UNT were two different teams from last weeks fundamentals to this week. This was a game that we could have, should have won. Now the Ball state game becomes a must win game. Before the season started, I hoped for 3-1 non conference schedule...looking at a likely 2-2. We cannot go 1-3 in non conf. and with Ball St coming into town 2-0...we have to over achieve this week. This team needs consistency, persistency, intensity.
  24. UNT 28 O 14 DT continues his roll...Chancellor and Byrd combine for over 300 yds offense (Chancellor has big day against) and ZORR is too much for the Cat offense. Too much MEAN IN THE GREEN for the cats
  25. UNT90...they were definetly playing our run game initially. You could tell by our 4.2 yard avg rush and DTs performance. DT did force them to loosen up.
