Why would it? Players care about getting their job done so they can start or get playing time, not where other players came from. No one on that team gives a damn where a dude came from going into camp. He's just their competition for the job.

Baylor's looks really nice and I like the way the river runs right next to it. SMU's looks nice and it near fun areas. I look forward to going to our opener there. UTEP is deceptive. Yes, its in the edge of the Franklin Mountains. However, the view is garbage because you stare at the worst part of Juarez. As for the stadium, it's old, run down, and contains Miner fans. I checked out TCU's recently and I liked it. It's not super special but I like the way it ties into the campus. I like Apogee because it's unique, nice lay out, and nice. The energy efficiency, wind power, and water efficiency are awesome. I still haven't seen Houston yet. Finally, I have to say a lot of the big boys have giant stadiums that are kinda blah. We are very lucky to have Apogee.

UTEP because I hate that school and I'd like to finish strong going into our bowl game.

If it's about TV markets, and we know it's a big factor, then outside Texas is a big deal. The Big 12 already has the Texas market locked up. Houston is a descent choice but if I'm looking to expand the brand and have a bigger footprint, then I look out the Red & Rio Grande. That's just me.

Good points and it sounds familiar but I can't wait to get that first game in the rear view so I don't have to hear anymore about SMU or their new coach.

I don't know about all the marketing banter but there are two things that stick out to me. 1. If UNT would win, then people would come watch them play. If TCU had our record, they'd have attendance problems. Especially if they were still in CUSA. 2. Joe T Garcia's was sold to me as the greatest fajitas of all time. Total rubbish. I could have gone to Hacienda Ranch 30 seconds from my house for better fajitas. Their standard Mexican food was not good either but I'm from El Paso.

They don't understand bonfires? Hell, my high school had them too.

I didn't know A&M still did a bonfire after the collapse killed all those poeple.

They didn't want Mac to throw it out. They were afraid it would be intercepted. But damn, I didn't know it was UNT night. I would have gone.

We have a good soccer program! Sadly, our football and basketball are pure sadness.

Try being on the field for that Junior High nonsense. We got a couple plays off before their defense crushed it. The entire sideline was embarrassed by the Busch League nonsense. The crowd even laughed. There was no success and he was never daft enough to run it again. We all laughed about how embarrassing it was the entire trip home.

And it failed everytime. It was very embarrassing at LSU. Simon lost it mentally quickly after the 94 season. He once called a team meeting for only black players. Bizarre. I voted Dickey because of his bowl games. He shouldn't have been fired either.

SMU for sure. LA Tech if we aren't embarrassing ourselves. I don't want to find myself in the situation I did last year. I flew out to El Paso, got a hotel, drank and ate a lot, and watched UNT embarrass themselves in every phase of the game while I dealt with classless El Pasoans all around me. (Seriously, the UTEP game may have been the worst I've seen this program and that is saying something. The players didn't even seem to care either.) Once UNT decides to stop doing it's best rendition of the old school Bucs then I spend more money travelling to see them play.

It's probably because we have seasons like this upcoming year where we have 5 home games and we get powerhouses like Portland State to come up here.

The bottom line is the AD is awful at setting up games. That is all.

Sadly, #hit4 seems to be realistic with the status of the program. I'd love to win 6 though. The team isn't discussing nonsense like hit 6. Fans are. Players could care less about slogans.

I'm really not. Obsessed would be me going around to places like, I don't know, maybe fan sites and telling everyone that someday in the future my wee wee was going to be bigger than everyone elses. That could display traits of obsession. Ya'll are just our first game. Idaho State had way more discussion leading up to that opening game but the difference was they had really cool fans who were interested in football talk and Texas bbq. Either way, let's face it. You guys are fighting for the same scraps left behind by Texas, A&M, Baylor, TCU, Tech, OU, and so on. As I said before, I wish him luck. Unlike most here I am indifferent towards SMU. It's another game and thankfully it's right down the street from my house. I hope you understand it's a pillow fight too as both teams probably suck again. I do have a question, whats up with the HCCM? Do you refer to the man in the White House as POTUSBO?

11. Horrible Start at SMU He lost his first three games straight as head coach in his inaugural season at SMU and had a brilliant career while subsequently never defeating North Texas. (One can dream? I do wish him luck as he's a Texan but I hope he never beats us.)
