I think its a possibility but I could see things going our way too. I thought UTSA would destroy us and I was thrilled we won. UTEP lost to UTSA by 3 TDs so anything can happen. Garbage weather is a big equalizer and we run better. Their injuries are pretty bad, especially at running back, according to the El Paso Times. Hopefully it plays into out favor.

The weather is going to be bad and neither team is good so flip a coin because it will come down to turnovers.

I'd say his best class was one of Dodge's classes who played in 2013.

I'm guessing Briles will at least be offered for a couple of reasons. Name recognition, Recruiting (Big 12 recruiter of the year & knows Texas), young guy currently at a good P5 school, and he'd implement a 2016 offensive strategy. He's a safe hire for RV. RV is on thin ice and he knows it. Only the eternally negative would say he's a bad hire. Plus, I think he'd get the job done. He's got a future, not a past like the last few coaches. Just a guess though...

All I know is I can't stand UTEP and hope it's a long trip home to EP. I want our guys to finish strong and send the seniors out with their heads held high. GMG.

I think RV will hire himself for one last payday because he still has things left to do.

RV isn't responsible for the UTEP game date or weather. Attendance on the other hand, he shares responsibility for no fans being there. Especially the one's he ran off with his big mouth. I think he truly underestimated the "small minority" of fans that want him gone. His current employment as the AD is hurting the entire university. We need a healthy start.

The problem with forgetting the AD & coaches is they are a big part of the equation and their failures are directly hurting these kids. Demand accountability perhaps for the kids because the current administration is failing them.

I predict no bowl game for UNT this year.

Our fans care no matter what side they are on. Whether or not the fans come back in any large numbers any time soon is suspect. The university, however, doesn't seem to care. Nothing has changed. They fired the coach, they are searching for a new one, and they are setting the new one up for failure. The president has done nothing. The athletic director circled his wagons to keep his job. They chased away long time supporters and many won't return at least in the short term. The football program is one of the worst in the country now and recruiting is in serious trouble. It's pretty simple, there will be no divide if change doesn't happen because one half of the divide won't return, leaving the other half cheering in an empty stadium along side RV and his few supporters who will eventually bail too. This situation is really bad.

^This is truth^ RV's record speaks for itself. It's not about love. Sports are about winners and losers. If you aren't winning, you are losing and have to go. Period.

If we are pining away for QBs then I want Mitch Maher at QB, Lance Dumbar at RB, and the 2013 Defense + it's Coordinator. There's a lot to wish for since our program entered hospice.

If the bodybag games aren't going anywhere because of revenue then the Athletic Department can do something with scheduling that would be equally or even more beneficial to the program, eliminate playing Lamar, Abilene Christian, Bethune Cookman, and Incarnate Word. It hurts recruiting, fans could care less, and we pay them. Get good teams to come here and fans will come, it increases revenue by butts in seats, you can bring in recruits to the game, and most importantly it's better for UNT. And for f$$$ sake schedule at least 6 home games.

Its much worse now than the Big West days. Utah State and Idaho are better fan draws than 5 home games and one is getting humiliated by an FCS opponent. In the Big West days we weren't awesome but we were competitive and beat a few P5 teams. This Athletic Department is in shambles. It's as bad now as its been since D1aa days. The basketball program is in ruin and the football team is an embarrassment. The AD has also managed to run off a lot of long time supporters that have been with this school through thick and thin. The AD got everything he asked for (facilities, people attending games, ect.) and in turn destroyed the department.

There is absolutely no excuse to start the season with a bye week and incompetence is not a defense either. RV is horrible at scheduling but he makes up for it by running off fans with his mouth. He said he has things left to do here, I agree with him, if that thing to do is drafting his resignation letter for his love of this university.
