size does not scare me on a qb as much if he had a better 40 time (4.95 is not fast these days) and his throwing motion does not look right....looks like he "short" arms.

One of the best D linemen I have seen out of high school. Had a solid performance in the UA allstar game his sr year.

H-towngreen....I too and YES and NO on Sims. Yes in that he was one of the most sought after RB's in Texas in a pretty tough district. I actually visited with him briefly when he and Connor were on a visit at the same time. Very polite and mannerly kid...very humble too. Then I say NO to what I always say about a transfer...they are transfering and leaving a team for a reason....character, grades or not making the depth chart. With the kind of "tough love" from DMAC, this kid could be an immediate impact at UNT...BIG IMPACT. Another possibility that intrigues me is an ex team mate of Connors that came out of spring drills at TCU as starting LB...Deryk Gildon. He failed an alg or calc class. THIS KID IS A STUD!!! Current plans are to attend TCC and then go back to TCU...but who knows how that will all work out.

I will be partial to Connor "the BUS" Trussell. Will be fun season....cant wait

I have made statements regarding transfers and why they are transfering.............................................

JUCO - if you live by JUCO, you will die by the JUCO....reasoning: - it is a quick fix and only for two years - MOST of these kids are at a JUCO for a reson...did not have the grades as they came out of high school; did not have a good highlight tape (not enough playing time in hs); or they are a re-tread...went off to school out of hs, could not make the grades or depth chart, went to a JUCO and now coming back out and now at their 3rd stop. When a team builds itself with more than 6-8 JUCO kids, the program is in a tail spin

I know it is fun to watch some of these transfers and hope for them to become a part of the MEAN GREEN....just remember, MOST of these kids and I emphasize MOST...NOT ALL are transfering for a reason whether it be character, grades or over ranked coming out of high school all of which are keys to Coach Mac's expectations. Otherwise they would stay in the program that they are leaving.

UTSA and Texas State will battle for recruits that Texas and TAMU dont take. Besides, one of the big turn offs when my son was being recruited was they have not even broke ground on facilities. They currently use a high school to practice. Yes, they have great plans, but they are only plans. Tulsa and Arkansas St will be hurt in recuiting here in DFW with us moving to CUSA along with the new facilities. Tulsa lives in DFW during recruiting season.

These rankings along with all the other preseason rankings are great to look at and discuss in this type of forum....But never have they won a game. Just to tell you how much these guys know that put together this type of stuff; like Trice mentioned above, where is Mason Yarbo?

Yes...great kid and family. He and my son are going to room together and we have got to know he and his family at spring game and at their official visit at the same time.

I agree that a rivalry will happen naturally. I see an I-35 rivalry between us and UTSA. We will recruit many of the same players. I think DMAC puts down a line in the sand at Temple.

In 1977 - 78 I went to North Mesquite and played against Herkie Walls from Garland. He was a qb and went on to play at Texas. Ran the option to perfection. It was amazing to see him run...I had a good vantage point on the field...far behind him.

Being new to UNT with my son just signing 2/1, seems to be alot of excitement around UNT FOOTBALL with Coach Mac. A great start to next season is the spring game 4/21. I know it is currently scheduled at 2 pm. Many schools use this as a huge recruiting tool for the next class. How GREAT would it be if APOGEE was packed out for the spring game???!!! Recruits could see how the GREEN NATION rocks. I know many of us football junkies will be in major football withdrawals by then.
