  1. We need to win. Our basketball team sucks now. Our football team had one good season and I really hope we keep winning going forward. Baseball is on the way which is great. If every team performed as well as our Soccer team we'd have no worries, however, that's hardly the case. We need to win in our conference before we worry about others. For those still worried about how we measure up against an AAC opponent, we play SMU game two at home...
  2. I think the earth goes through heating and cooling periods. Considering scientists have been collecting data for a hundred years or so and the earth is 4.6 billion years old, I am guessing we need a larger data sample to start pointing fingers as to what is going on. It was a cold winter and I am guessing the Summer is going to be hot.
  3. The bottom line on this is easy with regards to the average player. Football players are not allowed to work. Room and board is covered but without mom and dad helping out a player can't even buy a movie ticket or have money to go out on a date. Then they tell guys to apply for grants. Laughable at best. The NCAA by its own policies ensures players will violate the rules. Scholarships are awesome. I'm not saying they deserve gobs of money but enough get by isn't asking a lot. Additionally, Manziel is a good example for the elite players. The NCAA made money off his name, A&M made money off his name, however, Johnny Football can't make money off his own name? Totally ridiculous. Regardless on your opinion of the kid, it's pathetic. College football is big business and there are a lot of fat cats getting rich off it. I have zero problem with anyone getting paid for being marketable. If Nike wants to pay the Heisman winner for being in a commercial then so be it.
  4. I'm going to be a fan boy of whoever Mac goes with.
  5. Isn't Southern Miss rather lowly in football? Whatever, that hurts perception worse than basketball.
  6. I think he was referring to the Nichols State game?
  7. UTSA isn't even close to the best team our team plays. I think the biggest dog fight for us is SMU. I am going to be hated by my wife next year either way. I will be attending the home games as well as UTSA, UTEP, Rice and wherever we play in a bowl game. Yes, I said it. Not a jinx either.
  8. See, the interlocking NT looks good!
  9. How about selling out our stadium in Denton while winning in the process and worry about silly titles after a string of great seasons?
  10. Eventually, yes. However, he'll be there next season.
  11. Bedford needs to be fired. I'm sure he's a great guy but he isn't getting the job done.
  12. I agree completely. No bs aside, you never know what can happen in a ball game. Strong can preach until he's blue in the face about beating us, however, if our guys decide they aren't demigods, the sky is the limit.
  13. I'd like to do better than 6...
  14. Remember the angry Ball St fan from YouTube who posted the targeting video. Hilarious...
  15. Ridiculous! The Cowboys, or any NFL team, would beat UT 200 to 0.
  16. The Diablos support was so sad in the end. The city let Cohen Stadium fall apart. Especially after the wind damage a couple years back. It was awful to attend.
  17. That would be awful. You'd have to be with large numbers of townies and possibly catch a stray round from J town. They never supported the Diablos. This will wear off quickly. Oh, and I wouldn't feed my dog that garbage from Chico's Tacos. Total crap.
  18. I guess you've not really kept up with their football program. Winning seasons don't happen often. My youth was wasted as a season ticket holder watching them lose. They were good in basketball though. Back when Haskins was the coach. It was fun to watch.
  19. I know people who said the same thing you just did but for the football game last year. They were dead wrong. UTEP attendance wasn't impressive in the least. Our basketball team the last two seasons is as bad as your football team. Fans are fickle...
  20. El Paso is easy to ridicule because it's a ridiculous city. I am from EP and it's a great place to have in your rear view. That's precisely why they have so many fans in the DFW area. It suffers a massive brain drain because the educated people get out. (yes I get there are a few good jobs there) Super friendly? That's laughable at best. Try living there. Day to day life teaches you how bad the average Joe in El Chuco sucks. Try grocery shopping and you'll want to fight someone. People going to the game should have fun. The Mexican food is good and there will be beer everywhere. Two days anywhere can be fun, especially when we should destroy them in football.
  21. I have to agree. It's time to let him go.
  22. Great for Texas and for us during our first game in Austin next season. I hope UNT doesn't continue to make excuses as to how hard it is to obtain beer for our sporting events. Nor do I want to hear they are considering the issue. I don't want to hear about the perils of navigating the bureaucracy of the TABC, politics, or how sales should discriminate against certain parts of the stadium. People in DFW expect beer, I agree with them too, and not just on the Club Level. It's not merely a football issue either. We need butts in seats in a competitive market in every sport. Whatever your opinion on the issue is, I didn't hear a peep about beer in the Cotton Bowl ruining the HOD Bowl gameday experience. There were a lot of excited Mean Green fans partaking too. We aren't facing an impending Cleveland "Ten Cent Beer Night" in Denton, Texas either. The University needs to get this done.
