  1. El Paso is easy to ridicule because it's a ridiculous city. I am from EP and it's a great place to have in your rear view. That's precisely why they have so many fans in the DFW area. It suffers a massive brain drain because the educated people get out. (yes I get there are a few good jobs there) Super friendly? That's laughable at best. Try living there. Day to day life teaches you how bad the average Joe in El Chuco sucks. Try grocery shopping and you'll want to fight someone. People going to the game should have fun. The Mexican food is good and there will be beer everywhere. Two days anywhere can be fun, especially when we should destroy them in football.
  2. I have to agree. It's time to let him go.
  3. Great for Texas and for us during our first game in Austin next season. I hope UNT doesn't continue to make excuses as to how hard it is to obtain beer for our sporting events. Nor do I want to hear they are considering the issue. I don't want to hear about the perils of navigating the bureaucracy of the TABC, politics, or how sales should discriminate against certain parts of the stadium. People in DFW expect beer, I agree with them too, and not just on the Club Level. It's not merely a football issue either. We need butts in seats in a competitive market in every sport. Whatever your opinion on the issue is, I didn't hear a peep about beer in the Cotton Bowl ruining the HOD Bowl gameday experience. There were a lot of excited Mean Green fans partaking too. We aren't facing an impending Cleveland "Ten Cent Beer Night" in Denton, Texas either. The University needs to get this done.
  4. Transfers can be on scholarship the day they transfer. I know several players who did. The recieving team can't contact them while they are actively playing somewhere else. Once they are released they can offer them. The poaching is stopped that way.
  5. Clay was a Defensive Lineman and became a GA after his eligibility was up. He's a good guy.
  6. I'm going to go with Brock Berglund.
  7. Good pick up.
  8. You forgot "in the snow"...
  9. I'm no basketball expert but this coach destroyed a good team. He needs to be fired immediately.
  10. Is it an undersized ball that wasn't put together well?
  11. Any word on stadium beer for the masses?
  12. I saw the UTSA cheerleaders. That was enough to tell me everything I needed to know about that school. Truly sad display. Screw y'alls stats, I have my own metric.
  13. No one can. No one should. They are stupid.
  14. A KFC t-shirt would be far more appropriate.
  15. Remember the "Jump to Conclusion" game from the movie Office Space? This idea easily tops that as the worst idea ever.
  16. I must say anyone who turns down SMU for UTSA doesn't value their education or future past football. Moronic. I'm not saying SMU is the best school ever but good lord I would have made that decision for my kid.
  17. In October for Breast Cancer awareness? Sure.
  18. Does playing an FCS team count as a win towards bowl eligibility? If it doesn't why would we waste our time with them? Either way I'm happy not to play FCS teams.
  19. I hope those September games aren't during the day. Total misery.
  20. It sounds to me he's going to SMU. Smart kid. I'd take SMU over Houston just off the fun factor. SMU is surrounded by really fun stuff, UH isn't from what I recall. Now if it was between Rice and SMU, then there's a debate off location alone. However, North Texas trumps all three on the fun meter in my experience anyway.
  21. I hope you are right. That was fun. UNLV's fans traveled terrible. If we had gotten any of the previous HOD teams the attendance record would have been crushed for the HOD bowl game.
  22. Not even close. When I lived in El Paso we use to go to Albuquerque to get away to civilization. There is fun to be had there. If we played a bowl there you could make the game coincide with a ski trip up to Taos or Angel Fire. It would be greatness.
  23. Come to think of it Oregon State in 95 was the same situation you describe. We won too. Huge win that year because it was such a beat down season.
  24. I only recall one time a good number of people were in the metal seats. Montana State. They came to Fouts as the #1 or #2 1aa team. Both end zones had some people in them but all would have fit in the main structure of seating. Maybe there were other games this occurred at after I was relegated to no man's land by the G for a decade before I returned to the metroplex. I didn't catch many games until ESPN3 allowed it. The facilities have come a very long way... It's hard to think how bad they were.
