Hoss, you are a man. I was just in Amarillo last year and chickened out. Massive steak + baked potato + salad = greatness. Luckily it won't be 103 at our game. Hopefully there is no ice storm. You'll like going out in downtown Dallas more than Arlington. There are some fun bars to hang out in for New Years. The Cotton Bowl isn't in the nicest area but you can take a train straight in. Congratulations on making a bowl. We're equally excited! And seriously, congratulations on finishing that steak. Very impressive.

An indoor facility will be a bigger asset during the off season, obviously inclement weather, walk throughs, rehab, and recruiting because it looks good. If we are getting baseball, then build a great baseball stadium first. My two cents anyway.

"More viewers mean more money and more t-shirt fans means more merchandise sales." This would be true, for my favorite NFL team. They'd get my money and time. If they split leagues then I am a season ticket holder at Jerry World and my Saturdays are eternally free. My girls enjoy UNT Soccer and Basketball more anyway because we can sit so close. College football politics are making me dislike it as an entity. I'll always love our team but I don't want to see us go through the 80s and early 90s again. I just couldn't stomach it.

That is an assumption that is based on them caring about schools like ours. Why in the heck would they care about shutting down our program? Because we steal their recruits? No. Because we cut into their piggy bank? No. Because we take their coaches? No. Because we are a threat to their spot at the top of the hill? No. Hell, they even pay us to kick the crap out of us. They aren't trying nor wanting to shut our program down. They may get their own league again which would relegate us to the D1AA equivalent. Which would make me stop watching college football ever again. Seriously, I would stop watching college football for good.

True. We do play them. All these rumors are great for Saban's contract negotiations at Alabama. I'm just sick of hearing about Saban and Texas on TV. Especially when I'm on the treadmill at the gym.

My favorite moment has to be split. First, winning the conference championship in 1994 and it was the last time my dad saw me play. Second, beating Texas Tech in 1997 in Lubbock after several friends who went to TT talked a lot before the game. My favorite UNT moment outside of football had to be during the Fry Street Fair one of those years but I can't really remember what it was.

I seem to remember a couple of weeks ago their smug little Vegas writers looked down at UNT. Daft writer wrote Denton is in the middle of nowhere and was a little school. Geography and mathematics must not be a big deal out there. Good enough reason for me to dislike them.

I don't care who we play as long as we don't play like we came off a bye week.

Take anyone out of a big 5 conference and life gets tougher. It's a hypothetical that isn't going to happen. The aforementioned schools will continue to flourish. They aren't going anywhere. I just watched one of them down the wealthiest program in college football too. As for SMU they may never be anywhere close to where they use to be. I'm not sure being private has a ton to do with it. Look how bad we've struggled since we made it back to D1 after being relegated to 1AA. I think it's a better example that proves just how hard it is the claw your way out of a hole. Let's just hope our team isn't a one hit wonder this year.

Baylor, Boston College, BYU, USC, Stanford, TCU, Notre Dame, Rice, Miami, Duke, Vanderbilt off of the top my head don't seem to have problems being private schools. SMU has built their program out of a bigger mess than any team ever. So they didn't go to a bowl this year. They did last year. They will survive and give us tough games in the coming years. I personally like us playing them and hopefully beating them often. (I am not on their bandwagon either. They are bummed out and venting and people here are over analyzing their being upset.)

No. I do have that nightmare every once in a while though. Graduated in1999. Saw a really bad accident earlier. The temperatures won't allow much melting between now and then. However, if I had a final I would say it's far too dangerous as well.

I feel their pain. It's a terrible feeling.

Their passing game has had problems so it's a good match for our D.
