I think giving a coach 5 years under the circumstances is reasonable. He did show serious improvement in his third season but his complete lack of ability in the recruiting department is highlighted with an exclamation point. However, he can't be fired until his boss is fired. Then let a new, hopefully better judge of coaching ability, Athletic Director bring in his own people. RV has been here too long and makes a lot of poor decisions in the coaching department. He's done great on facilities but has failed to win in multiple sports nor schedule well.

I have a far better idea than turning your shirt inside out. Don't go. If I go I'll stay at a tailgate or bar. I'm not wasting time and money until North Texas Football decides to take itself seriously. I cancelled my plans to go to the La Tech and Tennessee games. I also changed my plans for the UTEP home game and found something fun to do. It's sad because I love football season and watching my favorite team but we are an embarrassment now. This program needs to change.

What about last season? And this season? Let's not forget the AD who can't schedule, makes false promises, delivers 5 home games (with one being FCS teams who no one wants to see), and destroyed the basketball team. I don't believe in jumping to quick decisions but UNT needs accountability. RV needs to go. Let the new AD decide Mac's future here and obviously fix the basketball debacle.

Man, I'm speechless. Really. I don't know what the hell is going on. I've never seen it so bad. The coaches are obviously unwound.

Trainwreck. We were much better our first year back in D1 with a landmine schedule, no conference, and bad facilities. However, we still had our pride.

Hyperbole my ass. After this season how couldn't we take this seriously?

UNT needs to get serious about our revenue sports or cancel the damn programs altogether. The status quo is a damn joke. I'm tired of it. It's pathetic and an embarrassment to the university, the students, the student athletes, the alumni, and what few fans left. RV needs to go immediately and let the new AD do what he/she deems necessary. I'm so angry and tired of this loser culture at the athletic department. It's unacceptable.

After looking at his numbers I seriously doubt he would have lost his job. I guess he doesn't like to compete for jobs. Oh well, he got his degree so good for him. Being a GA at his age has to suck though.

When he left did he ever play again?

Hopefully zero. I walked to class in college and barely made it in time all the way from Hickory Village. I generally made it home after 2 AM after my night classes because Fry Street sucked me while walking home. It would be ashame if others didn't have to suffer a similiar fate. Nothing against Frisco, I live in Frisco, I love it here, but Frisco isn't a college town. Students shouldn't have to attend 2 campuses.

It would be a bad deal for the bar. They'd lose money. UCF will win soon. UNT won't win with our stubborn coach.
