Former North Texas LB Zach Orr calls out alma mate
UNTexas replied to Coach Andy Mac's topic in Mean Green Football
Mac came here and stunk it up. PERIOD. -
RV and Mac have to go. Alumni need to voice their opinions in some form. Ideas?
-
Rudy, well said. I'm not attending another game and that pissed me off.
-
RV and Mac. After the UTEP game, every coach left.
-
Is their anyone with the leadership to fire everyone right now and save some dignity?
-
I said the same thing that day.

In my 21 years being a fan including my 4 years as a Letterman on this team I've been sad, upset, angry, irritated, but never embarrassed. The AD and every coach have to be fired if they don't do the right thing and resign first. The players just don't care. If you can't see that then you don't know football really well. I can say I just can't follow or support this program anymore unless they make drastic changes. The university obviously doesn't care if they keep their jobs, so why should students, alumni, or fans? Neither should any recruit who is currently about to decommit or players looking to transfer because that's happening right now. We are an embarrassment and I'm ashamed of my alma mater. How it got here is mind boggling. Shame on the Athletic department.

I'm pretty sure no one noticed because we've been irrelevant before 1957. Everyone looks down their noses at us for a shit ton of reasons that Abner Haynes was never a part of. Abner Haynes has nothing to do with us being a punchline. Regardless of how you spin it. Revisionist history be damned. Go ahead and shit on just the South like every narrow minded person does. This wasn't a race conversation but good try. Typical... Take your race baiting somewhere else.

Sanctity of a Homecoming Court? Ridiculous statement. UNT goes out of its way to look foolish and thinks it's being progressive, but it's really not, it's college kids drawing attention to themselves anyway they can, then everyone gets butt hurt because people look down their noses at our school. Sorry, I happen to be a moderate who doesn't give a shit about people's political crusades. Including Homecoming courts, marriage certificates, the PC police, or whatever crap is on the news tonight. Point is, UNT has a history of jackassery and it will continue on many levels because it can't get over being Bush League. Then people wonder why it's hard to recruit great local talent on our sports teams. Perception is a big problem for UNT.

UNT never misses an opportunity to makes itself a punchline. (And before some try and bash me I call bs. A dude shouldn't be a allowed to run for a girls spot. Just like a girl shouldn't be allowed to run for a dudes spot. He isn't allowed in their bathrooms, locker rooms or on their teams because he's a male.) But hey, look on the bright side, UNT sucks on the field but makes up for it with making itself a punchline.

There is a bright spot to your story. The 1992 team was in it all the way and fought until the end. The 2015 team would get blown out. Both the squads played or are playing an FCS team too. How did it come to this...

I won't be coming to Homecoming and it sucks. Every single one of my friends cancelled, including season ticket holders, and I'm not dragging my family up to watch this disaster. Homecoming is usually an annual event for my friends and I too. It's sad but people aren't going to drive into town, get hotels, and waste money watching this crap. Thanks RV and Mac...

If we lose, I hope it's embarrassing enough to make the powers that be do something about it, like a good university would.
-
IF, we lose? That's funny.

MGB: McCarney says there is no such thing as a "gamer"
UNTexas replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
Good coaches defend their players. This coach throws his players, specifically backup QBs, under the bus every chance he gets. It's his trend. He's not a very bright head coach when he speaks publicly. More over, he's not a good leader and pretty classless. -
Can we hire the guy we should have hired in 2010 now?
UNTexas replied to gangrene's topic in Mean Green Football
Bring in someone young and energetic. Tech made a great hire. I like the Applewhite idea. -
I honestly think this is the lowest point for this program since we came back to D1 and there have been some real lows. In the past they complained about facilities, fan support, ect. They've gotten the facilities minus an indoor facility, people were going to games but that's questionable now that they embarrass themselves. The new president seems to want a great football team. There are zero excuses now. The AD and coaches have failed miserably. If Mac thought recruiting was a too hard for him before just wait when he's selling an 0-12 record. He needs to resign. The AD needs to be fired.

Portland State 42-17

So was he trying to say an undisclosed illness had an effect on this blowout? Next Monday is he going to say a dog ate his playbook?
-
That is what I was thinking too.

I was told by a player that the team doesn't care for Mac. They are tired of his repetitive pep talks, behavior, and excuses. It's obvious there is a leadership void and it starts with him.
