  1. Charles was correct.
  2. I do believe the players should get at least a few hundred dollars a month while school is in session for spending money because the NCAA says they cannot work. Room and board is awesome but you don't have money to go on a date, money for a movie, or a trip to McDonald's. I was fortunate money wasn't an issue. There were players that literally had zero in the bank when I played. I don't think they deserve huge payouts and for the very select few who could benefit on their likeness, that's another discussion. I doubt the lawsuits are about a little change in your pocket though. On a side note, most people probably don't know you could opt to get a monthly check instead of room and board. At least you could in the 90s. I received $415 a month since I didn't live in the dorms. I wasn't allowed to have a job either. Mind you there were players with kids. They should allow these guys to work at night or at least offer spending money. However, like I said, these lawsuits aren't about spending money to buy a pizza.
  3. That's kind of random to run into him. Is he going to play for the good guys?
  4. The thing that scares me about the intensity of their camp is they'll be looking for a fight by their first game. Plus, they'll feel like they have something to prove.
  5. Interesting article. Sorry if it's already posted. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/texas-quarterback-miles-onyegbule-goes-down-with-knee-injury-233257613.html
  6. I guess you haven't been paying attention to college football much these last few years. At least the NFL is overt. They are paid professionals. College hypocrisy is a joke now.
  7. This is going to make everything interesting.
  8. They are talking about him already.
  9. It's actually very true. The bowls need to lose their non-profit status.
  10. It doesn't mean they won't change it in the future. Hell, they'll do whatever they want now. They'll make offers players can't refuse. I hope they eliminate us playing them altogether since they want it that way. Cancel every future game on our schedule with them. The pricks are even looking down their noses at the service academies. Screw them. Make it totally and completely separate.
  11. I'm watching the Cowboys Chargers right now. Since College ball is bleeding out as we speak, the NFL is greatness. Longer seasons too.
  12. When we are relegated to 1AA 2.0 I am completely done with college football forever. All my attention will go to the NFL to fill my football fix. Sucks.
  13. Nice to see an honest man in college football. Good article.
  14. I'm more concerned about the fact that we lost so many starters. I hope our guys can fill their shoes.
  15. He's going to stroke the egos of the QBs all day long until they name a starter.
  16. Any idea why Simon was fired? Every story I heard was BS.
  17. I don't really care what excuses the university has on availability of gear. It's pretty pathetic and always has been.
  18. Holy crap they're losing almost their entire team after this season. That's all I took away from that article. That and Cougar King is back. Mom, Meatloaf! Where have you been ole chap?
  19. Great pick up. We obviously wanted him before too. Being that young and 3rd string at K-State isn't a bad thing. He's probably learned a lot.
  20. Why don't you bite your tongue and play in traffic? I love me some Cowboys! All kidding aside I read the other day once Jerry is done with his Frisco facilities Oxnard will probably be in the rear view. It must be a hassle logistically as well as a distraction to go out there for training camp.
  21. I haven't been to the Alamo Dome but I do know it's not new. How does it stack up to newer NFL stadiums? (I know it's no Jerry World but few are. Jerry World will be old some day too.)
  22. I'm cool with them moving as long as the SA fans don't dress up like Gwar and misbehave as Raiders fans currently do. SA would support a pro football team just fine. I'm sure they'd love lower taxes we enjoy here in Texas. As far as UTSA saying they should be part of the process, ridiculous. Laughable at best. It's about money. The Raiders don't care about UTSA. The Raiders' owner has probably never even heard of them. If I owned the team and wanted to move it some local school wouldn't even enter the equation. Good for SA!
  23. I know. I need to get season tickets. I've got two girls who always have games of their own. I do the juggling act...
  24. I'm one of the jerky that goes to every game but doesn't have season tickets. I'll be there y'all. (Sometimes I bring many, sometimes just myself)
