This is exactly my prediction. I'd love it if it happenstill and even more if we went to the HOD bowl again.

UNT brought way better teams to town in the past. Even at cappy Fouts we have hosted Oregon State, Navy, Kansas State, Texas Tech, ect. Because of that garbage stadium we played games at Texas Stadium to get teams to come here. Playing Texas A&M, Kansas, or Tech at a stadium in Irving is much better for the program than Portland State, Liberty, Lamar, Abilene Christian, or McNeese State at Apogee. I think RV has done us proud in a ton of ways but scheduling quality opponents at home has been a complete failure under his watch. We were told Apogee would see better opponents. Army and SMU are awesome teams for us but the rest are an embarrassment for an FBS school looking to change it's lot in life. I expect more. Most of this board, students, and fans expect more.

Sack N Save/I-35 Construction Update 8.14.15
UNTexas replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
My gameday plan of attack is always DNT, 380, 7-11 to ice the cooler, stop at Igloo, then the stadium for tailgating. Simple plans work for me. I don't need no stinkin 35. -
To be fair and life like shouldn't there be a caption stating "You know I don't schedule cool teams at home."? Or "I bodybag!"

MGB Thursday notes: QB depth chart, Wisconsin thoughts
UNTexas replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
I like this post. Funny. -
Texas Tech, Vanderbilt, Houston, USF, UCF, Kansas, or Kansas State.

Boise State isn't exactly the lightning rod it was a few years ago. I'd rather see us get P5 Texas Tech type teams on the schedule.

I love the optimism but they need to put their money where their mouth are.

http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/08/11/rb-duke-catalon-decides-to-leave-texas-too/ They seem to think U of Houston. I'm always suspicious when a player transfers because of his place on a depth chart. Seniors or Juniors backing up a great player I get, but freshman I don't. That being said, I wish Mac could grab him because he may have just been unhappy with that team.

Smith or Means better get a chance.

These videos every team is putting out reminds me of Stuart Smalley's Daily Affirmation.

They should suspend him for the game against us.

I believe Florida won a National Championship in 2008 and he was coaching there. Unless you were being sarcastic then you got me. Does he mention it a lot?

MGB: UNT source confirms Trey Keenan has transferred to UNT
UNTexas replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
He'll have a year to work out. -
I have to disagree. UNT is much easier on the eyes. Especially in the Spring when shorts and dresses come out. I'm not into buildings or trees. Additionally, Texas State has the river running through it with bikinis. I never even saw a building or vegetation, just bikinis on agua.

Its ridiculous he hasn't been considered. In my estimation with the ridiculous world today, attach a sad sports story that gets attention and he'll get the nod. It's political. Look at Joe Greene. It took him until 87 and u til recently Pittsburgh's Hall of Fame which is absolute nonsense. Maybe he'd have some insight how to start campaigning?

Five most important things we learned about SMU this week
UNTexas replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
The coach can be young and enthusiastic all day long and it's meaningless if the players aren't up to the task. (Matt Simon era was this way for us and he came in kicking ass. Same with Dodge minus kicking ass.) They'll be nice and fired up going into their first game, and then get annihilated by a team with hopes of a National Championship shot via the playoffs. Baylor needs to beat them with an exclamation point. They'll be banged up from their drubbing by Baylor too. I don't wish them ill will but it's football. I hope they are beat up physically and beat down mentally. And trust me, their team will notice when we have more fans in their stadium and it will suck for them. Our team needs to jump on them early, just like last year. We have to start 1-0. -
MGB breaking news -- Florida linebacker enrolls at UNT
UNTexas replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Can he play quarterback?! -
IF is the giant word. I think we are more likely to get a home and home with Portland State because our scheduling is so bad.

SMU Fans claim wins happen year after losses to UNT historically
UNTexas replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
My favorite golfers are Shooter McGavin from Happy Gilmore because he's awesome & David Simms from Tin Cup because he hates old people, children, and dogs. Plus, he's awesome. -
Vito's article lists he and McNulty as seniors. Wasn't he a Juco transfer?
-
Let's look on the bright side: 1. It's going to change some by September. 2. The two players that caused me so much sadness last year are both seniors and I'm sure they have bright futures after football. 3. At least football is almost back!
