Yes sir. I played for all four of Simon's years. (94, 95, 96, & 97) 94 was a very good group of players. Two a Days ran off a lot of players. The people left were guys who wanted to play football and win. I was too young and stupid to realize Simon was trying to make people quit. He called it Camp Sparta. We stayed in West Hall and so many people quit and left a in the middle of the night the coaches left a box to leave your keys in at the front desk. We called it the Midnight Train. A camp like that would be illegal now. It was misery. But damn could that team play. We almost took down Oklahoma State and should have beaten Boise State who went on to lose in the National Championship game. Very fun and memorable season. Letterman's Association is a good idea to contact. I can't believe it's been 20 years.

I've got a question or perhaps just a request. I know it's been a long time but there was a reunion of the 1994 football team around the turn of the century. I was wondering if anyone knows if there will be a 20 year reunion coming this upcoming season. The significance, other than it being 20 years, is it was a conference championship team but arguably more important it was the team that got us back into Division 1 football. If anyone hears anything about another reunion can you please post it here because some people weren't tracked down last time and I know some guys missed out that would have loved to seen everybody last time. Not just players either. I can promise y'all coaches, equipment managers, trainers, Athletic Department staff, fans, ect where a huge part of that team. It was a really special group of people and I would love to see people from that year. I saw some at the HOD Bowl and it was great. Some of the old timers who follow UNT football would agree it was a great group of folks and a damn good team. Hopefully this is a good off season post!

I take it you don't recall TT going into the top 5 in the BCS standings and finishing in a 3 way tie for the conference with Leach? He fell short that year but did a great job at Tech. The sky was the limit until baby James & Daddy struck. But hey, it's the internet, you can change facts and call names if you want.

Off Season Discussion: Greatest Memory of the 2013-14 Season?
UNTexas replied to UNTLifer's topic in Mean Green Football
I think almost everyone is forgetting the relief of winning the Idaho game. I know I was happy. Starting with a win for once was great. But the sixth win and bowl win were the best parts of this season. On the flip side watching the team give away the west to a very mediocre UTSA was the worst. We played terrible after both bye weeks. I wanted our 26th the conference title!!! -
Blah blah blah. Isn't our dance card full already?

UNT football "in" and SMU "out" for 2014 -- #27
UNTexas replied to STE's topic in Mean Green Football
Factually incorrect. They said Frisco is out and Plano is in because of Eatzis and Lockhart? Rubbish! Frisco just landed the Cowboys with a deal for training camp too. Cowboys HQ, Stars HQ, FC Dallas, Rough Riders, Nuff said... Ridiculous evaluation. -
I'm friends with some SMU alumni. Good people. There are douches at UNT as well. Everywhere for that matter. I'd be thrilled if my girls went to SMU, TCU, UNT, Texas, ect. Just not A&M. Please. No A&M. But I'd rather them never grow up and live at home forever too.

NCAA Proposal Would Put Power In Hands of P5 Conferences

Funny thing is, teams in every sport from the aforementioned conferences take teams from the P5 conferences behind the woodshed regularly. -
NCAA Proposal Would Put Power In Hands of P5 Conferences
UNTexas replied to PlummMeanGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
I have zero problem with universities making a commitment to ensure players earn a degree. Most people think these players get scholarships until they graduate. They don't. Nor does everyone get summer school paid for if they choose to attend. I would like to front load that I am not complaining however, my scholarship disappeared the May after my last year of eligibility and they never paid for Summer school because I had good grades. Maybe it's changed but I don't know. Additionally, if a kid gets hurt. Let him go to school and get his degree without costing the team a scholarship. Or if a guy leaves for whatever reason after his eligibility, let him finish. These schools make a lot of money off them. Student Athletes are there for a degree. I applaud the idea to ensure they get degrees. -
I think he's overestimating his skills. He could probably get a scholarship somewhere but he's barking up the wrong tree at OU. They have a QB. Several actually. I hope he enjoys being irrelevant on the scout team after burning some eligibility while paying out of state tuition.

UTSA Board: "UNT thinks they can beat the Sith Empire"
UNTexas replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
You realize that game was on the business end of 30 years ago? It's time to move on. Don't embarrass yourself with a sign saying you are a sore loser from a game last century. It's time to move forward.- 40 replies

All I know is if it helps us out, I'm happy they shot their own feet and hurt their program. -

Wise words, however, I think the two trolls you mentioned didn't leave on their own. I think they were banished to troll elsewhere.

Buffalo Wild Wings in Frisco would probably do it. There is a lot of competition around there.

Who will be the 2014 North Texas starting QB ?
UNTexas replied to NT03's topic in Mean Green Football
I said Dajon however Greer is an unknown so after Spring ball my answer may change. Speaking of Spring ball when does it start? I miss football already. -
I would bet Todd Dodge enjoyed watching the bowl win
UNTexas replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't Dodge a position coach under Parker? I think Steve Kragthorpe replaced him when Simon was hired. I could be wrong but he had some college experience. If it wasn't lack of experience then his philosophy was fundamentally flawed. Dodge had moments but tried to run a Division 1 program like a High School. He left the team in shambles but helped us get a great stadium. No matter what I think we have a damn good head coach now along with great coordinators and position coaches. -
Who cares if fans rushed the field? If you noticed most of the DPD guys didn't bother trying to stop it. I only saw a fat out of shape cop try. Try is the key word because he didn't haul anyone off. I enjoyed watching him run around though. They knew it was a good hearted no harm no foul gesture. It wasn't an angry riotous mob.

I had to laugh when Cougar King went on and typed UNLV sucks. He equally hates everyone and has way too much time on his hands because he's on every board.

My wife just asked if she can carry her purse or is it like AT&T Stadium and can only carry the see through kind or no bags? Anyone know?

Damn right!
