Finish him! You must attack the incomplete sentence.

Big West 2.0 with crappy travel if you aren't on the West Coast. Plus some real duds in the West Division and that's coming from a UNT fan. The Mountain Division is the only one that looks good.

I hate to break it to you but this isn't rec sports where everyone gets a turn. A lot of walk ons bust their asses and don't deserve to be on the field. Same goes for scholarship guys who just don't adapt to a higher level. We don't need gym class heroes. UNT needs to get better and if it means running off bad football players, so be it. This team also lacked heart last season. There are guys who have talent who don't deserve to be here. Matt Simon ran off 22 scholarship players during his first fall camp and guess what happened, he won the conference his first year. This team needs a gut check and clear out some lockers. "Deserve" has nothing to do with D1 football. "Deserve" is something losers hope for. This is exactly why we need a culture change at UNT. The "deserve" mentality is some Chico vs UTEP bs where you lose so everyone plays.

This is spot on. Mac said it himself at Rudy's, recruiting was too hard for him. I'm happy Littrell spotted it right away as any casual observer has over the past couple of seasons.

A 5th media partner is expected to join C-USA

Maybe the old Netflix where they mail a disk to your house? -
That guy is greatness! Although you'd punch him within seconds if you ever met him. To steal someone else's quote on the board, he has a very punchable face.
-
Maybe RV will not collect a buy out, since he loves UNT so much, and free up money for positions for outstanding former student athletes that would surely make UNT better?
-
Mac destroyed the football team inside and out while complaining about the program and university publicly on multiple occasions. (And the one year he won a bowl he did it with the players from Dodge who he said were too small.) This was my feeling when Mac and RV left...

I don't think so after watching our QBs the past 2 seasons. I have zero problem with brutal honesty.

I don't know who knew what down in Waco but there might be some good athletic department staff looking to jump ship. Not everyone at that athletic department was involved in the cover up and we need qualified people. Just a thought... https://www.google.com/amp/www.foxsports.com/college-football/story/ian-mccaw-baylor-athletic-director-resigns-in-wake-of-football-scandal-053016.amp.html#

This whole topic is summed up pretty simply. UNT football has been ridiculous for a long time with glimmers of hope every once in a while. Average alumni pay zero attention because it's been a joke for so long. The last AD and coach pissed off most of the biggest fans of our team. Even long time donors walked. So what do you do? Start with showing students and alumni that you are serious about the program. Last year the players even quit playing. Give people something to cheer for. Go win another HOD Bowl or make the tournament in basketball and repeat it annually. People want to cheer for their school and be proud of the athletic teams. Lately no one has had anything to cheer for and absolutely nothing to cheer for. Turn that around and people will open their wallets. No one is going to donate to a program that that just goes through the motions. The AD needs to change the culture of that athletic department if they expect to bring people back on board. Some accountability would be a good start because the denial of the last AD didn't work. Oh, start scheduling home teams that people want to see. Bethune-Cookman doesn't cut it.

It appears he's where he needs to be. https://www.texastribune.org/library/data/texas-prisons/inmates/gerald-christian-farley/739828/ And lost his appeal. http://caselaw.findlaw.com/tx-court-of-appeals/1131029.html

The link sums it up when the Prosecutor says a 2 year reign of terror ends for the women of Denton. It was really bad. He got a life sentence and deserved it. There were a lot of girls that testified against him at trial. He got away with it for years. They installed those emergency phones all over campus partially because of his countless rapes and assaults. I remember the warnings around town for the girls to be careful. I never thought I'd know the SOB. http://m.tulsaworld.com/archives/ex-sooner-receives-life-sentence/article_69d6d45a-bc2a-5322-b807-8e3ac4122391.html?mode=jqm

I'm with you on this. Dale Hanson is a sell out attention whore. He'll say anything to make a headline that brings attention to himself while bashing someone else. UNT had a serial rapist on the team who was actually convicted in two states. Additionally, he transferred from OU where he was a rapist too. Dale wasn't too burnt up because it was little ole UNT who just went D1 and wasn't big news. Gerald Farley's countless rapes made Baylor's situation look like a joke. Our President Hurley and Head Coach Simon were never told they were at fault and should be fired. Nor should they have been. I can also tell you not one player on the team knew. It's not like dudes come into the locker room bragging about the girls they rape. And no, the team wasn't out of control. People need to shut up and let law enforcement do its job. Especially the Dale Hansons of the world with microphones and big negative mouths. God forbid we let the professionals do their jobs and make the 24 hour news wait for the legal system to play out.

MGB: Some thoughts on where UNT goes from here
UNTexas replied to Brett Vito's topic in Mean Green Football
That's freaking hilarious. The punchable face line has my laughing. -
1. Interview everyone in the athletic department and find out the areas RV failed at. 2. Get a new basketball coach. 3. Burn up the phones calling alumni and get people interested again. Do actual events on game day. People like getting involved and they have money. 4. Rebuild the Lettermen's Association because RV destroyed it. Have actual events. A lot of these people are huge fans and want to be involved. Plus, they have money. 5. Most importantly, completely change the culture at UNT's athletic department. Oh, obviously win.

UNT Homecoming 2016 - Saturday November 5th
UNTexas replied to NTAlum09's topic in Mean Green Football
Actually none of my friends went to the golf tournament and no one went to Homecoming. I get together with several guys throughout the year and everyone complains about zero events and when they do its not welcoming at all. So, everyone meets somewhere other than at UNT. -

UNTexas replied to NTAlum09's topic in Mean Green Football
I wish I could tell you some stories about how badly the athletic department has run off the Letterman and a lot of money that would have been donated. I know the anti RV rhetoric is abundant but he really has lead the charge in chasing off Letterman. It's a conversation I hear pretty often. -
UNT Homecoming 2016 - Saturday November 5th
UNTexas replied to NTAlum09's topic in Mean Green Football
And we are coming off the worst college football season I've ever seen at North Texas. If an FCS team can beat us by 60 these guys could beat us by 100. It depends on if these players have decided to be football players or quitters. I'm sorry but these kids pissed me off last year and most of them are returning. Every ex player I've spoken to is disgusted with these guys and the Athletic Department. -
This is status quo in Denton. It sucks but it's not really news.

SMU 12 point road favs against UNT 2016
UNTexas replied to Coach Bill Lewis's topic in Mean Green Football
I just hope we win a few games. If it's anything like last year I won't be able to stomach it. -
If you count women's sports at UNT vs men's sports at UNT the girls are way ahead in Title IX compliance because they are the only ones actually playing sports. The men are just showing up and not really playing.
