If you mean D Smith, which would be wise, then zero.
-
Sorry, you are absolutely misinformed. I was on the team that got us back to D1 and was there for the NCAA briefing in 94 as to what was going on & what our goals were. The university decided to make the commitment to go to D1. There were details like seating, average attendance, funding and scholarships but the NCAA had zero to do with the decision to go D1. The NCAA set the standard for D1 status and the rest was history after a lot of people worked their asses off behind the scenes that the misinformed general university populous never saw. You are the first person I've ever heard make the claim we were threatened with being relegated to D2. Where did you hear this? Neither do I or anyone I know. +1 I'd also add Hurley was a good man and I had a great deal of respect for him. He lived an enviable life. He didn't set us back 20 years back in my opinion.

Everyone reminisce on your hometowns here

Lots of beer, scorching desert heat, barren wasteland, unmentionable girls, treeless, missing green, middle of nowhere, yearning to move, but El Paso made up for it by providing nothing to do. It made me really really appreciate going away to college in Denton and where I'm at now. -

Me dumb for reading. -
We actually already have a triple option: middle run, interception/incomplete, or fumble.

2015 UNT PREVIEW, WRITTEN BY A BORED HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT

I literally dumber for reading this. -
I honestly don't know if we win a single game.

I say we clean house because clearing a house is tactical term and I think skull dragging them out at gun point is a bit much. On the othere hand, that would be fine by some of the more hard core militant ones on this forum.

August 1994 the day I reported to my first two a days. It was brutal. So many players quit in the middle of that camp we called it "The Midnight Train" because you could here them leaving in the middle of the night. They even put a basket for their keys next to the front door at West Hall. I was hooked through thick and thin ever since.

I think you are being conservative because of UNT's apparent generosity in giving to ball to the opponent. -
I made the mistake of traveling to some away games last year and lost faith at UTEP. I won't be buying plane tickets and hotels rooms for away games until we significantly improve.

It would be nice. If he left and RV were removed then a fresh start could happen. It's my understanding that the players are fed up with Mac and if it's true then it won't get better. Who can blame them? He's kind of crapped on them publicly several times. (They are small & weak. Or its too hard to recruit here. Translation: my players suck because I can't get the ones I want.)

56-10 not us. Sorry, we are outmatched in every aspect of the game. -
http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/report--big-ten-includes-army--byu--notre-dame--cincy--uconn-as-power-5-opponents-155924727.html I'm not sure I agree but whatever...

Get your popcorn ready.

We could hire Chip Kelley. He'll be on the market soon.

WWhat material do they use against, say Texas?
-
I agree it wasn't a knock out blow but if we kept our D off the field and potentially scored the entire game dynamic would have shifted. Instead we played catch up. One other thing I was irritated about was the officials. They tackled a receiver in the end zone and there was no flag. If we touched their guys there was a flag. No excuses but impartiality is all I ask for.

McNulty definitely contributed to the loss but the straw that broke the camels back and destroyed any momentum we had came early when the punt returner made a completely asinine decision to attempt to field a ball that Deion Sanders couldn't return.

This team has glimpses of hope but they immediately destroy them with stupidity and lack of discipline. And don't kid yourselves, discipline is coaching.

The sideline antics are sophomoric and embarrassing. It's the kind of thing you see junior high kids or losers do. I explained to my 6 & 9 year old girls that you don't behave like that in any environment. Especially when you're getting crushed. And if you're on the side of "they are just having fun" crowd then realize there is nothing fun about what they were doing. They wanted to bring attention to themselves. All I noticed is they weren't guys who played on the field and they were a distraction to the coaches and actual game day players. Personally I feel our team let's far to many players suit up. That sideline is a traffic jam.

0-3 is reality now. What's next? I say this as reality. I hate it. Our team can't maintain control of the ball. Mac can clap all day long on the sideline but this team isn't good. Good teams don't turn it over. Our team is basically terrible at the basics. Sorry but it's true. I've been around football too long and can see a poor team when I see it. Have fun seniors. 2016...

I'd love nothing more than to see UNT ram the ball down Rice's throat. Pound them all day. Our team knows they shit the bed. If they do it again tomorrow we know what 2015 is. Win, and the sky is the limit.

You sound how I imagine Hitler sounded in his bunker in April of 1945 screaming at generals because their annihilated armies are underperforming.

I think the problem has been pretty simple. Culture mixed with money. Not just the athletic department either. When I played for UNT the AD and coaches had similar complaints as today but I believe it was worse in the past. It's better now. Athletics were not even on the radar of the University in the past. They didn't care and saw it as a waste. The mentality was similar to a boss telling employees to do more with less and without the talent to do it. UNT use to have a lot of commuters. The students that were there were more inclined to sit in their apartments than go to a stadium crappier than their old high school and watch the team lose in front of a few thousand fans. It killed recruiting too and players didn't want to come play for a team with no support. Regardless of the coaches sales pitch. Today, we have facilities. That's not an excuse. The students are coming out more than ever. People have started caring. No excuse. UNT isn't a commuter school at all and they want their school to win. Our president knows sports is important. Can he convince the rest of the decision makers to invest more money in football and basketball? We lack money. Money for all coaches. Not just a head coach. Money to end the bodybag games and increase wins. Get a better schedule and recruits notice. On top of that, put together several winning seasons and the recruits will notice. Once that happens then perception changes and it all gets easier. No one is going to care to come (to donate money, attract better players, or attract better coaches which takes money) here and win until the university itself decides it wants to invest into winning. Like all the big boys who beat our asses do...
