Accountability at UNT above the head coach doesn't exist.

The author is spot on. They'd kill us right now but it would be better for us than, Lamar, Abilene Christian, Liberty, or annihilation by Portland State. Our AD won't have it though.

Actually nothing should scare this team. The season is over and we will most likely get stomped by everyone left so there's really nothing to fear. I guess we should fear being embarrassed but they gave up and got annihilated by an FCS team so it's too late to avoid embarrassment. Hopefully, the season ends quickly with no more injuries. But we still have Tennessee for further humiliation of the university on a bigger stage.

There's a very real chance we lose every single game this year. Anyone recall the last time this happened? I personally think we lose all of them if we can't beat UTSA this week. And the arrogant AD still thinks he keeps his job because he says he has things left to do. Any university who takes sports seriously would have fired his arrogant ass already. That interview last week still enrages me. He may only like a few fans and that's fines because the masses bailed on his disaster. Anyone, I digress, don't burn any redshirts. This season is already over.

I totally agree. His old school approach to clock control and delayed run plays is dated. The rules have changed and made football more pass friendly. His insistence to only play McNulty meant passing was out of the question. Not to mention our line isn't good enough to dominate anyone enough to ground pound the ball. The one season Mac won he did so with a great defense. Not his offense. In the end the simplest way of looking at it is he lost the respect of his players and his football philosophy failed. Then he got frustrated and shot his mouth off publicly. He was a class act when he was fired though. I hope we hire a young hungry coach.

Sorry. It's not that simple. The coaches and AD with the staff are a team too. If you don't get that then you don't know how it works.

This is another illustration of the failure of our athletic department. Winning teams expand the brand of universities. Our President knows this. So do ya'll. We continue to be bottom feeders so no one pays attention. If we had success and cracked the top 25 in a revenue sport on a regular basis then people would know who we are. However, we are irrelevant in sports and are treated accordingly in the sports circles.

False. I wore a UNT polo the other day. All day long people commented how brave I was to wear that, or your school needs to drop football, or why did you go there, or I'd burn the shirt. That was from people that aren't my friends. You should hear my friends. It's an embarrassment to the university and all it alumni.

Me not buying my girls their 15th UNT shirt has zero to do with the AD. It has everything to do with being exhausted of the endless embarrassment and failures of an athletic department that both their parents played for. I'll always enjoy Denton and UNT but athletics are the only thing that keeps my friends coming back to Denton. It's a pain with everyone scattered and with work/family obligations. No one is going to go out of their way for this product. The fun has sadly ended because this leaderless department has run everyone off. Including club level season ticket holders. Yes, I'm pissed off and I'm not buying my kids their 16th UNT shirt to spill ketchup on because I'll blow my money elsewhere while I'm mad. The whole thing sucks.

I feel the same. My girls asked me to buy them UNT Athletics shirts the other day when we were shopping. Nope. Not until something changes. Every time the AD speaks I get angrier.
